In Search of my Body...Not The One I ate...#3 "Crowning Goddesses As We Go"

Hi Gang...
I lost 3.7 pounds this week!!!!! I am very psyched...
OMG Paula Great Job!

Unlike Steph's brood, my kids are sleepers--thank God.
Gee thanks for reminding me that I have insomniacs for kids! Um yes this morning I did start asking them to be quiet at about 630!

OMG. I have GOT to figure out how to post pictures. Soon. When I get back from Cancun hopefully I'll have some pics to share.
UMM yeah! those grainey pics from the 4H show weren't the best! NEED PICTURES!!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:
Oh yes. I did say that. I believe I said I was a barrel. Well I'm also a pear. So lets say I'm a bottom heavy barrel. A pearrel. or a bear. what ever you wish.
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I hate them.
HATE THEM TOO!!!! I had friends like that to!

Ok So I haven't been on all that much in the last few days I have been fighting a migraine since sunday night it got worse yesterday but I managed through work. Today well it's a different story! As I said kids got up at 630 ish and I managed to distract them from being to loud till 8 I got up and laid on the couch till 9 fed them and went back to the couch. Computers are great babysitters! The boys played on the computer all morning and Sam was at a friends house! I slept on and off on the couch! I got up at noon and showered and fed kids again. Steph came home and wanted to know why Zac's homework wasn't done! I was totally unaware that he had homework! SO after a screaming match with my husband (that did wonders for the headache) I helped zachary with his home work and then it was off to the orthopedist with sam. Headache still in tow! I literally had my eyes shut and head against the wall in the DR. office. Stephen met us outside and I crossed the parking lot and went to work. Let me tell you when you have a migraine lights SUCK! Nothing worse than florescent lights, they are the worse. I actually squinted for 5 hours tonight! I managed to snag a few excedrine migraine and it DULLED the pain. I tried eating and having some caffeine. Nothing was working! So here I am at home sitting in the dark just waiting for the pain to stop. I was tempted to take more excedrine but it says only 2 in 24 hours!

Ok as for Samantha and the Orthopedist~
Dr: Did you ice your knee SAM?
Sam: umm yeah , KINDA
DR: kinda, how so?
Sam :I did it for the first week like you said but I have only done it a few times since!
DR: Ok sounds like a kid!
So he gave her a lecture on how mom isn't the one with the hurt knee and SHE NEEDS TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IT yada yada yada!
Long story short Knee is still popping and giving out! So we are off for a MRI tomorrow night while I am working! thank god I have great people to work with! I will run down and get her settled and then run back to the lab and then they will call when she is done and I will go back down and get her! Then we sill see if surgery is needed or what the next plan of action is!
Ok I am off to sleep this migraine away... I HOPE! Plus the light from the computer is getting to much!
Have a great night!
Oh AMy did I mention that the sangria is really good! Wonder if that is where the migraine is stemming from????:headache: :headache: :headache:

oops food NOT GOOD!

breakfast NOTHING
Lunch Dorito's like three chips
Snack 2 chocolate chip cookies the BIG ONES
Dinner: mozzarella sticks a few BBQ wings and zucchini (big helping)
4 glasses of water and 1 coke zero!

EXERCISE - SLEEPING! that burns calroies right??:rotfl2:

Sorry about your sore noggin Steph. (I am watching our movie from the trip and Turtle Talk with Crush). And no more excederin! It is LOADED with caffeine. If you take it at night, you won't sleep for a week!

Thanks E~ it actually was almost gone but there is still a dull pain this morning! I think it's just because I am way over tired! I stay up till 1 and then boys are up anywhere from 530 -6. I always tell stephen No wonder I am always *itchy before the kids I used to sleep 10-12 hours a day now I sleep 4-6.:lmao:
Ok I have to go feed the little darlings!

Exercise. Dreadmill. Done. I'm just sayin'.

and she sounds so happy about that... :rotfl2:

Good Morning gang....

It is getting cold here... not quite sure when that happened but I woke up this morning and I'm cold.... not happy about that at all...

Steph - sorry about the migraine and yes, the sangria could be the cause of it. I have a dear friend who can't go near wine because it gives him such migraines... There are trigger foods out there and this could be one of yours... good luck and get some rest...

Amy - I am not liking these 'friends' of your who cut you out of their lives... what the hell were they thinking cutting someone as wonderful as you out... their loss is our gain and please consider coming to drink with us in Disney.... I would love to meet you in person.....

have to run...the phone here has been ringing off the hook this morning... this was more of a quick drive by...

Will chat more and post food later...
Paula

Morning! I went straight to my workout this morning (usually I get the kids off to school, check my e-mail and the thread, etc. and then go work out). But since it is Wednesday, that means half day for the kids so I don't have time to be leisurely in the morning.

So, exercise:

Bike - 17 miles
Strength - upper body
Core - 10 minutes

Total - 100 minutes.

Exercise. Dreadmill. Done. I'm just sayin'.

WOO HOO! Don't you love getting it done first thing?

I find that it helps getting it over and done with (and not hanging over your head all day...giving you time to come up with an excuse as to why you can't work out) and also it sets me up to eat well the rest of the day as well. Like, I don't want to blow an 8 mile run by then coming home and pigging out.

and she sounds so happy about that... :rotfl2:

I know! I am sending her a flashlight. :lmao:

Good Morning gang....

SO cold here as well, Paula! Just came in yesterday. I went out for my run and really had a hard time breathing because my lungs were not used to the cold air and it HURT. Last night it was in the 20s and the kids had to wear their winter coats to school today.

Ok, time to get some work done in the whopping hour and a half until the kids get home again.

Howdy from not-so-cold Florida! No snow...though it was about 60 Monday morning...

I had to crawl into a corner for a while...too much going on...with the stress of interviewing for a new job that I wasn't sure I was going to like (didn't get) that would involve 2 years of 60% travel (sucks) but the ability to pick a new position at the end (did like). Not happy with the job I do have (need to figure out how to change that one). Issues at home (no, I am not Julie the cruise director/family therapist and am not responsible for managing emotions vs travel plans relative to national holidays, particularly when it's not my family).

So it all came to a head last week. I tried to go into hibernation for the weekend - skipped the neighborhood Halloween party (rain-out) and everything. That wasn't enough, so I took Mon / Tues off. I think the only vacay I've taken this year has been for Disney or other trips, and why not use it?

Net? No weight gain over the past 2 weeks. Not sure how that happened, but I'll take it. I certainly haven't been shy with the leftover Halloween candy. No significant exercise in, like, weeks.

So now I'm back on the wagon, I think. Work emails mostly caught up. Crash tests passed at work. All the good Halloween candy is gone. Went out for a RUN yesterday morning. I had to dust off the shoes. 1.5 miles, 30 minutes. Longer distance and duration than I think I've gone before. And this morning I got out and did the bike. Only 3 miles, as my legs are SCREAMING at me today. Drinking water, though haven't hit 8 glasses yet.

I have gone back and read through lots of what's been posted in the last week -

Dawn / Baylor - you're in my thoughts.

Steph - hate migranes! And I hate the migrane-hangover that comes the next day.

Lyz - go for the dreadmill!

Erika - cold air. Not something I miss!

Deb

HI all -

Glad Stanley found a home..Steph can excersize througha headache..Lyz is now one with the dreadmill...Liz loves her body even if it is a pear..Kat is on the wagon till Thanksgiving...Paula is busy with work...Nancy is gonna get her grove on after Thanksgiving on a beach...Lisa is plugging through and making us smile..Deb is in job hades...Amy loves us cause we love her back..and to all else I am missing...:yay:

Baylor is making great progress..walking with his crutches today...:cool1: and might even get to come home..maybe schoolnext week even...we shall see...

Home owners spoken with...liabilty will be about 2 years out...$1000 medical right now to his deductible...but this will be a long process...

I think I am doing okay weight wise considering...not losing...but today is 3 weeks out and I am going to kick some fat booty this last 3 weeks if it kills me...and try to get to the YMCA as well...there is nothing like getting some excersize to make you start feeling better...Steph....:cool2:

Should we start posting water, too? I have managed to get in all 64 oz most days, although yesterday it was probably only about 48.

I am so a pumpkin on stilts. My legs don't really gain that much when I gain, and the upper body goes bloooomp like a big balloon. Yuck.

I finally feel GOOD, today. The first week of back on the wagon after ages of bad eating, I tend to feel like total crap, no energy, etc. But once my body gets used to the lower calorie intake, I tend to feel MUCH better.

I think I also had to go through a bit of alcohol withdrawal.

60 and sunny today, btw. :)

I have gone back and read through lots of what's been posted in the last week -

Deb

Deb,

I'm just going to say it. I'm extremely frustrated. This is not about not talking to all of us. None of us can do that. None of us. I can't. I hate missing people when I do. But that's life. It's simply, unfortunately, too overwhelming to talk to all. For all of us.

And I realize you barely know me.

However, for me personally. Yes, I'm relatively new - August. But I've talked to you through the thread. I've highlighted back to you. I've been compassionate - and let me just say compassionate with not wanting anything back. I remember when you were really frustrated with your husband. I felt such empathy for you. And told you so. Nothing.

And your post today just set it off.

You took weeks, maybe months to even acknowledge my presence on this thread. And you've addressed me shortly twice. And once was because I wrote a direct question to you about a WDW ride that you were talking about. So once on your own.

Deb - I'n just very very frustrated.

My apologies to the rest of the thread for voicing this out on the thread and not PM. But honestly at a point in my life, for some reason, I just crave real. Realness or I simply don't want it anymore.

Deb, it is my hope that you'll hear this - as in take it in. And we can go from there. You dont' know me. But one thing about me is that I give the benefit of the doubt - am empathetic. So this isn't simply an off day. I know, from my heart, that it might be upseting or feel like an attack. I know. Which it might be in its own way. But I want to feel like I'm at home here. Maybe you don't even realize. I hear that. But regardless it's upseting to me. And that's valid.

Lisa

Um... excuse me girl, but how the heck does one lose 6.2 pounds in a week???? Where have you been hiding that little secret????

You go girl!!!!! I am so happy for you????

Can't wait to go drinking with you in December....

Paula

I am neither ruler nor pear... more like an apple. Or like a pumpkin on stilts.

When I am thin, though, it goes to a nice hourglass that is mostly leg. I am very much not proportional... 5'8" and petite tops fit me better, and anything under a size 14 in an average length, turns into capris.

A pumpkin on stilts!!???:lmao: Very creative of you Kat. How tall are you? Oh I got it you're all legs.

I like Brady, though.

Did I ever tell you my friend Kim watches BL and eats ice cream? Is that hilarious or what?

That's what one of the guys did from last year.

K. But have you noticed, that more often than not, I tell you WHAT I eat, but not HOW MUCH I eat? popcorn::

But Nancy - you did list the calories once. And I would have no idea how many calories I eat - I never track food. But I know it's close or more to you just by judging.

Well said Paula. Well said. She is wonderful.

Hey Dawn. So happy to hear that he's making progress. So happy. Hang in there.

Steph hasn't EXERCISED IN A WHILE!

:rotfl: :lmao: ;) Me either in flippin' years. Yes, you all need to feel sorry for me. :rotfl: :lmao:

Net? No weight gain over the past 2 weeks. Not sure how that happened, but I'll take it. I certainly haven't been shy with the leftover Halloween candy. No significant exercise in, like, weeks.

Deb

You know Deb. This is what I strive for for the rest of my life. I pretty sure I know that you are at a good weight, yes? Ie. not that overweight. If at all. So no fluctuation - that's what I want.

Dawn -love what you said. I need to remember to love my body. Really. I bought jeans today and they were size 10, no fooling. I've got to love every inch, even the chubby inches.

Yes, you do. Size 10 - fantastic. I'm so psyched for you Liz. You might be at goal when you see everyone in Florida, eh? How exciting.

I so wish I could see you. One day.

Hey who else is near or at goal? Erika - are you there? As in size not a scale thing. Deb? Nancy - you sound pretty fit. Are you there?

Where is everyone at - really - I would like to know.

I was talking about weight today. And I'm kind of sad that my goal is going to be such a high weight - cause that's just life and my body - yes, folks dear Amy has helped me so much and I'm still not over it. And accepting. I do except my body per se. But not the number. I'm working on it.

Cutie - thanks for your thoughts.
