How long are we waiting these days between closing a Chase bus card and apping a new one? Closed a CIC today so that I'm down to two business cards, want to app another CIC.
I was so nervous listening to the hold music on and off for so long. I need to use the card on 8/30 but will call to see if the TA can wait until after I get the card to run the payment through... since I probably won't get the card until Monday, 9/1/2025.
Trying to get ready to book my flights to Tokyo but every time I think I have it figured out I don't.
Had planned to do PE via AA but then they weren't getting to AA so I was going to do BA or Finnair.
Today for end of calendar I can get PE on AA but it's at 330 days. I can't find anything direct on Finnair at 360 or BA at 355.
I'm good with PE given it's a daytime flight but I don't know if I should chance it or what's happening. I search all 3 logged in.
This was supposed to be the easier redemption over the return.![]()

I had the same problem! Grabbed 2 biz and 1 first with Cathay at 360. They don't seem to get PE, so thought I'd just wait for it to come out at BA. But it never did. So now I'm missing a ticket for DS. Have searches set up. Backup plans are a cash economy ticket or he flies by himself (he'll be 17 by then). Or if I can find 2 biz, cancel DH's first tix and they fly together. I regret not grabbing the economy award when I could.
I did one recently with just a few days. How long are we waiting these days between closing a Chase bus card and apping a new one? Closed a CIC today so that I'm down to two business cards, want to app another CIC.
Is the Cathay transfer instant?
There was one that I was looking at for the return that wasn't and I can't remember if it's them. I don't want points somewhere I won't use if it doesn't work.
I keep thinking a 9/1 flight to Tokyo will be easier than Aug. I'm surprised the Jul PE are on AA.
Cathay transfer was instant for me. I know ANA isn't.

Where are you transferring the points from? How many points is Cathay for first? I'm trying to figure out my route (back) to Bali next year and going through Tokyo (and spending a few days there) is an option.Cathay transfer was instant for me. I know ANA isn't.

Transferred from Amex. SFO-TYO is 135k and a little under $200 in taxes.
I booked SFO-HND-FUK, which is oddly a little less at 125,800 due to how they calculate mixed class itineraries (SFO-HND is in first, HND-FUK is in economy).
I think that's why they weren't an option, I don't have enough mr for their higher biz price. It's the only thing I have that transfers.
135k is for first. Biz is 89k with Cathay.
there's a hampton Inn right outside Acadia we've stayed at. Not sure of room sizes as I only needed for 2. Make sure you try Trenton Lobster Pound. Amazing lobster, no frillsAny suggestions of good places to stay near Acadia National Park? Specifically looking for hotel rooms that can sleep five and a close drive to Acadia (preferably Bar Harbor area, but willing to consider a few minutes outside the park too). Something i can book with points would be a plus! Looking to figure out my CC strategy for Acadia road trip next summer.
Thanks, I love lobster, so I will make note of this! I told my husband that half the appeal of the trip is eating lobster rolls all the way up the coast!there's a hampton Inn right outside Acadia we've stayed at. We are at the Hampton Inn Bar Harbor this weekend and waiting for the sunrise on Cadillac Mountain road now. The rooms are a decent size and I imagine could sleep 5 with the pullout sofa and a cot. We only needed it for 2 people so I don’t know what the capacity limits are for them. It’s a great location!Any suggestions of good places to stay near Acadia National Park?
