In Search of my Body...Not The One I ate...#3 "Crowning Goddesses As We Go"

Lisa, I had to quote you real quick, lest you change your mind. lol.

Lisa, Thank you for your kind words. (and yelling at me in caps!) I logically know I'm a good person. Have lots to offer. But emotionally, it just doesn't click.

I had an awesome childhood. My parents loved us unconditionally. I always didn't measure up with the popular kids at school and I want to say that I brought alittle of that with me, but I didn't.

It's as an adult, being heavy and not being able to measure up to my and my husbands standards that have instilled my self loathing. I hope, please oh please, that if I eventually lose weight my sense of self will return.

Thanks for trying to make it obvious to me that I am me and worth more than the sum of my weight.

 back at you. I'm teary eyed.

And I know you know this 100%. I just have to say this next sentence for me. Don't ever - ever think I don't understand. I do fully. :grouphug: To all of us.

Time of Reckoning. What I ate today:

Breakfast: Honey Bunches of Oats. Probably 2 cups.

Lunch: Frisches Big Boy, some kinda ham sub with all the fixings like mayo and tomato, onion rings and a peice of pecan pie.

Snack: 6 Doritos, 3 palmer peanut butter cups (and I hate palmer chocolate:rolleyes1 , but I suppose I was being pathetic.)

Dinner: Piece of bread (Heiners 35) with butter (I can't believe it's not butter) and 2 servings of Chicken Divan.

Feel free to gasp. I need to hear it.

(How I feel, I think we should post that too. The effect our daily eating has. Mentally & Physically.)

How I feel now? I feel like a slug and dissappointed. The lunch wasn't near as good as it sounded. Totally not worth it.

I still need to exercise. Will post that later.

UMMM right there with you!
Lets see
Breakfast: three chocolate chip cookies (the little one!)
snack: 3 peanut butter cup (reeses I can't skimp on chocolate)
Lunch: Turkey sandwich dipped in gravy and tator tots and apple bites (from the schwans company) Diet Coke

:scared1: Gasp if you must! Yes I know really bad!

So the winter season is upon us! He are getting a full fledged winter storm. It is 32 degrees and the snow is flying! the wind is whipping and GOD THERE BETTER BE SCHOOL TOMORROW! there are rumors that there won't be any. We are supposed to get any where from 6 -12" inches YIKES:scared1:

:cool1: Awesome, Dawn! and so excited that your trip, while not a complete surprise, is going to catch the kids off guard! I totally LOVE that!

I'm intrigued. Do tell.

Ummm..well...it had it's good parts, it had it's not-so-pretty parts...but...it's honest!

Hi Lisar. (I said that with a Boston accent, you like?)

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

ok - made it through dinner - even cooked for the Tuesday night dinner gang... I ate my JC meat loaf dinner with some fresh green beans and asparagus. I did indulge and had a little dessert (chocolate pie), but I won't eat my JC snack and I should be ok (provided I put in a little extra in one of my workouts).

Nice Job, Paula! :thumbsup2

My food today:
Apple
100 Cal bagel with 1tsp whipped butter
Arnold whole wheat sandwich thins with one slice light swiss and 2 slices turkey
1 bag of pretzels - 100 cals
Fiber one bar
2 cups of homemade chicken soup with brown rice and carrots
1 piece whole wheat bread with some chicken (this is from the whole chicken I made last night)

Lookin' Good Liz!!! Chicken soup - YUM :woohoo:

Mammogram tomorrow. Nancy, no push-ups here. Why is that bad? What is it like? Tell me all. i shouldn't freak, right? At least the girls are smaller and less, um, cushy. Should be easier to scan when there's nothing there! :rotfl:

Last year, the day before my mammogram (2nd time I ever had one...shoulda KNOWN better!) I did a huge chest workout. Loads of pushups, chest presses, etc. My body hurt. Bigtime. All those muscles were just cryin'. Then...<squish> YOWZA! All those muscles that were sore :scared1: ...I wanted an epidural! Really though - mammograms are not the worst thing in the world....just relax - really - breath deep and let your body be loose. Yeah, it's not exactly comfy...but it's not really painful either. Just uncomfortable.

Lisa, Thank you for your kind words. (and yelling at me in caps!) I logically know I'm a good person. Have lots to offer. But emotionally, it just doesn't click.

You are a totally awesome human being Lyz...don't ever forget that!

:scared1: Gasp if you must! Yes I know really bad!

Again - you were honest. That's what I'm going for myself....just puttin' it out there is a huge step for me!
Ok so no one is on AIM so I am going to go read.! I get on early no one there I get on late no one there! HMMM are you all hiding from ME?

I was on a little earlier...maybe a lot earlier...probably too early for you..

My exercise:

15 minutes on the elliptical (extended warm-up)
then 45 minutes strength training, concentrating on back, biceps and abs, followed by stretching....

My Food:

B- kashi go lean, dried blueberries, 1% milk
Sn - Zone protein bar
L - 1/2 of a turkey wrap from Costco (note: sampled at Costco today...potato crisps - gross, turkey salad on a cracker, tomato basil soup, butterball turkey breast deli meat, veggie lasagna...again..gross, and some tortellini thing)
Sn - pineapple & 2 slices light rye bread, toasted with 1tsp butter
D - Quiche (home made, with turkey sausage, onion, lowfat cheddar), steamed broccoli - huge pile, 1 slice roasted garlic bread
Dessert - sliver of cake left over from DS's confirmation on Sunday

Not too bad. If I had not "sampled" my way thru Costco I woulda been right on target I think. But, it was so late for my lunch by the time I got to Costco I was starving. I looked for a Subway on the way, but since I went to an area I don't typically frequent, I didn't know where to find one. Of course, when I LEFT Costco, I found one on my way to my next errand...by then the damage had been done. Oh well...if I ever need it again, I'll know where it is!!!

Oh - and no wine today. Green tea instead....not the same - at all...but if I want to loose some of this excess before my trip to Cancun I'm going to need to focus as much as possible!

Checking in from the FABULOUS Boardwalk Villas! Part one of the trip report installment to come. But first...

FOOD (freaking LYZ bet me I wouldn't track while on vacation, and you all KNOW how competitive I am!)

Bfast - los sugar oatmeal, 80 cals
Lunch 100 cal bagel with I can't Belive it's not butter spray
Snack - lame bag of pretzels from the plane (60 cals)
Fiber one bar (140)
10 almonds (100)
Dinner--SALAD. Yes, Lyz, I am giving you the finger right now! :lmao: I had a large green salad with ff vinagrette dressing. We also had chips with guac....not sure how many cals of that I had...but not a lot. Maybe 10 chips worth?
On my thrid glass of wine.

Not bad, right?

Ok...time to write up part one...

So, I got off to a late start….just about 10 minutes, so not too bad. And I had built some slush time into my schedule.

First stop…drop off the dog to the sitter. This woman is what you would call a “dog person” in the extreme. OMG, she is totally crazy when it comes to animals, but it means that she is the perfect person to leave your pet with. I swear, the dog will get WAY better care with her than she does at home! In fact, while at the airport, the pet sitter called me and said (in a baby talk voice) “I miss you mommy…” Crazy, right? But so in love with my dog that it is worth the craziness.

Next, had to stop at my mom’s and say good-bye.

Then, off to get Riley at school. He thought he was going to the dentist. Got the girls, too. All of the teachers were like “I have goose bumps for you! I can’t believe they don’t know they are leaving right now!” It was wonderful. We have an incredibly supportive district….they have no problems with pulling kids out for a family vacation.

So, all three kids are in the car and we start our journey. I get on the on ramp to the turnpike. And Kelly says, “Where are we going? Why are we on the highway?” I toyed with them for just a couple of minutes, and then I asked, “Which would you rather do right now? Go to the dentist or go to Disney?” Of course they all said “DISNEY!” I said, “We are going to the airport RIGHT NOW!” And the screaming began. And really didn’t stop until they dropped into bed. It was awesome!

Stopped and got J at his office. He doesn’t get excited on travel day. He will be tomorrow. Timing at the airport was wonderful. Did curbside check in, parked the car, went through security, and waited about 15 minutes before we were allowed to pre-board (we get early boarding privileges, which is a bonus).

We are getting on the plane…and there are not many in front of us as we get the early boarding. But still, we are stopped in the aisle for like 5 minutes. This woman in front of me (traveling with her husband, two kids, and a grandparent) has to take sanitizer and wipes and wipe down ALL of their seats and tray tables before she will let anyone in her family take a seat. I was more laughing AT her than angry.

The flight was uneventful, which means it was perfect. The kids were AMAZING on the plane. Riley helped Kelly with her homework that she has to do while away, Cammie read….and J slept while I managed all three kids. Such is life.

Now see, when we land, I am ready to RUN. I want to just get there, you know? But J…he is different. Like, half an hour before we are to land, I make sure that all the kids go to the bathroom, etc. so that when we deplane, we are on a mission to get to the resort. Finally, we are off the plane. Jeff needs to use the bathroom. UGH! Couldn’t you have done this before? And then he wants to stop for a bottled water. Inside I am freaking out, though I don’t say a word. I am a goddess, after all.

Our routine is easy…he and the kids get the luggage while I go solo to get the rental car. We got a double upgrade. Cadillac. Bonus! First bit of magic. I am ready to head to BWV. J says…let’s stop somewhere before we get to property and have dinner. OMFG! I just want to get there. We stop. Eat dinner. Uneventful, but at least we are all fed. FINALLY, it is time to get to beloved Boardwalk.

It is about 8pm by this time…and we get to the archway. I had NO IDEA it was all lit up at night! We have never arrived at dark before. OMG, the kids screamed! Fun. Then, of course, all of those amazing BWV lights. So pretty.

We valet the car (with a nod of thanks to DVC for free valet for members). We walk into the lobby….and since it is chilly tonight by Florida standards, the steetsmosphere performers were IN the lobby! Awesome! So while my kids still had luggage in hand, they were picked to be part of a show, etc. while I stood in line to check us in. Perfect! I am here and thrilled and smiling ear to ear. J is still somewhat Grumpy, but again, this is the norm for him on travel day.

Check in is easy breasy, with lots of Welcome Homes, which I love. Within 5 minutes of getting to the room, bell services is there with our Owners’ Locker and our groceries that I pre-ordered from Garden Grocer. J opens the wine and we are set to begin our adventure.

Riley (who truly has the Disney gene) and I decide to head out and walk the Boardwalk to take it in while J and the girls relax in the villa. He did some pin trading and we bought the last piece to Kelly’s costume (she is Minnie this year). We saw the high fireworks from Illuminations and I breathed it in.

One downer…we have a dreadful villa. It is clean and in good condition, so those are the most important things. But it is on the first floor and about 2/3 of the way down those infamously LONG BWV hallways. Kat/Lisa….we are right in front of the quiet pool by the Community Center. No pics of the view yet because it was dark when we checked in.

A second downer…I shipped a huge box of stuff down several days ago. And it just NOW arrived here while I was typing this post. It has all of our toiletries in it. So showers were a bit dicey, but at least it is here now.

As for me…it is quiet here and all are asleep. I am sipping wine and am blissfully happy to be here. Tomorrow it is off to the Studios and Toy Story Mania, HSM3 pep rally, Pixar Place, and more!

Hi gang...

OK - so I managed to drag my butt out of bed at 3:45AM in order to be at work for 5:00AM and guess what.... the electrician shows up, but the other contractor we needed to shut down the actual system never showed.... So here I sit, with no shut down, no work and the thought of having to do this again at a future date..... Needless to say - I am pissed and a little cranky.... The phone messages I have left for people have not been kind nor will the conversations I'll be having with them...

On the food front, here is the plan for the day:

Pre-Breakfast - large DD tea with sugar and a glazed donut (a girl needs a little help when asked to function at 4:30AM)
Breakfast - JC cereal with skim milk and a banana
Lunch - JC Rotini w/ meatballs, carrots, yogurt, water
Snack - apple, vitamin bar
Dinner - JC Fish and chips with broccoli, water
Snack - fresh strawberries and some JC cookies (if needed)

Exercise - swim class tonight...

E - hope you are having a great time in WDW... Can't wait to hear about Toy Story Mania....

Lyz - you are a beautiful person and don't let anyone tell you otherwise....

Liz - thanks for making us accountable... this is going to help me more than you realize...

Love to the rest of you... I am off to try and get some work done so I can leave early and take a nap before my class tonight. I am going to need it I think....

So I am so jealous of Erika! I just texted her to tell her~
So it is STILL snowing!!!! just flurries now not to much ended up on the ground but it is FRIGGING COLD!!!! I am assuming that it was icy because there were several accidents early this morning . Did I mention that the siren that goes off for the volunteer fire department is right behind my house!. So that was going off at 7 am... don't have to get up so early now that I have to drive the kids!

E~ have fun!
I will be posting my food tonight!

I love mozzarella sticks. So freaking good. I think I will have to have some for lunch. Thanks Steph! It's your fault I'm fat. ha.

Did I mention that the siren that goes off for the volunteer fire department is right behind my house!. So that was going off at 7 am...

Did you know that before you bought the house?

So here is what a good friend I am. I had to get going early this morning, Maddi had a Champion Breakfast at School. (Where they recogize the kids who display champion behavior.) Due to the fact that I was listening to a podcast, my shower was a quick, no washing of the hair, just the important parts, shower. I'm just sayin'.

Also forgot to post, E ran 3.5 miles this morning.

Lyz - I think E should consider taking you on the cruise given the fact that you did a necessities only shower... :rotfl2:

What do you think...

Paula

Last year, the day before my mammogram (2nd time I ever had one...shoulda KNOWN better!) I did a huge chest workout. Loads of pushups, chest presses, etc. My body hurt. Bigtime. Yeah, it's not exactly comfy...but it's not really painful either. Just uncomfortable.

HILARIOUS. See, this is why it pays to be lazy! No workout for me!!!

It went really well. The tech called me a skinny little thing. Like, "I'm sorry to be scrunching you in here, you skinny little thing". I laughed and told her about my weight loss. So we talked weight loss and the DISNEY! She and her family are going on Dec 26th. How cool is that?

2. Love the reaction of the kids
3. You are insane - you must eat! And pee!
4. I am sooo jealous. Is it warm? Tell us the truth. Is it nice? And you are in a PARK!!!

Paula

Nice plan for the day, Paula! And I hate the person who didn't show up for you, okay? :)

I'll start checking in with my food..I need help in this area.

Erika, so cool that you surprised the kids!! We missed toy story mania.:sad2: Even on evening EMH the was over 60 minutes. I should have ridden it after the race on saturday but I was so freakin tired...

Have a good day everyone, I hope to be back later with a trip/race report.

Very nice, Amy!

Listen guys! EriKa won a DISNEY CRUISE!!!!! OMG!!!! She picked number 40, and that was the Podcast Cruise!!!!!!

We talked on the phone. They can't believe it.

This is so AWESOME!!!!

I love mozzarella sticks. So freaking good. I think I will have to have some for lunch. Thanks Steph! It's your fault I'm fat. ha.

OMG, hilarious - it's your fault I'm fat! BWAHAHAHA!

Erika running at WDW is freakshow! Freakshow!

Lyz - I think E should consider taking you on the cruise given the fact that you did a necessities only shower... :rotfl2:

What do you think...

Paula

YES, Lyz should get to go! Because we know how she feels about her grooming!!!

Oh, WW....back down to 158.2! Lost 3.4 this week. Now, the challenge is not to gain this week. Either lose or stay the same. My goal? lose 1.2 this week. Tracking, tracking, tracking. Good and bad both!
