In Search of my Body...Not The One I ate...#3 "Crowning Goddesses As We Go"

Nancy - Good for your friend! Send her over here!

Erika - OF COURSE you are in. But, missy, no challenge doing allowed unless you TRACK and post your food. Bwahahahahahaha!!!:lmao:

Liz - I thought you were going to bed

Hey all--
Not much time today...just a 3.5 mile run plus some stretching. (45 minutes)

Your not much is like final goal for me!

After going to SEVEN stores, I hit pay dirt at Macy's and found two pair of shorts. They are not my first choices, but they are good enough. Look nice and are at least somewhat flattering. Lucky Brand, btw. And they only cost $7.90 at 90% off. :cool1:

Gotta print my boarding passes then I will be back.

You did awesome, Lucky Brand at 7.90, whoop whoop. I love shopping, you were probably hissing.

"Muddy Buddy"...it's a 2 person team event. It's broken up into segments, with obstacles at the end of each segment. One person starts of biking, the other running the course. When the biker reaches the obstacle, they complete it, then start running the next segment. The runner gets to the obstacle, completes it, picks up the bike and continues on...and so forth...until the last "obstacle" where you must cross a mud pit together to finish.

I've always wanted to do one of those...and Erika...well...she doesn't think it's entirely a BAD idea either! :rolleyes1

You guys kill me.

So, exercise. Let's talk, ladies. I need to get back on the wagon. We are all posting food, right? So let's have a bitty exercise challenge. Let's each try to post something three times a week. We can do three times, right?

Liz - liking the idea.

K. This one is for Liz...since she's the one making us accountable. I was NOT going to post my food, since I think you'll all be HORRIFIED....but...I will.:scared:

Nancy, gosh, I think you might actually get the recommended amount of fruits and veggies in!

Ooooh! And exercise challenge! I am SO in!!!

If EriKa and Nancy are going to do the exercise challenge it has to be on a per person average, cause they would already have won, with Monday. I'm just sayin'.

Kat and Paula are exercising now.

I didn't eat dinner. Since I pretty much ate dinner at lunch. For the day, I had a bowl of potato soup for breakfast, pizza and a candy bar for lunch.

Off to dreadmill.

Hey Ladies,

Back from WDW. Erika, it is absolutely gorgeous down here right now. You picked a good week. TOT 13K was awesome. Unfortunately I cramped up majorly around mile 6.5, so my sub 1:40 time goal was not met, but the race was fun. I did run most of it until then though (except water stops), so that was great for me. Loved the medal and the race shirt.

Only negative thing about the race was dealing with my ex-coworkers. I picked up one of their packets because I am way too nice and I had to hang around and give it to them so they could get into the race area, and I ended up missing out on meeting up with some WISH'ers. The other coirker (who I think I mentioned on here, the one suspected of having relations with the program manager), showed up with him, and neither of their families were there and I think they were staying at together in the same room. Yuck. And so wrong on many levels.

I will be back with some pics tomorrow and hopefully I can catch up. Anything really important I need to know?

Erika-

Have a FABULOUS trip. Can't wait to hear all about it.

(and yes - I do realize that I still need to tell you about my Columbus Day weekend...I'll get to it...right now I'm going thru a drawer full of photos with Seth to pick one of his "baby" pics for the yearbook...)

Hold up for a sec...I need to jump on too! ;)

Don't worry - I'll wait for you.... jump on in...

OK - I made it to JC (gained 2.5 pounds... as expected...), but put myself right back on track... stayed on my eating plan, spent an hour in the pool (awesome workout) and actually sat down and wrote out my menu and exercise plan for the week....

I love the idea of an exercise and tracking challenge.... Time to reign in the self control and this is a perfect way to do it...

Erika - have a great time in WDW... can't wait until you get back... in the meantime, Liz and I will be in the withdrawl support group....

Off for my sweet snack, pack my food for tomorrow and then catch some sleep...

Paula

Liz - I thought you were going to bed

 That's what I was thinking :confused3

Nancy, gosh, I think you might actually get the recommended amount of fruits and veggies in!

I defnitely do get in all my fruits and veggies - every day :goodvibes Trouble is, I get in a lot of *extra* stuff as well! :rolleyes1

If EriKa and Nancy are going to do the exercise challenge it has to be on a per person average, cause they would already have won, with Monday. I'm just sayin'.

Doesn't matter WHAT the exercise is, does it? :confused3 ...just posting 3 times per week...or more...:rolleyes1

K - now I'm off to bed....for certain! 5:30 comes quick...:sad2:

AMY--WOO HOO for the ToT! I expect a full race report! So proud of you!

DAWN--good to see you posting. But it's not enough, m-kay?

LYZ--WOW! Tackling the dreadmill at this hour! You rock!

PAULA--I love that you just keep on keepin' on!

LIZ--I will track, though likely not while on vacation. But we'll see. Stranger things have happened. :rotfl2:

NANCY--I had something to say here, but you know...age and all....:lmao:

STEPH--bummer about the party. And as for the 16 year old drinking in your house....:scared1: NOT ok. I would have gone carnival ape crazy and kicked out both the teen and the parent.

It is 11:30 here and I am packed. But I still have like an hour of work to do! This is exactly what I did NOT want to happen...going like a bat of hell until I step on the plane.

WOO HOO! Disney Day is HERE!

Did I mention that this is a surprise for the kids? Not the trip itself...they know we are going, but they don't know it's today. Our last 3 trips have been a total surprise and Riley does NOT like it. He likes to know so that he can help plan, watch the dvd about the resort we are staying at, etc. So no more surprise trips. But the DAY, now that is a surprise this time. For two reasons, really--(1) so that they actually get a good night's sleep the night before. Traveling all day with 3 over-tired kids is not fun. And (2) since we are leaving later in the day and I am actually sending them to school today, I didn't want them watching the clock all morning and bugging their teachers.

The timing is Jeff's choice, not mine. I, of course, would rather get there as early as possible...get checked in and then just walk around and soak up the atmosphere, you know? But J thinks that this is just a travel day and nothing else. So we have a 3pm flight, which gets us to MCO at 6pm, and to BWV by 7-ish. He works like 5 minutes from the airport, so he is at work now so that he doesn't have to count today as a vacation day. And since the kids will be in school for half the day, it doesn't count as an absence for them.

The bonus is that I will put the kids on the bus at 7:30 this morning and I don't have to get them from school till noon. So I will have a few hours of peace and quiet this morning to slowly go through things, double-check, etc. Of course, I have the last minute running around to do as well, like dropping the dog off, filling a prescription, and you know the drill.

I will pop in later this morning before I leave to get the kids. And then the next time you hear from me will be tonight when I am enjoying a cocktail at BWV!

quick drive by before work - I was Doing SO WELL With food yesterday

Bfast - Oatmeal
Lunch - Salad
too busy at work for a snack
and then........ Bruce took me out to dinner at Olive Garden, DOOMED, i CAN'T pass up 5 cheese ziti, i only at half.... but still, and breadsticks.... :sad2:

Check back in later.

Erika - SO EXCITED FOR YOU!!!! Have a safe trip down!!!

NANCY--I had something to say here, but you know...age and all....:lmao:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

STEPH--bummer about the party. And as for the 16 year old drinking in your house....:scared1: NOT ok. I would have gone carnival ape crazy and kicked out both the teen and the parent.

I forgot to comment on this before....yeah - I'm with Erika. Totally unacceptable. And illegal. And you could be held liable if there were any issues....:sad2:

It is 11:30 here and I am packed. But I still have like an hour of work to do! This is exactly what I did NOT want to happen...going like a bat of hell until I step on the plane.

yeah, but at least you get to step on a plane!

WOO HOO! Disney Day is HERE!

Did I mention that this is a surprise for the kids?

FUN! We've also surprised the kids before....I love doing that :lovestruc

Have fun Erika! I'm off to the gym...so Liz - I'll get back later and tell you what I did! :yay:

Amy!:cheer2: :cheer2: Great job. What an awesome experience. Running at the World. How exciting. Glad you had a good time.

And that breaks my heart, they are "running" around at the world. How selfish.

EriKa - I am seriously gonna hate having you on vacation. Once or twice a day will be bleak.

Enough about me, You, You have a good time. Strolling thru the parks with your bad self. Feeling energetic and lithe. You so deserve it. I know you must have imagined multiple times, running the concrete, in the morning hours around Crescent lake and between Epcot and DHS. It will be awesome.

Oh and about the tracking at WDW. If you want it, here is help.- I bet won't do it. I bet you can't even do it.;)

Your vacation travel day sounds perfect. I hate arriving early to find your hotel isn't ready and you have to lolligag around while you just need a freaking nap. Sounds great to me.

Off to start my regular ol day. Layta ladies.

Good morning...

Erika - safe travels for you and your family.... Have a great time and we will be expecting a full trip report when you get back... mkay...

I got the wake up call from hell this morning..... I get to work and drive into the parking garage as usual only to be greeted with a sign that they are doubling the price of daily parking to $20.00 a day... That works out to be about $400/month or almost $4500/year... That is a freaking car payment people.... I didn't like paying the $10/day, but I could deal with that, but $20... no way am I paying that... So now, I have until Monday to find a new place to park or start taking the bus in.... grrrr... what a way to start the morning...

Oh well.... at least my food is planned for the day...

Breakfast will be my JC cereal with a banana and skim milk and a 1 oz cheese snack (Scooby Snack brand much to my family's laughter...).
Lunch is expected to be my JC Beef chow mein with carrot sticks, and yogurt.
Snacks (if needed) are an apple, my JC vitamin bar (which really is more like a chocolate covered peanut butter bar) and some JC cheese curls...

I'll post the dinner and evening snack stuff later tonight...

Have a great day everyone and for us Northeasterners... drive safe... the storm is supposed to be a nasty one and we are expecting snow before the afternoon is over...

Paula

Oh LYZ! I almost forgot. They are going to announce my prize on Weds. morning. You are in charge. You must text me first thing to let me know what I have won. I am already planning on the $25 gift card, so I won't be disappointed no matter what. Actually, scratch that. I would hate getting the Richard Petty thingy. You should hope that I win that, because if I do, I am giving it to you. ;) Obviously, I have been fantasizing about winning the cruise and/or the Disneyland trip.. :rolleyes1

Good morning!

It's rainy here. I have a list of house stuff to do - more guests this weekend - and a list of errands, and the kiddo all day. I decided we get to do house stuff and putter until lunch time, when we brave the very wet fall day.

I am going to start my challenge tomorrow - unless you guys want to wait and start next week. After Halloween? On Monday maybe? That gives us some time to get prepped with class schedules, etc. Thoughts? And you must post all food and exercise starting now! :) Except for Erika, who has a pass until she comes home. What day do you come home, E?

Tomorrow I weigh in but before that I have my first mammogram. Yep, in October and all! I figured it was high time I get baseline with the massive family history. I booked one for Jodi, too, so at least I have company!

Okay, going to have some nice sensible breakfast that includes something that grew on this earth. ;)

So Erika have a great time! Safe travel! As for flying I'm with you I want to get there fast and get into the parks! I'm actually entertaining leaving on a 9pm flight and getting a full night sleep there and then stepping into the parks the first thing in the morning for our next trip!

As for my SIL letting my niece drink I think it is totally wrong, they start drinking early enough without help from parents! She also pushed her to have a boyfriend at age 12. I was FLIPPING out about that to! I watched her pour a glass of wine one day for her other daughter and her friend because my younger niece had cramps! UMMM tylenol, motrin, pamprin, anything BUT ALCOHOL! Both of these girls are encouraged to wear PLENTY of make up and have been told since they were real little that they looked SEXY! UMM what happened to cute adorable beautiful. NOPE THEY WERE SEXY! My SIL and I have way different views of raising Kids! Her girls do what ever they want! She has even talked to one other the older girls friends about birth control because she is dating my nephew and thinks they are having sex and the girl was like when I need it I will talk to my mom thanks! My nephew was very upset! He was like We aren't ready for that just because we have been dating for 2 years doesn't mean that we are having sex! SIL didn't know what to say! OK RANT OVER HAHAHAHA!
I guess I need to run to the bank so Samantha can buy herself a halloween costume, she wears it to school and that's it! I told her and her friends that they should dress up as a group one year in High school we had a group of seniors dress up as the flintstones and we had kids dress up like gangs (hind sight not a great thing) We had fun dressing up. They funny thing is that chazy school is one school grades K-12. The elementary grades K-6 can't dress up, they have a harvest celebration! The kids in grades in 7-12 are allowed to get dressed up! and Just think of those costumes! Ok need to go dry my hair and head for the bank!

Liz - Congrats on scheduling the mammogram.... While they are definitely not the most enjoyable of tests out there (who ever designed that thing must have been a man... you don't see them squishing things on their body to within an inch of their lives...), it is definitely worth the trouble. I had my first one two years ago... We gals have to take care of ourselves and this is part of it... BTW - Erika have we scheduled our doctor's appointment yet????

I am up for starting the challenge on Monday... that gives me time to work out my schedule... Who is in for this????

Enjoy your day...
Paula

I am going to pass on the exercise challenge but I will post my food for the days! It will get me back on track with WW tracking!

Food (please...sit down. I eat A LOT. Always.)

B- kashi go-lean, 1 % milk, a few dried blueberries
Sn- smoothie (ff yogurt, fruit, protein powder)
L - fiber one bar, pineapple, green salad with chicken
Sn- whole grain bread slice
D- stuffed shells, corn, cucumber slices, glass of wine (big one...) At least I passed on the garlic bread...:confused3

oh yeah...and I ate a sugar cookie and several chocolate covered pretzels at work...:headache: [/B][/COLOR]

Oh honey. I can show you a LOT if you want... and all of it would be junk!

And Nancy--your food day looks about the same as a typical day for me (which today is NOT). I can put away some serious groceries, I tell ya.

Once again, I do believe that both of you wonderful veggie/healthy ladies would be stunned speechless by one of my bad eating days.

Kat and Paula are exercising now.

Yup, and hockey didn't even kick me quite as badly as usual. Even with the combined/1.75 hour practice (ran long). I think it was the 2 cups of coffee at 4PM.

WOO HOO! Disney Day is HERE!
...
I will pop in later this morning before I leave to get the kids. And then the next time you hear from me will be tonight when I am enjoying a cocktail at BWV!

YAY!! :yay: Have a great time!! So jealous.

I am going to try to hit the gym tomorrow night. I might only fit in twice this week since my friend is in town from Fri-Mon, but starting next week I am definitely in.

So, I managed to finish my day out yesterday with what I had posted before, plus 1 pint of Killians at the bar after practice. So I was probably at about 900 cals or so. I didn't get home until after 12:30, and couldn't fall asleep (see coffee above) until after 2:30-3.

And, I got my new phone!! Woooo! :woohoo:

I am going to start my challenge tomorrow - unless you guys want to wait and start next week. After Halloween? On Monday maybe?

Liz. I am starting right now. I need to stop being the healthy lifestyle will happen when the stars align. I need to be on the healthy wagon everyday, no matter what. I will post all food (the good and the horribly ugly, and exercise or lack thereof, every day

Tomorrow I weigh in but before that I have my first mammogram. Yep, in October and all! I figured it was high time I get baseline with the massive family history. I booked one for Jodi, too, so at least I have company!

Poor Liz. I am scared to freaking death of a mammogram. And you booked one for Jodi!:rotfl: You are so hi lar ious!

Okay, going to have some nice sensible breakfast that includes something that grew on this earth. ;)

This was good.

As for my SIL letting my niece drink...

Steph, there are so many things wrong with that relationship, I don't even know what to think. So very sad. She is prepping her daughter to be meat.

The elementary grades K-6 can't dress up, they have a harvest celebration! The kids in grades in 7-12 are allowed to get dressed up!

That is NUTS too. The little kiddos are the ones that need to dress up!

Oh honey. I can show you a LOT if you want... and all of it would be junk!

Once again, I do believe that both of you wonderful veggie/healthy ladies would be stunned speechless by one of my bad eating days.

Kat! Totally with you on this one! I can put it back like you wouldn't believe. And it ain't fruit and veggies.

And, I got my new phone!! Woooo! :woohoo:

Very exciting. I will text you. On your new phone.

Sarah, your food for the day looks very doable! I'm green. Although I do have dinner planned. Chicken Divan. It's chicken breast, brocolli & cheese casserole with french fried onions as a topping. So good.
