And yay for posting updates with your new phone... it definitely isn't the easiest thing! Can you get the eTicket app on your blackberry or is that just an iphone thing?? It makes it a little easier to post, but it's hard to find the different threads.

About 7 inches of rain overnight just this past Friday and well can you just imagine the havoc that can cause?

Seepage for us has thrown our whole basement into a disaster zone including wet carpet and now it stinks…oh man….here is what my scrapbook room looks like:

Not good for my nose, paper or Disney karma here folks….UGH!

Not horrible but still a pain…

Sorry for my short absence…last Thursday I drove in what felt like a monsoon for 5 hours on the expressway up to very far Northern Wisconsin (Three Lakes) to pick up Bekah from her camp where she had been for the past 11 days…

Luckily once we arrived the rain stopped and we had a great afternoon into evening of looking around her camp and getting to see what she had been doing. She had a blast and was sorry to leave…but can’t wait till next yr!

On the way home the next morning we drove down to Wisconsin Dells and had lunch at Monks Bar…if you ever travel through that area…it’s a must stop….YUM! burgers, fries and onion rings served on wax paper and Frisbees for the kids.

Then just a little further away after some crazy winding farm roads…uh hello GPS lady where are we going? We made it to the Cave of the Mounds…this was a bit steep in cost…but an excellent thing to see. Here we are (minus Naomi-Ruth she was at home w/ Grandma and Ja-Ja) in the Cathedral room:

And then the kids purchased sand sifting treasure bags and here they are w/ their finds:

After a few more hours in the car and dinner on the road we made it home….after a late night of laundry (doing up all of Bekah’s clothes from camp) I was awoken early on Saturday morning (7 am) by my Mom calling to see if we are OK?...it had rained that 7 inches that night and that is when we found the seepage in our basement and my parents were getting water and the pond was over flowing again…

My SIL picked me up after helping Matt get up bins etc in our basement I headed to my folks…

It was not nearly as bad as two yrs ago…but still can’t believe we were sandbagging again…

Here we (SIL-Angie, me, my Sis-Jen and my Bro-Dan) are taking a rest on our own version of a lazy river:

Matt’s parents also were hit badly w/ being evacuated from their home and leaving it w/ water in it…. (they are OK...lots of floor damage mostly)

Things are getting back to normal now…but have days left of clean-up and helping both sets of parents…

Also the previous weekend on Sunday night we went to a special needs swim night at a pool/beach in a nearby suburb...it was great! the next one is the 1st...we hope to go again.

Now prior to all this crazy…I did manage to get my Disney craft groove on and here are some of the projects to share:

The little girls B-day shirts, design courtesy of Marion (rustmanfan):

I just printed the pages as 3 x 5 cut and trimmed and then punched holes in the corner, reinforced w/ hole reinforcer stickers, added a thin cardboard back, a cardstock cover and held it all together w/ a little chain.

1 of 4 custom autograph books, w/ character pages designs by Natalie:

I decided to make 4 different books w/ 10 different characters for each child. I printed out the character page designs as 3 x 5’s again on thick printing paper and then used a chipboard album backed w/ cardstock (and inked edges). The character photo page is for the Characters to sign and then the blank cardstock page is for a photo to be added later. I also added a little saying or a quote about each character.

I will add the words “Rachel’s Autographs” to the front of the book too (just need the right stickers).

The characters in Rachel’s book include:

Tiana and Naveen (Princess and the Frog)
Aladdin and Jasmine
Safari Minnie
Iridessa
Human Ariel
Belle
Alice
Mulan


I saved and customized on the computer then printed off several dining/restaurant invites and an invite for the girls to BBB plus an invite to the PL for Nathan.

Lastly I am making a little Disney ABC book for Naomi-Ruth…don’t have anything to show yet…as Matt took the papers to work to laminate for me…

I’m hoping to set up a make ship scrap area in our dining room while the carpet airs out downstairs and keep my fingers crossed by week’s end we can have the basement almost back to normal…

I want to get the other 3 kids autograph books done in the next week too if I can too!

I have a few other projects in the works too…so I will post more when I can get some more done!

Up Next I will announce and share our plan for our BIG 110 day countdown complete w/ a 110 piece paper chain and 20 special planned activities…
