I'm Ordering a big BLT for Thanksgiving 2010 NEW 12/3 started TR! see link

Love the chain! I've often wondered if Ariana would 'allow' a chain to stay up the entire time before our trip so we've never done one. She'd just as soon pull it down and wrap it around herself.

This year I was going to do stickers on a calendar but I'm thinking we might give the chain a try. The Disney nights sound so fun.

I love your countdown chain. The Disney family nights every 10 days is such a great idea!

Wow! Great countdown chain!! It sounds like you have a ton of fun things planned!! :cool1: Can't wait for you to share them with us!! :goodvibes

I'm sorry to hear about your basement! Flooding is just horrible, isn't it?! You have your own room just for scrap booking?!?! I'm so jealous. I just have a few drawers for my stuff. Whenever we visit family up north the girls say they would like a basement. Too bad there are none of them in Florida.
I LOVE your countdown calendar. We do Disney nights every 10 days, too. I still don't know what to do with my countdown calendar. There is a good chance I'll be in DHS in 2 weeks. DH wants to go right before school starts but he won't know if he can take off until 5 days before! A little stress-full for the obsessive planner in me but I have a plan and ADRs set.:thumbsup2

Love the chain!! We did a 30 day paper chain for our July trip and then used the paper chains to create a "funny face" of all 30 chains -- some were the eyes, nose, mouth and hair...we gave the Funny Face a mustache and earring and necklaces -- all from that day's paper chain!

It was great to see the chain get smaller and our Funny face get larger!

and like I said on the other thread ... I'm going to make invites for 4 special Disney nights based on your idea -- this way we have one for each month. I can't wait to see what you do!

Happy 110 Days Until Disney!!! party:

More ideas for me to steal! I am so excited!!!

What was the movie choice and special dessert?

I love the countdown chain idea. So creative! It will definately help to pass the time!

Yay for 110 days!!!! :cool1: :cool1

Love the countdown chain and all the fun things you have planned. Hannah came up while I was reading your update and she thought it was cool too. Looking forward to hearing all about the fun things you'll be doing leading up to your trip!

thanks I just love how all the Diser kids get a kick out of what we are reading and looking at on the boards, mine included....:goodvibes

:rotfl: would be fun though

thanks...I have done the sticker one too for 30 days and then the last trip we just had cross off calendars and 10 days of Disney...so this should be lots of fun!

Can I be in your family????? Please.

I know...my parents house (the one I grew up in is a split and they have had many, many yrs of this issue and funny thing many time I have found myself looking at the real estate ads in FL and tell myself oh man do they have like 6 BD homes...cause w/out that extra basement space where will I put my scrapping ...yes it is a luxary..orginally the spare room in the basement was to be shared by DH and I...well :rolleyes1

fun way to re-use the paper...sorry to say our's will go to the recycling bin...it's been up there a while...kinda faded and dusty now

I love the countdown chain idea. So creative! It will definately help to pass the time!

thanks...I know when we planned this out several months back...seemed like August was so far away and now it's hear...Nov should come quick...

So what did we watch and what was the treat....

I'm actually quite proud of my treat....I had (sad to say) I batch of homemade brownie mix w/ M n M's still in the pantry since Christmas....and well looky what I came up w/ (the picture is pre oven...it still looked great after baking...and that little blob was suppose to be a Mickey head...I tired)

Naomi-Ruth was quite excited there was a "W" on there...she is getting really good w/ labeling her letters!

We actually had the treat after our movie choice:

we went old school and watched a classic....I love watching this! Yes that is my original 1994 VHS copy :rotfl: For those of you who didn't know, I worked for the stores back in 1993-1995 (why did I ever leave :sad2:) and this movie came out during my time working for Disney...as you recall in the stores back then they'd show movie clips from upcoming releases...when the movie came out...a whole bunch of my Disney co-workers & I went to go see it and it was a blast...this was also a trying time for Matt and I early on in our relationship...we were engaged to be married and Matt had enlisted in the Air Force..for reasons we did not forsee he was medically released during basic...and he wasn't home when the movie came out...so this holds a special place in my heart for that time in our lives....

Here is a picture (on our "movie screen") downstairs in the opening scene...which always gives me chills...

After the movie we dug into the treat:

and since Naomi can't have the brownies I made she had one of her own GF, DF, EF cookies w/ a special Timon/Pumba touch of a candy worm :cutie:

108_6315.jpg

and of course before all that happended...we explained to the kids what the chain and Mickey heads were all about and they are very excited :dance3:...Matt cut down the first head to get us started:

and Nathan eagerly read the first one outloud...

It was a great night!

Next Disney countdown night will be at 100 days on Wed 8-11

Also to share...yesterday I made these very clever Test Track Licenses for the 4 kids...I used Natalie's designs found on your photobucket site...I first copied the image over into my photobucket account, erased the yr up top (all of her's including the blanks still say 2009), then saved into my Picasa files and added the dates and names.

108_6299.jpg

printed them out on card stock and used self laminating sheets to cover them, trimed the edges and rounded the corners (no sharp points)...I will give them or try and a get a CM to give them to them later when we arrive at Disney or Epcot...we plan to ride on the 2nd day...I don't know if Naomi-Ruth will be tall enough or if we will take her on...but didn't want her to be left out...

Plus I added two more pictures of DH & I to our mini NYC backdrop book from '94 and '98:

Still working on the kids cutsom guidebooks/journals...we decided the purchased ones were no longer in the funds, and I am starting Nathan's special Autism friendly guidebook...

I still have to finish the autograph books too...but trying to do most of this in secret...it is tricky w/ the kids always lurking around...;)

I will get started on my next Park update soon, hopefully this week.

You are so creative! I'm going to have to remember that countdown idea when Claire is old enough to understand what a countdown is!

Those brownies look delicious. I totally see the Mickey Head!

thanks Julie...that is one of the great perks of Disney it's not something you re-do over and over or the been there done that type of place...because as it changes so do you and your families....each trip has been something special for us...to see and watch your as the kids grow they enjoy different and new things...you will love bringing Claire to Disney :goodvibes

What a great countdown chain! It's going to be so fun watching it get smaller and smaller! :yay:

Love the Lion King! I remember seeing it with Jeff at the theater when it came out.

MMMM....brownies! And I saw the hidden Mickey right away! What a great night! Oh...and I love the look on Naomi-Ruth's face in the cookie pic. "Slimy, yet satifsying!"

Mmm, those brownies look delicious, and The Lion King is always one of my favorites -- the songs are just wonderful!!! :lovestruc

Test Track licenses are very cute! :thumbsup2

Love the countdown chain. I can't believe we're almost to double digits! That is when it always flies for me. It's hard right now to be keeping the trip a secret. The kids keep asking when we are going back to WDW and I just want to tell them but we did a surprise trip in Oct 08 and the LOVED it so I'm trying to stay strong......

Only 3wks til school starts, we should get together again and catch up with everything.

I know...it always cool to see something tangible when awaiting something...Nathan this morning was telling me about how he feels days go by so fast...we've already taken 3 links off...and then the realization as the days go so fast...how he doesn't want the days when we are there to go that fast...

I agree

then he conti w/ telling me how if we lived on different planets how their days compare to earth days...and we wouldn't want to live on Jupiter while at Disney cause their days are only 2 hrs long....

:rotfl:

I know I had to keep my self from bursting out and singing along the whole time...

oh and speaking of songs...you'd be proud, since we heard TMSEP is extended and who knows if it will be still running Thanksgiving week but we are prepping w/ listening to the parade music off Bekah's MP3 player :music:

Test Track licenses are very cute! :thumbsup2

thanks I thought it was such a cute idea

More cute ideas and yummy brownies ... may I have one?

anytime!

I agree...it will be excited to see it drop under 100....:woohoo:

Oh man I know that feeling...the twins and Rachel's first trip was a surprise untill we got to the airport and it was tough to keep it under wraps...but I can't imagine once they are older...they seem to always know when something is up!

Only 3wks til school starts, we should get together again and catch up with everything.

Yes definetly...I'm not positive my schedule yet during the day...but Thursdays I should be free mostly!

Definitely!! :thumbsup2

August 30th here in our neighborhood... how about you?

I'll book a ticket and head on over....

hey that's my Birthday....I will be home for sure untill the evening when I'll be going to a Cubs game...I am looking forward to the game night w/ my Dad (our annual Father Daughter b-day outing) too bad the Cubs stink royal this yr :sad2:

I love the brownies and the movie. Makes me want to make brownies with M&M's right now! I also love that you have a theatre in your basement. Fancy. Are those cookies Newman's Own? They're our favorite allergen-free cookies!
