to make one and only one on the following changes, which would you choose?

Assume dues would go up (if necessary) to cover any additional staff required and that the proposed changes would all be allowable under our contracts.

Feel free to post and tell us why you chose what you did.
Please, no debating others' choices.

I thought it would be fun to see what the majority of the posters here would do if forced to choose between correcting selected "wrongs" and various "pocketbook "issues". :teeth:

Have fun!

I chose a room guarantee of HA/S/NS b/c smoking is NOT an option for me, and HA is also a problem for me (2 small children who take baths, and really dislike the shower, not to mention I like the down-time that happens when kids are bathing and playing). The discount on passes would be welcome too, but it's not that great a priority as I live in FL and get a discount that way. If I didn't live in FL, and lived fairly close ie, GA, I'd probably be a little harder pressed to pick the pass discount one, but probably not...

I chose the one about a guarantee for HA and S/NS at the time of booking. My dad's wife is one person who due to her back being fused cannot be in a HA room right now. I hate to think of how it sounds when the CM checks me in and I explain I cannot have HA due to a back injury. I'm sure it sounds odd. Granted if she is ever in a wheel chair full time then I would like to tell her we have a great room for you to remain someone independent while on a trip!!

DDE (Disney Dining Experience) is a discount dining program that for an annual fee (don't remember the amount, sorry), you get a 20% discount on most WDW restuarant checks and it includes free parking.

FOTL is Front of the Line Access. Universal Studios gives this to guests staying inone of its on site hotels. Allows you to by pass the line. Kind of like unlimited Fast Pass.

I would vote for any park advantages....some truly free perk for members. It seems that most member advantages are really just ways to get us to spend MORE money rather than loyalty rewards. Unlimited fastpass or VIP viewing areas for shows and parades would save us time and be so cheap for Disney to offer us!!!

WOW! Excellent poll. There are many good choices (actually all are good), but the one that got my vote is "Take necessary steps to eliminate all pool crashers at DVC resorts".

I probably would not have voted for this if it weren't for our last trip at Vero.
Yes, pool crashing has always been an issue, but it really comes to light at Vero during a busy time period.
In all fairness, I am making some assumptions that may not be correct here. It's just when I see teenagers running for the pool gate, then 'high-fiving', I assume they are pool crashers.

Oh, and can I consider those who leave a folded towel on a pool chair a crasher? I will consider them crashers, as that will indeed contribute to a poor guest experience.

Thanx for the interesting poll...

I think I'd like FOTL access. I do utilize fastpass when necessary and normally don't mind a reasonable wait for any ride.

But on those days when it seems EVERYONE had the same idea and came to YOUR park ;) I definately wouldn't mind some sort of FOTL access ::yes::

Our DDs are still very young so spending time at the parks during each of our visits is very important. Being able to be flexible with the days and times without worrying about wasting a day on a PH because you only want enter a park for Dinner and fireworks would be great.

...... would save me the most.

A 10% discount on AP's would save me about $70-80 per year. I spent about 27 days a year in WDW, always eat on property. DDE would save me a small fortune.

I voted for the 10% pass discount, although it should be more along the FL resident discount...or better.

You left off your poll: Change future DVC Member Homecomings to DVC Member Appreciation Days. (Event costs should also be more in sync with the event's title)

I voted FOTL, because it seems far and away to give the most value. What's an AP now, $450, $500? So 10% is a saving of $45-50. Think about it - would you pay $50/year for an unlimited FP? I think this would be significant, particularly for those who go to WDW during the summer, over holidays; they wouldn't have to worry about the incredible, multi-hour lines.

Carol, very well thought out choices. You are right to point out that we can't have everything, but the most important one could possibly happen.

I have to give it some serious thought because I feel just about everything you listed would be worthwhile. I need to pause and think what would be most important to me.l

I voted for the HA/S/NS at time of room reservation, but a discount(if it had been 20% I would have gone with that one!) and the FOTL access would be a close 2nd. Very close.

And what is HA?:(
While using points at AKL my family could never get a seat facing the pool, no matter when we arrived. This was not good with a seven year old. When I saw that people were using the pool, hopping on Disney transport to Animal Kingdom and getting in their cars I was mad. I did write and suggest bracelets like BCV does. (I think it's Beach Club that does)

HA is Handicap - Accessible. Those rooms tend to have lower counters and light switches, less storage space in the bathrooms and most importantly - no tubs. They just have roll-in showers. Some families with small children strongly prefer a room with a tub and with counters and switches not quite so "accessible".

:)

Thank you! I wouldn't have thought they would give you a room without a tub! Learn something new everyday.

My thoughts exactly. LOL, I would probably pay more than $50 for unlimited FP. They can keep that AP discount, I want to go to the front of the line!

AP discount for us...

I did think about the FotL option, but ultimately decided on AP discount because we travel with non-DVC'ers, so FotL wouldn't work for us at all. Plus I don't like the idea of some guests having more priviliges than others while in the parks (even if its us!).

It could be argued that AP discounts and other park related perks/discounts wouldn't cost much at all, as they probably wouldn't require additional staffing, and would probably pay for themselves through ancillary park spending and longterm goodwill.
