At some point, FOTL will start being the longest line.

I have to concur with this. We were are Universal last year and the line for FOTL access to a few rides was as long as the other lines at times. The wait time for the FOTL access for the Shrek 3D line was 90 minutes. I will stick to the fast pass concept. So far my longest wait with it was 10 minutes.

I voted for discounts on AP's - Florida Resident Rates would be better and I don't understand why they get the big breaks anyway - this is our "home away from home" so I'd like to see that. I think the income would be made up because we'd make more trips per year (last year we made a second trip and didn't have AP's so we stayed out of the parks). As far the FOTL goes, I would hate to see the back ups for the rides. It seems to me that Fastpass lines move quickly because they are calculated at how many fast pass returns per hour the ride can handle. If it was unlimited and you could go anytime it would end up as long as the regular lines - what would be the difference. Plus I can't see Disney wanting to make all the people in the regular line angry.

I also voted for a discount on APs as that is what we always buy. I also wasn't sure what DDE and FOTL was until I read down the thread but if Universals FOTL is that bad then I'm not sure it would be such a great thing. I do have interest, however, in the DDE and would love a discount for dining also.

I voted for an AP discount. With the current price, that would be almost $40 a ticket.

The DDE card costs $75. You would have to spend $375 to make up for the cost of the card (20% discount on meals). Then more on top of it to make it worth more than the ticket discount.

FOTL would be nice but I think unlimited would get out of hand with the current number of members. No way could they do it for all WDW guests. How about 1 or 2 per day per person? Or set it up like the old free passes, go by the occupancy of your room.

I could care less if there is an extra person in the room (especially kids). I could care less if renters get perks. I worry more about what can make my stay better.

Allow PETS to stay in DVC Rooms, boy that's a great idea, and 2 people even voted for it.
That's pretty scary!!

"Our membership is approaching 100,000, and that's not counting our families. You're talking about FOTL for an awefully large number of people. At some point, FOTL will start being the longest line. And as someone else mentioned: If we get it, who else staying on property will expect it ?"
Hence, the "REASONABLE" part of the poll. It could be a limited number of passes per day and you could select your times a day or more in advance at your resort-computers are pretty smart-if too many are selecting TOT for friday night it would also put limitations on how many DVC users can get those-it would also know that you are indeed staying on site on points and not a renter etc, maybe you would then choose RNR or even a different park instead, limited times, limited days, just a great discussion towards enhancing/rewarding ownership.

I know that all of our dinning habits are different, but speaking for just me and my DW, the DDE would save us approx $400.00 per year and I'd classify our eating habits as modest. I guess DDE wouldn't work for families that actually use the stove thingy for many of their meals.

I love this poll. I am not surprised at the number of people that want a discounted AP. The first year we joined I purchased the Unofficial Guide to Disney and in the book it said if you owned a timeshare (including DVC) you could get the Florida Resident's discounts - well I guess that just isn't true and they have changed it in their books since then. But that was the year we went and I took it to Guest Relations and had my documents and the book to show them and they said "no way" - we were so disappointed. I felt ripped off - but then we went and had fun anyway. I would really like to see that as a benefit though.

discount on pass would be the choice for us

I wouldn't want FOTL if only a few members could get it every day. ALL members should be eligible for a perk, and not have to finagle to get it, to truly make it a great perk.

One reason why I really hate the DVC perks like pins and watches that you can only get at WDW. We should be able to order them!

Not sure what you are asking. You must be referring to making FOTL selections in advance which was just a suggestion, but if implemented would have to have some limits on time/ride selections. Not everyone could pick TOT at 5PM friday-its impossible. Not everyone can pick 2BR BWV for XMAS eve either.

Excepting those who buy all they can and sell on e-bay, making them orderable would make them less 'exclusive'. I guess that's why they're perks and not entitlements. :)

After very careful consideration I decided for the AP/PAP discount. I really miss that DC benefit and know that would save me a few hundred dollars.

Unlimited, unrestricted access to the Fast Pass lines by way of showing your member card ( or something similar). Not exactly FOTL but much better than the present Fast Pass restrictions.

And what would be the business reason that WDW management would want to do this?

The net result would be to subtantially decrease the supply of FastPass capacity to other guests. FastPasses would run out sooner each day.

Yeah I really like fast pass I see no reason to revamp the whole system and give perks to resort guests. Everyone pays the same $$ to get in the parks the current fast pass system is great and fair. And I own at SSR so I could be selfish and want FOTL but I don't think it is fair.

BOTH PREVIOUSLY ANSWERED:

"Agree to a point, but even ONE FOTL per day (talk about lowering our standards) would be nice, that way you could at least do 1 attraction if you arrive late in the day for an evening of dinner and a night show etc. I would still vote for 1 FOTL per day over 10% off AP. Plus I kind of disagree there would be no advantage to offer some form of FOTL to DVC members because most would spend more time in the parks (either buying AP or more Hoppers, dinners, drinks, less time at US) than they do now."

OR:

It was a toss between 10% off AP or FOTL access, but I went with FOTL cause I thought I'd gladly give up the 10% discount to be able to not have to wait in those long lines and/or fool with fastpass.

Also, I would think this would be less costly to DVC AND would be a HUGE perk to present during a DVC presentation to potential buyers, especially if they are visiting WDW during those summer months!

Plus, if Universal can do it....
