what would you do different if you could relive your youth.

I probably would have played more sports as a child and tried toturn that into a career. I definitely would have kept in touch with old classmates. I have run into 2 classmates from grade school only to hear that one another was killed during the WTC accident while she was pregnant.

I also would have gone straight to college after HS and then straight to my masters.

These are just a few, How about you???

I would've bypassed marriage and went on to college after H.S. It's not that I can't finish up what I started, it's just much easier when you are younger and have more energy!

But at the time...I was doing what I wanted to do.

I would not have stayed home that fateful Halloween night when I was 13 that changed my life with a sexual assault. If that hadn't happened, I hope I would not have had such a destructive lifestyle in high schol. I hope I would have gotten good grades, went to college, etc. However, because of my past, I met my Dh, whom I love more than anything, and I have two beautiful daughters, who are the light of my life. I am stronger and more capable of dealing with trauma. I am who I am today because of that fateful night, so, maybe, now that I think of it, I wouldn't change a thing. :)

I NEVER would have given into peer pressure and given up playing the violin because it wasn't cool.:(

Gosh, that's a hard question. As tc said, changing anything would lead to me not being with DH, the best thing in my life.
I'll keep my life the way it is, bumps and and all. :)

I would have done better in school and joined and stuck with some sport activites.

I also would have spent more time with my dad, since now it's too late.

Everything else, I'd keep pretty much the same!

I would have gone to college out of high school - nights if I had to - instead of waiting. (I went nights in my mid-twenties and never finished..)

Stayed in better physical shape....now it's so hard to get back to it in my 40's.

Bought into DVC the year it started :)

Nothing real major...

There's too much I'd want to change. I'd only get depressed if I started naming them all.

Studied more and worried less about what other people thought of me!

Truthfully I think I wouldn't want to change anything really. I did make mistakes and terrible things did happen here and there, but they are what makes me who I am today.

I would change my teenage years...definitely. Been more outgoing, I would also not have dated the guys I dated...It actually messed up my life quite a bit. I would have gone away to school, no matter what!!!

I wish we could do it again!! I would jump at the chance!!

I wish I had gone away to college. I have so many coworkers who still have these special college bonds (and stories ;)) that I really missed out on by going to a school in driving distance.

I wouldn't have given my mother so much grief...I was going through a rebellious phase. Now that I'm a mom, I hope to goodness that my DD won't put me through the things I put mine through!!

I am still a teenager, but there are some things I would do differently if I could relive my childhood all over again -

I would have kept playing soccer and doing gymnastics.
I would have kept acting in local productions.

I would have gone away to college.

I wish I never dated the abusive boyfriend I had before DH.

I would have liked to finish my 4 year teaching degree.

I've made my share of mistakes in 47 years, but I wouldn't change a thing. Every experience in life, good or bad, has brought me to where I am today. I am blessed with a loving and understanding wife, two excellent children, and a great bunch of friends. I wouldn't want to risk changing anything for fear on missing out on what I have today. Could my life be better? Probably. Could it be worse? Most definitely.

Any regrets about things that I didn't do in my youth have been replaced by the crazy things that I do when I'm around my DIS friends.

Neat thread Antnee. Thanks for posting. And thanks for all the interesting replies everyone.

Not sure what I would change, accept for going right to College instead of working, then going at night. I probably would have also been more honest, sooner, about who I was with my parents before it was too late! Oh yeah, I wish I never started smoking!

Should have gone to college here too. Read this and heed this kids! Go to college right after high school! It's so much easier at that point.

I would have tried to be a better mother. Now that I am middle aged, I can see where I made the mistakes with my kids!

You know, the only thing I can think of that I would have changed is I would like to have been more active in Girl Scouts. I tried but never made it past Brownies because of a horrible drill sgt. Now I wish I'd tried again after she left.

Otherwise, nothing :)
