I've heard so much about these ice cream sandwiches, i can't wait to get one during our Aug trip. Are they only in MK or can we find them in other parks? Is it only vanilla ice cream as a filling? How much are they?

I can't answer all your questions, but I will tell you they are wonderful! I just discovered them last May. I believe they are only at the MK in the Main St. Bakery. I don't remember the price and I think I had vanilla ice cream. I'm definately having one in October when we're there. It's a great snack to have while you wait for the fireworks! Enjoy!

You can get them at any park - just look for one of those wheeled freezer carts. I don't remember the cost, but their proably about $4.

You are talking about 2 different sandwiches. The ones from the freezer carts are good and come in oreo and chocolate chip, but the homemade cookie sandwiches are from the Main St. Bakery and feature big cookies with a big scoop of ice cream in the middle. You can order any type of cookie you want, and they don't have to both be the same. They create them as you wait. I have only seen this with vanilla ice cream. It used to be that there were a couple of other spots around WDW where you could get these too, but not many. princess: pirate: :earboy2: YUMMMM!

In May I got one in Liberty Square. I watched the guy make it (two chocolate chip cookies with vanilla ice cream in the middle--YUM!). I thought I only paid two dollars and something though.

It's just to the left of the castle (if you are in front of it) , over by the wishing well. Not sure if that's called Sleepy Hollow. We stumbled on it one year, we had been at the MK at least 20 times before that and had never seen it.

Yes, it is Sleepy Hollow. And, I have to admit that I think they are even better here then at the Main Street Bakery. But.........to be sure, I recommend you give both a try!

I LOVE the Main Street Cookie Ice Cream Sandwiches! It saves me from deciding Bakery or Ice Cream! :cloud9: I had one with white choc macadamia cookies and one with reg. Toll House. Good question about ice cream, though. I assume they could be made with any ice cream since they're made to order, but I only have seen vanilla? Has anyone ever had a different flavor ice cream?

The "homemade" ones are $4 - $4.50, I think.

And the last time or two at the bakery I was a little disappointed in the cookie - they were a little too crisp for my tastes. The first few I had (I've had a number - both at MK Bakery and DL, they serve them there too) were softer, more like homemade toll house choc chip cookies. The crispier cookies were crumbling apart. So I'm planning on trying Sleepy Hollow next time to see if their cookies are any softer.

By the way, they're pretty messy if you eat them with your hands. DW always calls me George by the end of eating (Seinfeld reference).

I just checked my receipt, the one in MS Bakery was $3.49.. with tax total $3.72.
We had the macadamia white choc cookies with vanilla (they only have vanilla ice cream). It was humoungous!!! I thought it was the best value for an ice cream sandwich.... :)

I stop at Sleepy Hollow on every trip and get one of the ice cream cookie sandwiches. They are so good. Now I want one. I guess I'll have to wait until August!

I don't think these count as a "snack" on the dining plan, but it is my understanding the Main St. Bakery is a counter service restaurant and that you can get 2 items and 1 drink for 1 cs.

Our family of 4 plans to go there and use 2 cs credits to get 4 ice cream sandwiches and 2 drinks. We have so many cs credits - we don't think we'll use them all - so we thought this would be a "good" use of them :)

To answer the question about the ice cream flavors. I was told I could order the sandwich from the Plaza rest. if wanted another flavor other than vanilla. I decided vanilla would be best for the sandwich...the cookies just came out of the oven, so my two huge scoops of icecream started to melt quickly, making it extra messy, extra good! Just use a spoon and of course your tongue, and you're good to go! :earboy2:

We had on at Pop back in Nov. it was the "homemade" one. 2 really big cookies with a couple scoops in the middle it was $4-$5 because i remember my DH and DS got mickey bars but DD and I shared this and it was about the price of 2 mickey bars. And it is BIG! and so good! I even had one for dinner one night. I waited till everyone else had ordered real food then said i just felt like ice cream and got one of these things. ....... They looked at me like i was sooooo mean so i shared it!

Lisa Ray, you are my kind of mother. Make sure the kid eat their veggies -- been there done that. We can now have our ice cream as a meal :rotfl2:

I ordered one about 3 weeks ago and was not offered a choice in cookies but was offered a choice in ice cream.

MMMMMMM.... Chocolate chip cookies with ice cream ....

$3.49 + tax - It was GRRRRRRReat!

After reading this thread my DH and I got one last night at the Bakery in MK.......soooooooo good!!!!!
