My sister randomly messaged me yesterday and said we should go to DLP.

I was like nah the flights alone are way too much.
But google would say otherwise lol.

So now I'm just curious about some basics.
1. Best time of year? Based on crowds not weather

2. How many park days do we need? Its just 2 adults.

3. I assume they have an onsite hotel? Should we stay onsite?

4. How far is it from downtown Paris and is it easy to get there from DLP? We have been to Paris twice before on guided tours so no real experience with getting around on our own.

1. Best time of year? Based on crowds not weather.

Best time is when kids are in school. So before late May or after late August. There are also local holidays that will pack the parks.

2. How many park days do we need? Its just 2 adults.

It depends on how you like to take in the parks. There are only 2 parks. 2 or 3 days is usually plenty for most. I'm going 4 days next year... well, because I'm a Disney geek.

3. I assume they have an onsite hotel? Should we stay onsite?

There are hotels on property, but they are more "hotels" (some place to sleep) rather than "resorts" like you may be familiar with in Florida. I always stay on property at one of the "moderates". Sequoia Lodge, Newport Bay or Marvel. I'm going to try the newly remodeled Disneyland Hotel (Deluxe) next trip.

4. How far is it from downtown Paris and is it easy to get there from DLP? We have been to Paris twice before on guided tours so no real experience with getting around on our own.

Paris center is 45 minutes or so by car. The train comes out directly. The RER is 30-40 minutes, The TGV is 9 or 10.

Disneyland Paris is roughly equivalent in structure to Disneyland in California, with 2 parks right next to each other and Disney Village, similar to Downtown Disney with shops and restaurants, across from them. So I'd say 1-2 days at each park would be sufficient. On a trip in mid-March 2024, we did almost everything in 2 1/2 days, but there's a lot of new stuff coming to the Walt Disney Studios park.

As Teamubr says above, there are several hotels on property. Disneyland Hotel and Marvel are definitely deluxe, comparable to Grand Floridian and Grand Californian. I'd call Sequoia and Newport Bay at the lower end of Deluxe (like Wilderness Lodge and Beach Club) because they have interior rooms in a single building and are an easy walk from the parks. There are a few hotels (Cheyenne and Santa Fe) farther away that are closer to Moderates. As in Orlando, there are also hotels offsite that are less convenient and less expensive.

There is a train station next to Disney Village. You can take a train from Charles de Gaulle airport; we used a private car service so we didn't have book . I'm sure you can also take a train into Paris, though I'm not sure where it stops.

I haven't been yet but I've planned a whole trip for November so I can tell you what I have learned so far. FYI it's not a budget trip for us, its the kind of we are only going to be there once trip.

We are staying at Marvel, it's a close call for us between the Disneyland hotel or Marvel but decided to go with Marvel since we like to get Starbucks in the morning and apparently we just walk right by on the way to the park and it just seemed easier and it was a little less expensive.

I don't know anything about trains so I hired a car service to and from Disneyland to CDG was 175 euro.

We are arriving from Paris on the Monday morning around 10 am and we will spend that whole day and the entire next day and then leave on Wednesday morning.

The Premier pass or priority pass is way cheaper than it is at Disneyworld so I booked it for both days, I think it was 180 euro for both of us, people say we won't need it but why wait at all if you can avoid it and I like the idea of doing the park in a geographic order than looking at wait times and bouncing around.

The only table service we have booked is Remy's just because it looks unique, we are not big meal eaters and plan to try some of the snacks for the most part.

The only other thing I want to book is the fireworks viewing but I haven't been able to book it yet. Really want to see the drone show. We usually do the dessert part at MK for the priority viewing and figure this is kind of the equivalent.

We plan to download the skip tax app and scan our Disney purchases into the app to claim back some kind of tax at the airport.
