Then I could do all the fun stuff I miss out on... like waking Tinkerbell, Alice's Mad Tea Party, wearing a princess dress in MK, the Princess tea...

WDW is the one place where it really sucks to be a grown up! :earboy2:

On the contrary, Tricky Fish, where else in the world can a grown up get away with wearing mouse ear hats :earsboy: , waiting in line to have their picture taken with a mouse or a princess princess: , sing along with childhood favorites, have no worries or cares about the "real" world, and generally act like a kid? That's part of the reason I love Walt Disney World so much; it makes me feel like an 8 year old again, and for a week I can forget about my adult cares and concerns. Granted, I would love to be able to wear some of the beautiful princess costumes that I buy for my DD , and the tea parties do sound great, but since I have a DD, I have fun experiencing those things vicariously through her. However, WDW offers so much other fun stuff for kids of all ages to enjoy! :cloud9:

BTW, I love your tag line! That scene in the movie cracks me up, and DH and I are always quoting it!

Where is the Alice's mad tea party held? Do you need a reservation?

Thanks

i would love to be young again... well i am young... i am 16... but i do not want to grow up... how do you get to never land from here???((not michael jaksons ranch... you have got to be kidding me...))

Excuse me, and why can't you be a kid again? I ran through the Magic Kingdom like an idiot during the Family Magic Tour, and had a blast sitting at Philharmagic with Wendy and Peter Pan, I laughed myself silly as ice cream dripped and melted all over my shirt, I bought a Tinkerbelle wand that lights up in the dark (so cool), I threatened a three-year old that if she didn't behave at the Tea Party, that I'd take her place (!), and proceeded to go to Grand Floridian and make my own Tea Party. Age is a state of mind. I have the coolest tee-shirt and hat from Disney which states " I Am NEVER Growing up." I'm the "youngest" adult I know, and I love it. Why should those "vertically challenged" people have all the fun? I'm sending some Pixie Dust your way. :earboy2:

Oh no, not to say that you can't be a kid again at Disney, because I truly believe you can (and I do.. I think I was more excited about seeing Donald than all the other kids in the line.. I think I jumped up and down in the line with excitement!) but I guess I'm just a tad jealous that I can't go to the Mad Tea Party ;) and being 23 and not wanting kids for a long while it's not something I'll experience anytime soon..

Hmm..methinks I need that Tinkerbell wand tho!!

Well, when you do have kids, I know you'll feel differently. You will experience WDW in a way you have never experienced it before. I went to WDW 5 times before I had my DD, one trip even being my honeymoon, but let me tell you, NONE of them were as special as when we took her for the first time. It totally changes the way you look at everthing, and the magic is even more magical when you see it in the eyes of your child. That, in addition to making you feel like a kid yourself, is what makes it so great to be a grown-up at WDW.

Of course, that's no reason to go out and have kids right now! ;) Just something to look forward to in your future! :earboy2:

haha, definitely NOT going to be having kids right now!!

I don't know if I ever said, but I think it everytime I see your sig, that photo is absolutely adorable!!

...wearing a princess dress in MK...
I had to chime in here... when we went to WDW two weeks ago we saw this lady probably in her mid-40's as we were getting off Alladin's Magic Carpet ride. I wish I would have taken a picture....she was wearing a red dress with white polka-dots, black tights, black dress shoes, and a Minnie Mouse headband to match (the one with the matching bow to her dress). Oh she also was wearing a birthday button. My husband looked at her then looked at me and asked, "Is that one of your DIS buddies?" I looked back at him and said "Why did you see a lime green Mickey head?" He just rolled his eyes at me :rolleyes2 !!

OK, that's a bit much! But, hey, good for her for having the courage to wear it! I bet she had a great birthday!

Thanks, Tricky Fish! I love it, too!

Well, somebody must be buying them, because those dresses (for adults) were in the Disney Direct catalogue about two months ago. If Minnie is available, can the others be far behind...?

My inner child gets free reign at Disney and I love that feeling! It's the only place I can somewhat be that little girl again and rarely get a second glance. But, if I do get one of those disapproving looks from someone who "doesn't get it", it bounces right off. I'm having the "bestest" time and loving every minute of it! :rotfl: :earboy2: :teeth: :rotfl:

Well I am 8 when I go too Disneyworld, thats the beauty of the place. It is fun too let your kid out too play again!!! princess: We wore princess tiaras to the princess breakfast in Dec. It was FUN!!

The only thing I miss from Disney childhood is River Country being open! The news of it's permanent closing was a knife in my heart. I LOVED that place, and always held our hope I'd bring my two children there at least once! :(

I wish I was a SIZE 8 again! Oh, heck . . . I was never a size 8 . . .

My DH has that same Tee Shirt "I am never growing up". It is black and the letters are all very bright colors. More people comment on that shirt that any other one he has.
The motto in our house is
Growing old is mandatory. Growing up is optional.

At Disney World, everyone is a kid at heart. That is the great thing about going there. As others have siad, your inner child can come out and play.

This is a great thread. I am a 31 year old guy traveling solo to WDW for 9 nights in Febuary and will have no problem being 8 years old again, becausse that is what makes WDW special. It has the magic that allows you to forget everything and act 8 again. This is going to be a very special trip because it's my first time staying onsite. I have character meals planned, and the first thing I'm going to buy is mouse ears. I have always wanted a set of them. The people at work think I am crazy for going to a "family vacation spot" solo. I tell them the that WDW is magical regardless if you are going solo, with a family or with 50 people.

Well, Jason, make sure you get them engraved, that is, have your name sewn on them at the MK. It's free. By the way the ears are $6.00 :earsgirl:
Wear them with pride!!! :earboy2:
