I wish I didn't know who Lebron James was

STOP already!!! is he curing cancer? wow. I stepped out of Penn Station this morning and saw a bunch of news vans and thought something really scary had happened here in NYC. Nope, it's ALL ABOUT LEBRON.

Sad state of affairs we are in. I subscribe to 'breaking news' on my email. I am aghast at what is considered 'news' let alone breaking. Sensationalism has hit a new low.

LeBron can throw a big round object and suddenly he is bigger than people dying in foreign lands. He garners more money than most of the soldiers combined.

Our priorities are so out of whack.

I am glad to know I am not the only one. I heard of people having parties while waiting to see which team this dude picked. I was like, you have got to be kidding. At first I was thinking it was because I am not an NBA, but a MLB fan. But after thinking about it, yes I would be interested in seeing which team my favortie player maybe traded too, but I wouldn't expect it to be major news.

There are more important things that need more attention than which team some athlete chooses.

I didn't until this morning. A friend and I went out last night and we were sitting around and I asked, "Who is this Lobron Jones character?" (pronounced just like that) She said she had no clue. I wondered if he'd raped someone or maybe killed someone will drinking and driving. She said she had no clue. We were just sitting there speculating like that. People were laughing at us.

But honestly, who cares?

In Cleveland it is like all war, famine, oil spills, and disease has stopped and the only thing worth talking about on the news is a basketball player with an over inflated ego. The Cavs fans are just as bad, you should hear everyone. 18 hours ago they worshiped him and now he is scum. They are like the girl that asked the QB to prom because he is so hot and dreamy and perfect but when he says no he is going with someone else all of a sudden it doesn't matter because he is ugly and stupid anyway.

Up until last week I didn't think anyone would have more hype around an ultimately unimportant decision then David Beckham. I envy those of you who have been able to avoid the circus.

It is the Miami Heat though, not the Dolphins...wrong sport.

He's a basketball player, so it's the Miami Heat (I think!) The only reason I know this is I am from Ohio, not far from where he played HS ball.

I believe that he dates Paris Hilton, whom he hooked up with after jilting Britney Spears (after being left in the lurch by Lindsay Lohan).

Anyway, the news today is that he is going to Miami, I guess to help the Dolphins (I guess to wipe the oil off them). What a kind person!

Seriously: My interest in basketball waned after Michael Jordan left. Is this James guy suppose to be as good as Jordan?

Maybe the reason so many have not heard of King James is because he does not do outrageous or BAD things that would attract those with the tabloid mindset. You've got a clean cut man that does great things for kids and organizations like Boys & Girls of America while being a sports superstar.

In the grand scheme of things that isn't worth a whole lot. Except of course for his own $$$ where he'll probably earn more than all of us (we?) posters on this thread will earn in our collective lives.
