I went bagless!

Yes, significantly. Changes started last summer after the Pulse shooting
An hour or two after rope drop is the peak entrance time of the day, lines don't get longer than then, it's the worse time to arrive.

Guess I will see for myself! :) Maybe we will go later. We are not rope dropping every day this trip.

What? That makes no sense. There are no lines for bagless entries. There's an entrance but you walk straight through. You don't even stop walking so I'm not sure how there can even be a line
Yep. It can be true. Both times we went to Epcot last August, I went through the bag line, while my husband and kids went through the bagless line. There was a long single line at the bagless line and everyone was going through the metal detectors.

That's 2 different things. The bagless entry has no line. There may be a line at the metal detector. Not the bagless entry though.

Yes there was a line. It was moving slowly and security was directing everyone into a single file line, then once people got to the metal detector they went through.

I so want to go bagless, but my one bugaboo is the spare charger/cord for my phone. I'd be ok going with just my phone/magicband (credit card/ID in the phone case) but that plus an extra charger? Meh, not feeling it. :(

And God knows... with MDE, you definitely need that extra charge!

You also should always carry a little cash. I've seen more than once a kiosk go off line and they could only sell to people who had cash.

I can go bag less at Universal and be fine, maybe because so many things are indoors, but for some reason I can't go without one at Disney. I'm one of those insufferable parents that is always making everyone stop every 20 feet and drink water, and re-apply sunscreen. I'm OCD about hydration and sun protection. I have to have my bag to carry bottled water and spray sunscreen. Plus, I carry ziplock bags to store our phones in, in case of rain or on water rides. Sometimes they come in handy to save leftover food for later as well.

That's why I have a battery case for my phone when I'm going to be out and about for an extended period of time. 60% or more battery life with the case and it's not much bigger than my actual phone. I could stuff a flat USB plug/kindle plug and keyring charger cord in my pocket if need be.

Yeah going bagless is awesome! However, with the kiddos you kinda almost need to be prepared for what comes...

I'm always the planner of my trips, everyone expects me to be prepared for disaster! Haha, I like carrying cash around with me but I could take the plunge and just use my magic band and pay the bill at the end...but that just makes it harder for me to keep track of what I'm spending! I'm so used to having my wallet, phone, snacks, first aid and a notebook to keep track of my reservations and plans! Everyone thinks we're being fun and spontaneous but really I'm gently guiding everyone in the right direction. ;) I think this year I will be able to go bagless at least half of the days...we're not planning on doing parks sun up to sun down this year. Fingers crossed that I get to feel the freedom! :p

In the summer, we rope drop, leave around 2 to resort, rest, chill, freshen up and head back around 6 usually for the late night parks. I will take a bag in the morning (sunscreen, snacks, etc) but the evening leg no bag - it is great!

With these don't you have to stop and plug it in somewhere? This is what I use: http://www.jackery.com/jackery-bar

Does a lanyard w a clear waterproof pouch attached (about the size of a phone) count as a bag?IMG_6008.PNG

We were just talking about this last week during our trip. I admire all you who can do this! I sure envied the shorter lines.

I don't think I'll ever be able to go completely bagless, but on our last trip to DLR I just used (cute) fanny pack and it was great! I usually use a cross body, and it was so freeing to not have to worry about it! I only carried my phone, portable charger, chapstick, and a small wallet for my card, park tickets, and fast passes! for my sunglasses I have a pair of cookies so I could keep them around my neck!

We haven't been to WDW since 2002. I usually only carry a cross body the size of my iphone that can only carry my iPhone and maybe cash/CC. Can tiny bags like that go on the rides? Or has WDW become like Universal Studios where everything goes in a locker for the rides? I'm assuming by 'bag check,' you all are speaking about just getting thru the MAIN gait? Not a bag check at every ride?
