Please dress warmly this weekend Jan 31st/Feb 3rd

I would think that the exhibits will still be open. But if the animals have a choice of whether to be outside or stay in a warm place, they might be out of sight.
Most of the animals have a climate controlled (heat or air) “rock” that they can lay on when outside so they should be on exhibit.

Regarding animals at AK: we visited in January 2010 during very similar weather. We rode the Safari in the morning, when it was in the 40s, and we saw very few animals. We found out where the entrance to the giraffe compound is because they were all gathered outside the gate, pretty clearly saying “Let us in!”

Just a side note in case anyone takes that seriously- Disney does not force the animals out. If the giraffes want to be in their barns, they can stay in their barns. They often gather close together at that spot when the doors are open in the morning.

Your main point is 💯 though. They’re FL residents, they don’t do cold! It’s almost a waste to do the safari first thing on a cold day.

We arrive Sunday. After being there last year when it snowed on the beach and rained with the cold we are bringing a little bit of everything! Have the rechargeable hand warmers ready to go with the gloves, winter coats, and thermals. Still will be warmer than the below zero weather in CT. Also looks like each day it gets warmer so will enjoy that

At Epcot today. The wind really picked up mid-afternoon, I decided to leave for a while and have some food at the Dolphin and get out of the cold, couldn’t believe there were kids in Stormalong Bay! Windchill has got to be in the 30’s. It’s so windy and cold I don’t think I will stay for the closing show. Planning to go back for the first Broadway show at least

I spent all of about 2 hours at the Animal Kingdom this morning. Hardly any animals were out, but Basko and his mom were. I caught Winged Encounters-the Kingdom takes Flight in front of the Tree of Life twice. The second time some of the macaws flew in, briefly, but most of them were like "Are you nuts? It's cold!" When I got on the bus to leave, I checked the weather-it said 59, feels like 49, but it felt like about 29 to me. Surprising to me, there were still people just coming in-some in shorts! It remained cloudy all day-at least if there'd been sun, there might have been a little warm feeling. I feel so bad for people who chose this week for their once in a lifetime trip.

We left from WI last Fri the 23. It was minus 13 when we got on the plane. When we got to FL it was low 80s so over a 90 degree difference
Tue was our coldest day low 50s but sunny
We were also there last year when we arrived it was a cold driving rain with wind. We wore our winter coats for 4 days
We left to come home Fri 1/30 and they were really talking about the weather
Just enjoy your time in the world

We have our pool running over night.. Got a faucet dripping innthe house and sink cabinet doors opened. The sprinklers go on every Sunday morning. We didn’t know if we should turn them off or not, so they will be turning on soon. It’s 25 degrees right now at 5:30am with a feel like of 10. Forgot to cover my azaleas. Did most of what was recommended for Florida residents. 🤞

I am about ten miles as a crow flies from WDW and we got down to 23 degrees around 7:45 this morning. It looks like some attractions are opening late according to MDE. I couldn’t believe they didn’t close rides like Tiana early yesterday, although with a five minute standby wait after dark the guests were being wise. I got soaked the last time I rode it.

I’m at AK today fo the last day of dinosaur. As far as I can tell Flight of passage has been closed all day, which is surprising since it is an indoor ride.
Very few animals out but it was interesting for me to see which ones are more cold hearty. I’m glad Disney doesn’t force animals into the cold if they don’t want to be out.
Dinosaur is very festive today with a lot of people and a long line. Posted 250 when we were there, but we thankfully had a LL.

Disney magic is still a thing for us. Even in the cold. We were at universal(old parks) yesterday and it wasn’t magical. (Epic the day before yesterday was wonderful weather and a wonderful park, on the other hand).

It’s too late now but just incase we ever get this low again, the news did say to turn the sprinklers off.
We covered our palm tree and hibiscus tree last night but they aren’t looking very good today. Hopefully they bounce back.
3 more nights of this…

Those kids must be from the Midwest! 30s are like 70s this time of year for them.

We went to Epcot and MK yesterday. Parked at TTC and monorailed over to Epcot, arriving just after official park open. It was about 29 degrees with a feels like of 18 when we arrived. And windy! They had moved the distribution of Lorcana quest books inside to the Odyssey building, so we headed over there first to get our books. Did a few rides, had lunch, got a dessert at the Odyssey building after picking up our Lorcana promo cards. Overall, crowd level felt very low. Took the monorail over to MK where crowds also felt low, but wait times sure didn't seem to reflect that. I miss the days where they didn't really change ride operations/capacity that much, so lower crowd days = low wait times. We did some rides, had some dinner, did some more rides, then left as the parade was running to beat the crowds to the monorail, since we have to work today and wanted to get back "home" early. Overall, it was extremely cold for Orlando all day. We were dressed for it, wearing the kind of stuff we usually take to Yellowstone, but then that meant being hot while in line indoors. Soarin was the worst...had to actually take off the coat and was still sweating. Today we have to work so don't have to deal with the frigid morning. And starting tomorrow, temps seem to be working their way back to normal Orlando winter, so looking forward to that later in the week.

I did Wild Africa Trek on Jan 19th and it was in the 40’s/50’s but tons of animals were out. I can’t imagine how it must be for them in the super cold! But I’m sure a lot of them are somewhat used to it now that they’ve been there a while.

Felt the same Saturday morning in the Soarin line. Took off my coats and put them in the pouch under my seat. Going to AH at MK tonight so will be cold again, probably won’t make it to 1 AM!

When I was there on another very cold day recently, Basko and his Mom were out on the Maharajah Jungle Trek. Who'd figure that Tigers from Asia would be OK with the cold?
