On my way to work today an older gentleman had a medical emergency of some sort in his car. He passed out and rear ended the Van next to me and then smashed into the rear passenger side of our Camry. Thankfully the kids were not in the car.
He was not wearing his seatbelt and while airbag slowed him down some, he hit the windshield.
He appeared to be breathing but was nonresponsive. We were afraid to move him because we were worried about neck injuries. The paramedics arrived and got him out and he was airlifted to the local hospital where he is currently in critical condition.
I am fine, as is the van driver. Part of me is thankful that I was there as my car stopped his car from jumping the ditch and going into oncoming traffic.
I immediately thought of FroggyinArk and their admonition that everyone should wear seatbelts. If it bears repeating, now is the time. Make sure you and your loved ones always wear your seatbelts
And everyone please pray for driver that is in the hospital. Cars can be fixed but you can't bring back loved ones that die in accidents like this.
