I was in an accident today (Car Pictures, Pg 5)

I started wearing a seatbelt when i drove my little MGB when I was in my 20's. My Mom was worried that if I got hit I would fly out of the car. Now I feel strange if I don't have it on. My DH will not wear his...he has already gotten a ticket but still doesn't wear it. I'm going to show him some of these stories and maybe it will stick in his head that he needs to.

Glad you are all right and my prayers for the gentleman in the hospital.

Sorry about your accident Jeff. Glad your OK though. I'll say a prayer for the gentleman who was hurt.

Glad you were OK Jeff....prayers for the other gentleman...

Im so glad you are ok and thank goodness the kids werent with you.

{HUGS} to you. That sounds so scary. You just never know.
I'm glad your O.K.

Glad to hear you are ok - prayers for those hurt.

Glad you aren't hurt. Sometimes we are in the place we are for a reason. Did you take a different route that morning? Were you running late? Being where you were you may have saved a lot of lives.

Thanks for all the prayers everyone. :)

Unfortuntely, I found out from the officer a little while ago that the other driver didn't make it through the night. :(:(

So now I change my request to prayers for his family who have to deal with the loss of a loved one.

And again, since it bears repeating:

WEAR YOUR SEATBELTS

:( :(

Very sad- but what a good reminder that seatbelts *are* important!

Best wishes and thoughts to this mans family-

Our "wonderful" senators in SC (wish I could remember their names) ran a filibuster to prevent officers from stopping based solely on seat belt violation. Sometimes I really just hate politicians. People say it is a personal choice, but not to the victims that have been hit by a guy's car who WASN'T wearing a seat belt, and his car is now traveling out of control without a driver because he was thrown from the car. I really, really, really have a hard time understanding this....:sad2: Glad to hear that you are ok, and the van driver. Prayers for the driver....

I can't say how many times in my career in insurance I've heard such tragic stories. We had a similar no seatbelt accident here last weekend, luckily our friend's sister actually came out the best of her friends that were in the truck...

Jeff, Hope you are still feeling okay and not uncomfortable today!

Sorry to hear of the gentlemans passing seat belt are required for a reason and this is unfortuantely one of them. We can be stopped if the officer even thinks you don't have it on.

Prayers for his family going out. I am sorry that you have to deal with this. I don't even know how many injuries come into our E.R. every week that might be affected by seatbelt use.

I'm so glad you are OK and that your children were not in the van.

Also thank you very much for caring. You had an emotional experience today. In spite of that, you took the time to remind us to wear our seatbelts.

Yes - lives may have been saved by having the van hit rather than oncoming traffic. You also may save lives by your thoughtful reminder about seatbelts.

Prayers to the older gentleman's family.
