Love love the pictures and the sword fighting interactions between your DS and Donald! So cute.
I wonder if the unhelpful CM at Fairytale Hall was the same one that was also unhelpful for us in January when I was trying to figure out how long the wait through the FP+ queue would be and whether we would have enough time to get to our BOG ADR.
Adorable!! What a great interaction. One of those looks on his face is exactly what my DH does when I try to get him to pose with princesses!
CONGRATULATIONS!!How awesome for you and your family!
You guys are adorable! Your DH pulled off the Michael look very well! I'm sure you guys gave some park guests a big chuckle that evening!
The video of Paxton sword fighting with Donald was so cute. You have great photos and video of that interaction.
Cliff hanger for the Rapunzel and Flynn meet and greet! Oh man...
I'm so far behind on comments but I've been reading... Bad DIS friend! Loving all the party updates so far, loved the sword fight with Donald!! I will try to be better about commenting. We'll be back in the World so soon![]()
Talkative and chatty with a princess... that's a good sign!First, she was asking DS if he knew how to sword fight, and of course he said yes after his swashbuckling duel with Donald Duck that had just taken place! Then she asked if DS could fly, and he said yes again. When she asked him where was Tinkerbell this evening, DS was very happy to turn around and point to me! lol
Finally, they noticed DH's costume and said that Michael must have grown up!
DW was kind of that way about Rapunzel... but then we saw some movie with a couple of princesses named Elsa and Anna.I do really love Little Mermaid and Beauty & the Beast, but even so, I've never been so crazy over a princess as I am for Rapunzel! Needless to say (although I just did), I was really excited about this meet!
More good signs from your DS! He's getting into this whole playing with characters thing! It was so cute that when she asked his name, DS replied that he was Peter Pan!
...
Flynn told him he was looking for a protege to train into the next Flynn Rider, so they asked to see his muscles, which DS was happy to show off.
NOOOO!!!We had been coaching DS up until the trip about asking Flynn to see what was in the satchel, but when the time came, he clammed up!
Good point. It does look like it would have been quite a bit more comfortable than something elaborate. The costume really wasn't that bad.The only issues with it was it was very hot while the sun was still out. Which is why my sleeves are pulled up in all the day time shots. As the night went on and it got a little cooler it was quite comfortable. Looking back this was a whole lot better than the Captain Hook idea. I would have been burning up in that. Sweat would have probably been poring down my face in every shot.

Walking around in pink footie pajamas by yourself you just look weird and you just look out of place walking around the resort in them as well as well.Hard to look another person in the eye while getting on the elevator in your pajamas.

I don't think they'd probably be looking you in the eye either though.
I'm glad the costume worked out so well for you!
Love the pictures, sounds like a perfect character interaction. Meeting the princes is so cool! I wish dh and I would've seen rapunzel and Flynn in 2011 when we had the chance since rapunzel meets alone now. Gavin loves Cinderella and rapunzel so hoping to score a fp+ for May.
Oh my goodness those pictures with Donald are too cute.
And Rapunzel and Flynn! Ahhhh totally worth the 30min wait they are fabulous, I love some of Rapunzel's facial expressions, too cute!
Those pic are sooo cute! My goodness we were watching tangled the other day on tv and Devyn specifically asked to meet him! So safe to day we will skip the 7 dwarfs and start there this year. That sword fight with Donald was hilarious and so cute!
That's a pretty good Snow White right there, perfect questions and all.
I'm not sure why, but in the photo with the Punzie and DS hug (with the border), I look at her face in that photo, and if I could read her mind and body language, I swear it's saying "Eugene... I want a baby."![]()
For those interested a few of my thoughts on the Michael costume:
The costume really wasn't that bad.The only issues with it was it was very hot while the sun was still out. Which is why my sleeves are pulled up in all the day time shots. As the night went on and it got a little cooler it was quite comfortable. Looking back this was a whole lot better than the Captain Hook idea. I would have been burning up in that. Sweat would have probably been poring down my face in every shot.
It was only awkward to walk around in while I was by myself and before we made it to the MK. Walking around in pink footie pajamas by yourself you just look weird and you just look out of place walking around the resort in them as well as well.Hard to look another person in the eye while getting on the elevator in your pajamas.
Although a grown man in pink footie pajamas in the MK though seemed normal to everyone around us. At least seemed normal to me at the time.
All the attention I was getting as well as the encouragement for a great costume really help. And it was a great ice breaker with random people in line and CMs.
Thanks to DW and all the fellow DISers who pushed for the better costume idea then the more typical hook or smee option. There were plenty of Captain Hooks and Smees walking around but only one Michael!I mean who doesn't love getting some extra attention from the characters at Disney.
Talkative and chatty with a princess... that's a good sign!
Excellent observation.
DW was kind of that way about Rapunzel... but then we saw some movie with a couple of princesses named Elsa and Anna.
Either way, you're right, for anyone who has read any of your TR's, your feelings for Rapunzel are needless to say. But we're always happy to share in your excitement.![]()
More good signs from your DS! He's getting into this whole playing with characters thing!
NOOOO!!!![]()
That's a shame!!! As much as he seemed to be getting into the idea of talking and playing with them, it is too bad that he chose to clam up a bit before he got to ask about the satchel. I'm glad that Rapunzel was so good about it and willing to help him out a little bit!
Good point. It does look like it would have been quite a bit more comfortable than something elaborate.
I don't think they'd probably be looking you in the eye either though.
I'm glad the costume worked out so well for you!
Oh wow, what amazing meets!! I don't think I have ever seen Snow White's price?? And rapunzel and Flynn, wow! Just impressed with the whole meet and how into it you and they were. That is awesome. So cute about Paxton being in character too, I love that!
What a great meet and greet and what wonderful descriptions of the character interactions, wonderful wonderful update!
I can see why you posted so many, it would be impossible to pick! Oh you are making me miss that age!!!!!!!!!!
That's fair enough! Having never even been out of the country, I was way too overwhelmed with planning a trip to Italy on my own. The podcast episodes about the Viva Italia trip definitely drew me in to doing the trip that way, so I don't mind letting ABD take the wheel!
Too bad we will miss you at DLP, but I hope you have a great time!
OK - I FINALLY got caught up on your TR. As I said before, for some reason I didn't join in from the beginning, and now I finally got through all the posts. I so much wanted to make some comments along the way, but I didn't bother because I figured you'd be like "What's he talking about, I wrote that in January!"
Anyways, from more recent posts:
- Congratulations on the new job! M-F definitely has it's advantages. Hopefully you like the work too.
- Costumes looked great. So impressed you got DH to dress as John. I'm willing to put up with a lot of Halloween (having dressed as Mickey Mouse and a giant carrot in the past) but I don't think you'd get me to walk around MK in a pink onsie!
- I can imagine it was hot too - we had Mary Poppins and Bert costumes all set for our MNSSHP in 2010 but rejected them late in the game because they would've been too warm.
- The Rapunzel meet looks great - we never got to see her with Flynn back when they were meeting together either. We just met her the first time this last trip. It was the only M&G that DD would agree too. She has been listening to the Tangled soundtrack non-stop lately.
-Looks like it's been a super trip overall. I promise I'll keep up from this point forward. I'm especially looking forward to reading about your Viva Italia trip. Make sure to join in on the chats that Kevin runs leading up to the trip. We felt like we already knew several of the people by doing that.
What awesome pictures! It looks like it was all fun and games and that's the way it should beSeriously though, what an awesome meet and to meet Flynn is awesome. I'm glad it was so magical.
Finally the Flynn meet!! It sounds like it was a great meet, the pictures are adorable as is the video! So cute that DS was in character![]()
This is our first time there but books, internet and research (and lots of hotel changes) and we are practically all booked including a day trip to St. Moritz in Switzerland on a train. 4 cities in Italy (day trip to St. Moritz) and then Paris. I cannot wait. I wish it was tomorrow. That is too bad. It is only by a few days.
Congrats on the job.
Love relaxing by the pool.
Love the costumes.
Nice IASW pics. I do not get people taking pics with tablets. They are so big and clunky.
He looked so happy on tea cups.
Great pics with Donald and Goofy. The video worked for me.
LOL. If he was Ralphie.
Great pics with Snow and Rapunzel.
I am all caught up again.
