"I Wanna See My Castle!" October 2013 TR *COMPLETE* **NEW TR LINK!!** 7/3

Day 6 Continued: Sunday October 27th

Finally, it was time for Celebrate the Magic with the Villains tag added, followed by HalloWishes! I had been looking forward to the fireworks as much as the parade, so needless to say, I was excited for what was to come!

I forgot to mention, in addition to my shoe fail, which was beginning to get worse as we just stood there waiting for the fireworks to start, my eye make up was not the best choice either! I guess because it was pretty much straight glitter, I don't know if it was getting in my eyes or what, but my eyes wouldn't stop tearing up the whole night. I kept having to dab them with napkins. I was really wishing I had just stuck with the outfit and the bun and foregone the shoes & makeup! lol

Celebrate the Magic was new for us, as the last trip had been when they were doing the crossover from Magic, Memories & You to Celebrate the Magic, so there was no Castle show at the time. I was pretty excited to see the new version, and it didn't disappoint!

Loved it! It was a little harder to see from as far back as we were, but we still really enjoyed the show! DS especially loved the Wreck-It Ralph part, as did DH & I. We really love that movie!

And then it was time...HAPPY HALLOWISHES!!

Okay, I know that is an obscene amount of HalloWishes pictures, but seriously it was SO HARD to choose! I just seriously loved these photos as much as I loved every single second of HalloWishes! I am a huge fan of any kind of fireworks with Cinderella Castle in the foreground, Wishes, Holiday Wishes, Summer Nightastic...but OMG, HalloWishes blows everything else away!! I will still see Wishes every trip and gush over how amazing it is and even probably cry, but I doubt anything could ever top HalloWishes for me. It was incredible!! The music is amazing, I love listening to it over and over again. And this from someone who was never really a fan of Halloween to begin with! That began to change when DS was born a week before Halloween, and then October became pretty much my favorite month because of that, and Halloween just started creeping up on my favorite holiday lists because I associate it with DS's birthday. MNSSHP put that over the edge, Boo to You and HalloWishes especially so!!!

After the fireworks, we noticed a Photopass photographer had sprung up to take photos of guests with the Castle behind them from right there, so we decided to get a picture taken. DS wouldn't cooperate at first, so we got one just DH and I first. You can see in these pictures how my eyes were bothered by the makeup!

Then DS changed his mind and decided he wanted in on the fun!

At that point, it was time to say farewell to Dave as he was headed up to Main Street to set up for the second parade. But not for long, as we'd be seeing him again the next day! We firmed up our plans, then went our separate ways.

In my planning stages, I thought by this time DS would be tired and/or cranky, so we might have to let him fall asleep in the stroller and find other ways to entertain ourselves for the night. But that wasn't the case, at least not yet! He was still raring to go! We had already been to Fantasyland, Adventureland, and Frontierland, so it was time to head over to the part of the park we hadn't been to yet that night!

UP NEXT: Jamming in Tomorrowland!

Wow, your Wishes pictures turned out amazing, job well done. :worship:
Looks like your family had a great time. Your Halloween outfit turned out super-cute, sometimes you have to sacrifice comfort for looking good. :rotfl:

Ah, the struggles of a girl- first the shoes now the makeup! You live and you learn I guess.

Oh my gosh those CTM and Wishes pics are absolutely AMAZING!!!

I can see why you had a hard time choosing pictures, they are all amazing! I think the 2nd one is my favorite, the castle looks really cool. I love the picture of the three of you in front of the castle, I’m glad DS changed his mind! He looks so ornery in that picture, it’s really cute. I’m glad he was still ready to party!

I'm so glad you guys liked Celebrate the Magic! I love it :goodvibes

Such great Hallowishes pictures!!

That's great news about the podcast TR. I am definitely interested! I usually only listen to WDW Today & DIS Unplugged, so when I am all caught up on those, I am usually at a loss for what to listen to. :lmao: I'll probably check that one out anyway, but definitely share the link with me when your episode goes up!

As promised, here is a link to the podcast I recorded with Be Our Guest about my trip with my 3 month old DD this past November. http://beourguestpodcast.podbean.co...sy-suites-orlando-and-a-3-month-old-princess/

I have refused to listen to it because I don't want to hear myself talk. If you ever wanted to here what a Wisconsin accent sounds like--here ya go.

I have been following all your posts but not commenting--I am SO enjoying reading all the updates! We will be in WDW Aug 30-Sept 9, and we really want to do MNSSHP...but I don't think our daughter who will be 14 months would last too long at the party. We'll see though...my mom is coming with so maybe she will babysit!

What amazing photos of HalloWishes and the Boo to You parade! You really captured all the magic of those moments! That's awesome that you got to meet Dave!

I love that you can ToT INSIDE the Tiki Room. How awesome is that?

The video and photos from your Rapunzel and Flynn meet were adorable. I loved when Rapunzel realized your DH was dressed as Michael. Paxton was so in character! You hold the distinction of being the very first DISer for which I have seen photos of Flynn with Rapunzel's crown. That is so cool. :thumbsup2

Yay for your Magic Bands! Makes your upcoming trip seem so real. Enjoy the anticipation and final countdown! :)

Aww don't worry, I tear up waiting for the fireworks and also blame it on make-up. You're not alone! :)

OH GOOD LORD YOUR PHOTOS!!!!!!!! AMAZING!!!!!!! Like with Boo to You, I am glad you didn't pick and choose. How could you??? They're glorious!! I can total picture DH and Dave there trying to outdo each other.

Ok I am going to FB your hubby again so he can tell me what settings to use LMAO! Amazing! Gorgeous pics.

Sad about your eye makeup AND shoes - uncomfortable shoes are the WORST!! Hope you were able to sit in the stroller for a minute or something haha! I have tried to get DH to drive me around in the stroller without avail... :rotfl:

Anyway beautiful pics again, love the castle show, and can't wait for more!

Those CTM shots are awesome! I love that show but I have a hard time getting good pictures of it!

And those Hallowishes photos, so pretty!

For those interested a few of my thoughts on the Michael costume:

The costume really wasn't that bad. :rotfl: The only issues with it was it was very hot while the sun was still out. Which is why my sleeves are pulled up in all the day time shots. As the night went on and it got a little cooler it was quite comfortable. Looking back this was a whole lot better than the Captain Hook idea. I would have been burning up in that. Sweat would have probably been poring down my face in every shot. :scared:
DW & I had costumes for our MNSSHP visit last October but it was so hot during the day, we didn't even attempt to try and wear them later.

It was only awkward to walk around in while I was by myself and before we made it to the MK. Walking around in pink footie pajamas by yourself you just look weird and you just look out of place walking around the resort in them as well as well. :rotfl::lmao::rotfl2: Hard to look another person in the eye while getting on the elevator in your pajamas. :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl: Although a grown man in pink footie pajamas in the MK though seemed normal to everyone around us. At least seemed normal to me at the time.
Hey...you're from South Louisiana....just pretend you're in the French Quarter and you'll feel right at home! :rotfl2:

Okay, I know that is an obscene amount of HalloWishes pictures, but seriously it was SO HARD to choose! I just seriously loved these photos as much as I loved every single second of HalloWishes!
Not obscene at all. I just wish I could take pictures that great! I made the mistake of bringing a zoom lens during MNSSHP which was fine for the fireworks but not nearly fast enough for the BTY parade. What lens did you use? Your pics are fantastic!! Great update!!! :thumbsup2

Your Hallowishes photos are beautiful! It makes me wish I was there watching them right now. The Halloween party is one of my favourite events at WDW. I love the ambiance in the park and seeing everyone's super cool costumes. Excited to see the rest of your updates.

Hey Kristy! After my month and a half long hiatus from the DIS, I've finally found the time to get all caught up on your TR! So be prepared for TONS of comments!

First off, YOU HAVE LESS THAN A MONTH UNTIL YOUR TRIP! YAYYY!
I'm so jealous that you'll be in MK the day that I have to take my AP Chemistry exam. But I'll definitely be thinking of you guys and I know you're going to have SO MUCH FUN!

It looks like your Mardi Gras celebration was super fun! So many parades, so much awesome.:thumbsup2

Your Disney Jr. Live on Stage pictures are making me miss my childhood when it was Playhouse Disney Live on Stage. Bear in the Big Blue House was my LIFE when I was three years old and I may or may not sometimes look episodes up on YouTube for nostalgic reasons.:rotfl:

Celebration is just the cutest town ever. And that church looks so beautiful! I'm glad DS was able to stay calm and happy throughout the Mass!

Oh my goodness, I love how Paxton calls the castle "his castle" because that's really the most adorable thing ever. You've definitely got him hooked on Disney early! Which, I mean come on, is the only way to do it.:goodvibes

TTA is my second favorite ride and I'm 17! Don't feel old!

Hahaha Paxton's score on Buzz is very reminiscent of what I get every single time! I'm just Space Ranger challenged, I can never aim right!

THOSE TANGLED BATHROOM PHOTOS. SUCH BEAUTY. YES.

AHHHH Paxton's turtle floatation device is THE CUTEST. Like why have I never seen one of those before, I want one!

Your Halloween costumes. They are the definition of perfection. Y'all are just too cute!

Oh my gosh, how cute is that sword fight with Donald?! Paxton looks like he was having the time of his life! He gets to sword fight for real!

I'm so jealous you met Eugene. He is the love of my life. I must do that eventually. He and Punzie always have such cute meet and greets, from what I've seen and read here on the DIS, and yours was no exception! So adorable. And I love how Paxton proclaimed himself as Peter Pan. It melted my heart!

Frontierland looks like the PERFECT spot to watch Boo to You. I don't even know why, it must be the buildings and the lighting, but it looks so Halloween-esque. AHHHH the Headless Horseman is unbelievable! And so are the Haunted Mansion ballroom dancers!

I cannot wait to read about the rest of your night! If it's gone this amazingly so far, I can't wait to see what's in store!

The fireworks pictures are fantastic. I can't blame you for putting in as many as you did. In fact, thank you. :thumbsup2

I'm sorry that you weren't exactly comfortable with your shoes and make up. I guess that just goes to show how great your DH's costume was. Wouldn't you have liked to have been wearing some comfy pajamas by that point in the evening??? :confused3 :rotfl:

I just ran across your TR and I have loved reading it! I loved seeing Universal, because I haven't been there since I was younger. My nephews would love all of the characters there, so that might have to be an option in the future. All of the pictures are great! I love reliving my trips by looking at the pictures. We just got back a couple of weeks ago. :) We did MNSSHP a few years ago and loved it. I love seeing it in your pics. :) Loved all of your costumes!! And Paxton is such a cutie! I am glad he enjoyed his birthday at Disney! We spent my nephews 3rd birthday there and it is great to have those memories! :)

Yikes, I didn't realize I had fallen 3 updates behind. I'm all caught up now, though!

I must have been living under a rock, because I had no idea Flynn's satchel had Rapunzel's tiara in it. :confused3 Makes sense now...
That must have been pretty cool to see.
Not to mention, it's always exciting meeting your favorite Disney character. And a (sorta) prince at that! :goodvibes

The Boo to You Parade is a great show. That's awesome that Peter recognized you all, especially your DH. The perks of getting into the spirit of the party and embracing the costumes!

Love the HalloWishes photos! I won't lie, I now want to go put on the music for MNSSHP. :rotfl2:

Wow, your Wishes pictures turned out amazing, job well done. :worship:
Looks like your family had a great time. Your Halloween outfit turned out super-cute, sometimes you have to sacrifice comfort for looking good. :rotfl:

Thanks! DH did a great job!

We did have a fantastic night at the party. I was so worried in my planning about all of the things that could go wrong, but it was the best night of the trip!

Ah, the struggles of a girl- first the shoes now the makeup! You live and you learn I guess.

Oh my gosh those CTM and Wishes pics are absolutely AMAZING!!!

:rotfl: That was exactly it...sacrificing comfort for an authentic costume!!

Thanks!

When DH and I were going through pictures to narrow down the list of ones for him to edit, we got to the parade and fireworks pictures and ended up picking almost every single one!

I'm glad he changed his mind too, because it was fun to get a nighttime photo of the three of us at the party, even if it wasn't the best view of the castle behind us.

I'm so glad you guys liked Celebrate the Magic! I love it :goodvibes

Such great Hallowishes pictures!!

It's so great! I love that they can continue to add new things to it and make it different all the time.

Thanks!

As promised, here is a link to the podcast I recorded with Be Our Guest about my trip with my 3 month old DD this past November. http://beourguestpodcast.podbean.co...sy-suites-orlando-and-a-3-month-old-princess/

We'll see though...my mom is coming with so maybe she will babysit!

Thanks for the link!! I'll definitely listen to it soon! I know exactly what you mean. I hate hearing myself talk on camera too!

I'm glad you're enjoying everything! It can be a hard decision about taking little ones to the party. Paxton was so great this trip, and I'm thankful for that. We had considered doing the party when he was 2, but it might not have gone so well. Hopefully at least you & DH can go! It's a lot of fun!

What amazing photos of HalloWishes and the Boo to You parade! You really captured all the magic of those moments! That's awesome that you got to meet Dave!

I love that you can ToT INSIDE the Tiki Room. How awesome is that?

Yay for your Magic Bands! Makes your upcoming trip seem so real. Enjoy the anticipation and final countdown! :)

Thanks! Boo to You & HalloWishes are worth the price of the party admission, hands down. Hanging out with Dave was great! He's an awesome guy.

It was SO amazing to both meet Flynn Rider & to see what was inside the satchel. :goodvibes I had been reading that tip through several rounds of trip planning, but this was the first time actually getting to try it out myself!

We will be there 3 weeks from today! I can't wait!!

:rotfl: Glad to know I'm not alone in this!!

Thanks! It was nearly impossible to pare them down. DH did such a great job, both shooting & editing! They were definitely exchanging tips and seeing what the other was doing. ;)

I'm sure he won't mind sharing his tips! :goodvibes

I did seriously consider taking a ride in the stroller, but I didn't. I had even planned ahead with the moleskin, but I think it made things worse! Those shoes still give me blisters on the backs of my heels, even when I just wear them to church. No idea how I lasted as long as I did that night in them!!

Thanks

Those CTM shots are awesome! I love that show but I have a hard time getting good pictures of it!

And those Hallowishes photos, so pretty!

The tripod has helped DH a lot in getting better pictures of the nighttime shows. It's a pain in the butt to lug around with us, but it makes for pretty pictures in the end!

DW & I had costumes for our MNSSHP visit last October but it was so hot during the day, we didn't even attempt to try and wear them later.

Hey...you're from South Louisiana....just pretend you're in the French Quarter and you'll feel right at home! :rotfl2:

I had been really worried about the weather being too hot for costumes on our first October trip when we were thinking of going to the party. Thank goodness it cools off at night at the end of the month when we like to go! Being hot in a costume is no fun, I don't blame you for skipping them!

Your Hallowishes photos are beautiful! It makes me wish I was there watching them right now. The Halloween party is one of my favourite events at WDW. I love the ambiance in the park and seeing everyone's super cool costumes. Excited to see the rest of your updates.

Thanks! It's so funny because I've never been such a big fan of Halloween, but now doing these updates, I miss it terribly!! The party was so much fun. Definitely my favorite event at WDW too now that I have experienced it!

Hey Kristy! After my month and a half long hiatus from the DIS, I've finally found the time to get all caught up on your TR! So be prepared for TONS of comments!

Happy to see you back, Alex!

Three weeks from today, we will be pulling in at the Wilderness Lodge! I can't wait!! Sorry you will be taking a Chemistry test instead, those are NEVER fun!

It looks like your Mardi Gras celebration was super fun! So many parades, so much awesome.:thumbsup2

It was REALLY great. Hopefully we will be able to do it again soon, even if it isn't next year.

Your Disney Jr. Live on Stage pictures are making me miss my childhood when it was Playhouse Disney Live on Stage. Bear in the Big Blue House was my LIFE when I was three years old and I may or may not sometimes look episodes up on YouTube for nostalgic reasons.:rotfl:[/qupte]

I remember going to see a traveling Bear in the Big Blue House show with our summer camp one year when I was a junior counselor. I was too old for it to have been something I watched, so I thought it was a little strange at the time! But I know what you mean in a sense, I get the same way watching old shows that I used to love as a kid now that they come on Nick at Night.

Celebration is just the cutest town ever. And that church looks so beautiful! I'm glad DS was able to stay calm and happy throughout the Mass!

It's seriously adorable there! I think we are going to head out there again this upcoming trip for church. It was so great that he cooperated in church, because sometimes he can be a bear.

Oh my goodness, I love how Paxton calls the castle "his castle" because that's really the most adorable thing ever. You've definitely got him hooked on Disney early! Which, I mean come on, is the only way to do it.:goodvibes

Yup, he STILL calls it that!! Definitely getting him trained early. :thumbsup2

TTA is my second favorite ride and I'm 17! Don't feel old!

Hahaha Paxton's score on Buzz is very reminiscent of what I get every single time! I'm just Space Ranger challenged, I can never aim right!

Oh my goodness, YES! I'm so terrible at that game! I think that's why I like TSM so much, I can actually be competitive because I can actually see what I'm shooting at!

Haha! It's called a Puddle Jumper, and they come in all kinds of animals! So much cuter than those bright orange floaties every kid had when I as growing up!

Thanks! I was pretty happy with how our costumes came out. I saw a lot of Peters & Tinks, but definitely no other Michaels!

Oh my gosh, how cute is that sword fight with Donald?! Paxton looks like he was having the time of his life! He gets to sword fight for real!

Once he realized what was going on, he LOVED it! He always wants us to sword fight with him, so getting to fight Donald Duck while dressed up as Peter Pan was a dream come true for him.

They are seriously just precious. Perfect couple! They do seem to have the cutest of the prince & princess meets from what I have gathered here on the DIS. Maybe because most of the other princes & princesses are supposed to be all prim and proper, but they are just all about having fun!

Frontierland looks like the PERFECT spot to watch Boo to You. I don't even know why, it must be the buildings and the lighting, but it looks so Halloween-esque. AHHHH the Headless Horseman is unbelievable! And so are the Haunted Mansion ballroom dancers!

Although I drove DH crazy with how dark it is, being in Frontierland definitely added to the mood of watching Boo to You! The HM ballroom dancers and grave diggers were absolutely AMAZING!

I cannot wait to read about the rest of your night! If it's gone this amazingly so far, I can't wait to see what's in store!

LOVED THIS EPIC COMMENT!!! :lovestruc

Well, you're totally welcome! I loved them all so much, it was impossible to choose.

Oh my gosh, both of them definitely won out in the comfort department with their costumes, that's for sure! I remember learning from Grease that beauty is pain, so I figured out how to deal with it. :rotfl: I'm sure the real Tink has the same such issues!

Welcome! I'm so glad you are enjoying it and that it has given you some ideas about Universal. We absolutely love visiting there, and I really hated that we had to skip for our last few trips with DS, but we didn't think he'd do well spending a lot of time in the stroller since he couldn't ride a lot.

MNSSHP was better than I could have ever imagined! So fun!! You are right, it's amazing to make those birthday memories with them there, especially in the younger years when everything they see in Disney World is 100% real and magical! I didn't have the privilege of spending my birthday or any other time there as a kid, so I'm glad we have been able to do that for Paxton. :goodvibes

:rotfl2:

I only knew about the satchel from reading the DIS, and that you could only see it if you asked Flynn. I love that Disney doesn't just give him an empty satchel to wear! It was VERY cool meeting my favorite Disney movie couple. :lovestruc

All of the great reactions made DH and I both so happy we had chosen to wear costumes! Neither of us are big on dressing up in costume, so we would have been fine just dressing up DS. But it definitely ended up being a lot more fun to go with a family theme!

I don't blame you, I have been singing Boo to You for weeks doing these MNSSHP updates. :rotfl:

Ugh to the makeup and shoe fail. that is the WORST! Last year my wig started really itching during the party and it was driving me CRAZY, so I know how annoying those little things are when they become BIG things. Still, you guys look so cute in your pictures! Love them!

And the fireworks - OMG - so jealous. I wish I could do that. They are simply gorgeous. Some day I am taking the tripod and I am going to keep trying until I get it. Just lovely! More please!

I love your pictures from the parade! The Halloween parade is pretty awesome, I can't wait to see it again this year!

And OMG your Hallowishes pictures! So perfect! And your costumes, I love them! Ahhh I can't wait for the Halloween party this year! :cool1:
