I think we may have sold our house! UPDATED!

We got an offer last night, but it was $20,000 below our asking price, and they wanted possession by May 28. There's no way we could be out by then. My daughter, Sarah's, wedding is May 29, in Kansas. I leave on Sunday. No way could I get packed and moved to an apartment by Sunday (our new house will not be done until late July or August). We sent a counter offer back with the closing being on June 11 and a higher price. They countered back with a little lower price, but we must pay for all repairs found in inspection. We countered that we'd pay up to $1,000 of repairs (there's radon problems in our neighborhood, and that's the only thing that may need fixed.) We are waiting to see if they accept this offer. It's a cash deal, no financing on their part. We said they need to have certified funds so they are guaranteed.

So, I may be packing and moving when I return from Kansas on June 1. It will be nice to have it sold, but the timing is awful.

Wish us luck that the last offer is accepted, we find an apartment willing to rent month-to-month and it goes smoothly.

Good luck, I'm sure it will work out! We just sold our house (close June 14th give or take). It's such a pain! We sold it so fast, we didn't have time to buy a new one yet and they wanted us out asap too. We had to change that too. DD's dance recital is June 14th, not the same as a wedding, but still!

We are under contract!!!! It took quite a bit of negotiating, but we are both happy with the deal.

Now I have to find an apartment for June, July and part of August. We have to move out by June 11. That will be tough because I am out of town from this Sunday until May 31 for Sarah's wedding. We are having a garage sale June 5. Hopefully the apartment will be available the first of June so we can move, do the garage sale and clean before June 11.

Brandy, no relaxing here. I have to clean out the storage room this week. Then off to Kansas for two weeks. Then the wedding. The home for less than 10 days before we move.

I am excited though. The new house is smaller (less cleaning), but has great views of the front range, and no houses behind us (at least for now). It's a little out of town, so less traffic too.
