I love credit cards so much! v7.0 - 2025 (see first page for add'l details)

Same boat but WF, denied for the autograph journey. Never had anything with them so I'll see what the letter says when it comes.

Cap1 pre-approval only gave me the no af venture so I'll pass on that.

Think I'm just going to put spend on my dl and Surpass cards for now.

I do need to amp up my spend on the Surpass. I guess my car insurance can go on there. But I would like to get something out of my property taxes if I could, LOL.

Can't you cancel and then apply for a different SW Personal Card than the one you cancelled? That still works doesn't it?? That is what I have my SIL doing soon - so I hope so.
I think you are supposed to wait 30 days, and my issue is that it's less than 30 days before the offer is supposed to expire (September 17).

Is it still 30 days even if you apply for a different SW card then the one you are closing? I guess I assumed that was the case but now I am second guessing myself...

Could you apply and then recon after the 30 have passed since you'd still be in the recon window?

It's 30 days if applying for the exact same card. If applying for a different SW card, then 4 days.

Did you have to close anything before hand? I have a CIC (opened 2022), a CIU (likely opened 6/2024) and a CIP (opened 8/24). I guess I could close my CIC, and always PC the CIP to a CIC if Chase doesn't approve a CIC. Hmmmm. I'm really bummed BOA denied me (and shocked).
DH had a CIP opened in 1/24 that I closed last week. He has another CIP that I will close once the AF hits in October.

Instant approval for P2 on a Citi Strata Elite. Will be shifting some focus to the Citi ecosystem now they have the AA transfer option. Already have a couple other Citi cards and will likely shift more spend over there as I evaluate whether to keep the CSR/Amex Plat with their higher annual fees. Cap1 VenX could also be on the chopping block with the nerfing of PP benefits, but undecided on that so far.

I have not been keeping up on this thread in MONTHS. My only source of credit card news has been my FB feed and google news feeds, etc. (I plan to go back and try to caught up but when I have more time.)

In that time, since March 2025, we have decluttered, cleaned, staged and listed our house in NY for sale; closed on the sale; and packed all our stuff in PODs and moved everything down to FL.

We are beyond exhausted while we are surrounded by boxes, we have no energy to unpack and organize.

We have just been charging everything on our existing credit cards because I have not had the time or energy to research and apply for new SUBs.

We booked an expensive cruise for this December as our light at the end of the tunnel back in June when we listed the house. Just noticed that the final payment in the 5 digits is due the TA on 8/30/2025!!! For such a large amount, I will cry without a SUB.

My last SUB for the CSP was in July 2021 and it was my plan to get the CSR when the 48 months was over but I see on all the new feeds that this 48 month rule is no more and is now a lifetime SUB and people are getting in pop up jail like for AMEX. I was in AMEX pop up jail, btw.

No time to downgrade CSP and "try" for the CSR anyway at this point...

I am panicking and thinking of applying for the biz CSR for the 200k SUB after $30k spend.

I can probably meet the spend in 6 months. It's been a while since I applied for a card, so my stomache is in knots. I forget but do I need to unfreeze my credit for business cards?

Also, I changed my name from my maiden name to my married name (after almost 30 years) when I applied for my FL drivers license (last week), but ALL my Chase accounts and credit cards are still in my maiden name. I was holding off on changing them until I could sit down with a banker and also figure out if I need to start using my married name for work. The main reason that I never changed my name is because I use my maiden name professionally and in all my various businesses. I have business relationships with my family aka the "Smith" family, so it made sense that everyone in the family business was named Smith, if that made sense?

So, I am thinking I should continue to apply for the card in my maiden name so that it stays linked to all my other business cards and then potentially change them all at once in the near future (after approval and receipt of the new card).

This game we play is so stressful...

Any other suggestions or advice? Am I missing something?

TIA

This question is specific to JetBlue cards.

I have the no annual fee card.

I have a big dental expense coming up. I was thinking of applying for the JetBlue Plus card ($99 annual fee) to get the bonus miles that come with a new card, since I would easily be able to meet the Spend.

But the website says this: You may not be eligible for this offer if you currently have or previously had an account with us in this Program.

So I guess I can't do apply for a new card when I already have one.

I logged into my account on the credit card website, and there aren't any offers.

Since I have to pay the dentist anyway, I hate to waste the opportunity to use that expense for a Spend. But I'm only interested in earning JetBlue points.

Do you think I can apply for the JetBlue Business card if I already have the personal card? I actually am self-employed.

Or is there some other option I'm not thinking about which would get me a lot of JetBlue points for paying that dental expense?

This is a great idea if I have a problem!

Ah, this is wonderful news. I have the Priority, but I can totally go for the Premier or Plus since I'll be A list in october when the new program starts (which seems to have basically the same benefits as the Priority). I will cancel soon and give it a little bit before reapplying. Just need to check all my reservations before Sept. 17 just in case I rebooked something and don't have luggage. But the 100,000 points my way to a companion pass is worth it!

Both DW and myself have received the SUB for the JetBlue Biz whilst holding the personal so I don't think that should be a problem.

But you also have many options - Chase, Citi, Amex and Cap1 all have point currencies that can transfer to JetBlue. I think Chase or Citi are best as they transfer 1:1. For example: you could apply for a Chase Ink Preferred which would earn 90k pts. The Citi Strata Premier might also be a good option.

Darn it! I just applied for the Chase Business Sapphire Reserve card and got the dreaded they need to review the application page...
