Home again! Got in around 4pm. Left the resort at 7am. I slept a little later than I had intended.
The drive was fairly uneventful, other than a couple of minor construction slowdowns.
Gassed up twice - once for 2 gallons, once for 8 gallons on this return trip. Twice because as I approached a slowdown, there was an exit with gas for 2.39 so I pumped 2 gallons and took a backroad around the slowdown. I already knew that gas about 30 miles further was $1.84 at Shell, so I'll be da*#*#@ if I'm going to pay that much more at Exxon for my full tank. Yes, I know I'm kind of ridiculous to get all annoyed about $4, but - if I were filling my van it would have been $10-$11 difference. I almost think the people at the exit count on the slowdown to send them suckers for expensive gas.
Daughter is off this week due to spring break at the school she works at but returns on Monday - no students as she's administrative. We will see how that goes. Other daughter same deal. Younger DD can do her job remotely of allowed.
Son can work remotely also if allowed. So far he has to go in. He works at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. First time I took one of my kids there it was just called Bethesda Naval. The Comfort is being sent to New York to help in that crisis. Wonder where they'll find all those corpsmen needed to staff it?
Happy to be home but also happy to have taken my little trip. You are never guaranteed the next one. Spent lots of time with the grands and that is precious to me.
