Yeah, I think I messed up letting him wait until 18. He actually has no interest in driving and maturity-wise he may not be ready. I'm only trying to push this now because we're finding that college applications are asking for ID and he has none.
My DS only got his license at age 20 because I made him. Before that he had a state ID, looks like a license but isn't. He passed his test and really hasn't driven since. He has moved out of state and now it's time to renew (he will be 28) and he told me he's going to just get a state ID in his new state of residence! I keep telling him to keep the DL even if he's not driving, he may want to someday, but he is stubborn. Where is the pulling my hair out emoji?

FWIW, I hear Beijing is pretty shut down and residents pretty much stay home. Even if you took the chance, it wouldn’t surprise me if all the tourist spots are closed.
Yeah that is also something I was afraid of. If we got halfway around the world and couldn’t go to the Great Wall, Forbidden City, the temples, etc. the trip wouldn’t be worth it for us. It does make me feel a little better about postponing, but it still sucks.
Since we have a Europe trip planned next year, we’ll have to reschedule for 2022. DH really wants to go somewhere we can drive this year instead of fly, so we’ve narrowed it down to NOLA or the Keys. Any recommendations from the wise Dis’ers? We are usually pretty active on vacation, if that matters, and have never been to either place.

We've been buying prepaid Visa/MC gift cards as a way to put money back for our trip. Now I'm starting to wonder if that might be a problem as larger purchases don't allow you to use multiple cards. Like for tickets, we'll have enough balance, but spread across a dozen cards. Is there a way to pool those balances on a single card? Bluebird by American Express looks like it might work, but I'm not sure if the cards actually will be allowed to be deposited on there. Any easier way that I'm not seeing?

Questions for those that have booked Disney hotels on AA Vacations. I assume you get a confirmation number that you can add to MDE? Throw away rental car is still ok??
Throwaway car should cause no issues. I called AAvacations for my MDE number and they got it for my right away. Some others have had more trouble, others have called Disney Wholesale - so as long as your persistent you'll get it figuerd out.
I was curious so I checked our SW flights for May - our flights are both more than double what we booked for! Granted we took advantage of the SW change policy, but wow! I'm very grateful we got the flights for the low points that we did!
Anybody who used that loophole is going to be hard pressed to beat that. If you did it right you literally booked the absolute cheapest price on that route available, lol! 🤣 🤣 I checked my flight prices today but I was 99.9% sure there would be no savings...and I was right! :D
@SouthFayetteFan is probably working hard today. I think he did his trip under AA last month?
I continue to "work hard". Seriously guys... this is rough... literally focusing at work for 6-7 hours... I'm not sure how much longer I can do it. I got some deal flow going finally so hopefully I can knock some things out and get back on track for my goals soon :D :D

Thanks, that makes me feel better. My DS has some anxiety issues and doesn't "need" to drive right now. He really just needs an ID. I remember getting my license as soon as I could and being super excited about it, but he has no interest. Maybe he should just pursue getting an ID first and deal with the driving part later. I'm just concerned if I don't push him now, he'll never get it. Parenting is tough!

Wondering how others use the SW Priority upgrade benefit. I have 8 opportunities to use the 4 upgrades this year. Is there a spot in the boarding position that triggers it in your mind? Or usually save up and then use in the last 4 spots? Flying out today and have B2 and B3. I am thinking I will save for another trip. But curious how others make that decision.

I use it flying out of MCO, since we are usually in the B group. Have 4 more to use before DH cancels his SW Performance card in December

Can you get just a state ID card? I imagine it's the the same requirements but if he's not interested in driving right now might be an easier alternative. Or at least cheaper, maybe. If he gets his license would he need insurance? I know insurance laws can vary by state but here it's a pain to have a licensed driver in a household with a car and not have them included on a policy (either yours or theirs).

Always good to have a photo ID once you're old enough to get one. My friends that had no interest in driving got state IDs before leaving HS.

FYI: a number of reports of recently approved BoA business cards being closed...

This just further confirms that BoA is DEAD to me...

More BoA Biz card closed discussion here:

It's not necessarily the very newly opened either, this OP's cards had been open for 6 months or so. So far for some it's only select cards, and not the whole biz getting shutdown. Unfortunately with so few DPs at the moment it's kinda hard to figure out the rhyme or reason yet to avoid it. BoA seems to be fickle.

I was thinking that exactly. Like why I am even bothering to check, I knew I wouldn’t find a better price. But in the past when I did use that method, I have been able find lower prices for sure.

Wow. I guess he lives somewhere with good public transportation. As long as he continues living there I guess he is good. Though I would worry about vacations. There are just some you can’t do without renting a car. I guess there are probably many people who live in big cities that never drive.

I actually saved another 3,000 RR points...DS is flying 4/7 MCO to ISP...that flight stayed 7,619...but his flight back on 4/13 went down to 4,644 points

NCL is following RCCL's lead and updating their cancellation policy. Waiting for official publication but appears similar and covers cruises through September with future cruise credit good until YE 2022.
Yes! Got this email today (or maybe last night? It was a long week and I went to bed at 9pm!!!). Makes me feel 100% more confident putting my money down next month. Now I need a new card to meet that MSR!
