I feel better seeing DCL's policy. My cruise is 8/10, but my PIF date is this month.

Mine is in August, too, but I thought we had until mid-April for PIF. Hmm. Guess I need to check again?

ETA - I checked. We do have until mid/end of April. Are you sure your PIF date is really March?

Is flying out of JFK an option too? I don't know your dates but Austrian Airlines usually flies direct to/from Vienna there as well.
JFK is a hassle and a half (we live between PHL and BWI) but I will go check---thank you!

Just checked---yes there is a nonstop from JFK :cheer2: Leaving at 5:45pm :scared1: ...checks Waze, cries...

3 seats left, I'll think about it overnight and talk with dd tomorrow

:thanks::thanks::thanks:

I'm thinking about applying for a Capital One Venture. I got a mailer for 60,000 points for $3,000 in spend. It expires 3/13/20.
I'm currently 4/24 with 2 cards dropping off in August and another in November. I feel like I should take a little break from Chase anyway so I think I'm ok locking myself out until August. Is that a good sign-up bonus for that card?
Also wondering if anyone knows how Capital One is with MS? Could I do the Visa gift card/Serve thing with them?

In case it matters...

Maryland Governor Larry Hogan just held a press conference with regard to Maryland's 3 confirmed cases of the virus. All three were on the MS Asara which is an Egyptian cruise ship on the Nile River. They returned to Maryland on Feb 20. There was also some talk that 6 cases in Texas were from this cruise.

After returning, one of the individuals attended an event in Philadelphia which included children and staff at a school - in response to this Central Bucks County in Pa closed 5 schools today.

The other individuals attended an event at The Village at Rockville - a senior center last Saturday between noon and 6pm. These cases are in Montgomery County which is maybe a half hour from me.

It's 15 days since these 3 people came back into the community. My son and his girlfriend live in Montgomery County/Bethesda/Rockville area.

So who knows who may have interacted with these people before they knew they were infected? Two weeks is a long time.

I don't do MS at all, but yes, that is a good sign up bonus. DH and I each got one at 50,000 points. I then cancelled mine, he got an offer for an additional 50,000 if we opened a Cap One 360 MM and left a bunch of money in it for 3 months, so that is done now I'm thinking we could cancel his unless they offer a retention of some sort in lieu of the $95 fee.

I don't have a CSR, I have CSP, and Uni reservations come up as Loews Hotels, definitely code as travel. But all my WDW room reservations code as travel also. I thought all hotel reservations would trigger the credit, as long as it codes travel? Disney tickets don't come up as travel.

Oh, I was under the impression that room-only reservations didn't code as travel through Disney. Good to know! Thanks!

Yes because I booked through Costco so it is 3/29. Now maybe DCL's is in April so I really would have until then to cancel. But I have to make my final payment this month. No clue why Costco makes you PIF a few weeks earlier than DCL.

Huh. I had no idea. I booked through a TA but not Costco.

I don't have experience with that one, but many young people at that age don't have the required residency info. You may need to go with him and take your residency documents. Does he have a birth certificate from MA and a SS card? I would say call the DMV and ask but that often is a royal pain.
Yes, he has birth certificate and ss card, just nothing with his address.

Can you add him to one of your credit cards (preferably a business card if you/he care about 5/24)? Make a small charge and don't sign up for e-statement (or print off the e-statement)?
I do have him as AU on some personal cards, but I think only my name shows with our address.

I'm not sure if it's different because your son is 18, but my DD (16) got a read ID a few months ago and "direct verification by a parent or guardian" was all she needed. I was paranoid about that also, brought in my out utility bills, etc, with the address just in case, but they didn't look at them. I think for her, I just had her birth certificate and SS card.
Yeah, I think I messed up letting him wait until 18. He actually has no interest in driving and maturity-wise he may not be ready. I'm only trying to push this now because we're finding that college applications are asking for ID and he has none.

The magic band options for a hotel stay have been so skimpy lately. Today there were a few more but I have 2 days left to select and my 7 year old doesn’t like any of them:(. Over New Years I got him Stitch and he hated it. He’s not a generally picky kid but he loooves magic bands.

The selection is awful! They really should only let those 60 days out or whatever select so its not such a crazy competition.

The tour group sent us an email saying the choice was ours... for now they still have trips scheduled in October but if we were uncomfortable, we could reschedule at no charge. DH would rather reschedule at this point with all the unknowns. He doesn’t have a great immune system as it is, so he doesn’t want to risk it.
With the few reports earlier of people not being able to get through with AA, I don’t have too much hope. Thankfully the flights were booked on points so we won’t be losing cash money, but it still stings!

FWIW, I hear Beijing is pretty shut down and residents pretty much stay home. Even if you took the chance, it wouldn’t surprise me if all the tourist spots are closed.

I’m behind so not sure if you got it figured out yet or not, but I just added a confirmation number from AAvacations a couple weeks ago and can tell you what I did that worked. It’s in the email confirmation that they sent. Go down to where it says “your itinerary” and under that it gives a huge confirmation number that is two long numbers separated by a dash. The number that worked for me is the second number. The one after the dash. For me it was a 10 digit number beginning 1609xxxxxx. I can send you a screen shot if I’m not being clear enough. Hope that one works for you!
