I'm having a problem that I believe a few of you have had in the past with Amex. I met the MSR on my Delta Biz Plat back in June, but the SUB points have still not posted. I have been inquiring regularly by chat, but they have really just been stringing me along. Finally this morning they said that I didn't receive the SUB because my property tax payment was an ineligible payment. They then showed me the list of ineligible payments upon which they made this determination, and of course property tax payments was not on there. When I pointed this out, they said that my request had previously been raised up to their "internal investigations" team, and they had ruled it ineligible. I asked who I could speak to further about this, and they gave me a snail mail address in El Paso, which turns out to be their "General Inquiries" address. Crazy that in this day and age they ask me to snail mail something in. So I called in and the rep was helpful but gave me the same reason. I also told her that it was incorrect, so she is sending my case back to internal investigations for reconsideration.

Trying to consider next steps if this doesn't work. I don't want to let this go, especially since I haven't done anything here that was against any rules.

I've been looking in the app. When it launched for personal cards they were app only for a few months, I assume the biz cards might be too for now. I'm not seeing the offers section on the web in my biz account.
Thanks! I had the 15% Lowes on my personal card, but I couldn't see it on the website. No offers on my biz cards, but happy about the Lowes!

I just opened this account yesterday and am planning to have DH do his as soon as I can convince him to go in, so I can answer some of these questions. The only documentation I needed was 2 forms of ID - I used my driver's license and a Chase business CC. You also need the offer code that you email to yourself to get the $500 bonus. Other than that, the information needed was a mix of what is needed for opening personal bank accounts and business CCs. I had to answer general questions about my business (but not estimate total revenue, just said it was under $1 million I think) and what I would be using the account for: checks, cash deposits, wire transfers, etc, and about how much of each. I also had to tell them it was a sole proprietorship, what the business consisted of, etc. For me, the hardest question was an exact start date for my business. I knew the year and estimated the date. My experience was painless, my biggest problem was the banker was so friendly that she kept chatting with me and it took longer than I thought it would.

DH and I each have separate consulting businesses, so I told the banker about DH's business while I was opening my account. She told me to have DH make an appointment with her and she would open his account, too. Not sure what happens if you have the same business, though. Maybe each of you use a different banker?
Thanks for the response! I decided to just swing by while we were running errands this morning and open it. I also got a chatty banker, so it took about an hour to get everything squared away. Our only local branch just opened Monday, and the banker that helped me was here from an out of state branch just to help get things going this week, so I'm thinking DH will be fine to go back and open his own later.

I'd really like to open one of these accounts also, but the problem for me is that the nearest branch is 2/5 hours away in Tulsa (I'm in KS). I called to inquire what documents are required because I'd hate to drive all the way there if I can't really open it with my "business." The person I spoke to said I needed a paper showing I registered with OK. I did a little research and in KS you're not required to register for a sole proprietorship, so I'm waiting for a call back from a different branch to ask about this. I've opened Chase personal accounts before in OKC so I don't think being out of state should be issue, but not sure if it's different for a biz account. I so wish we had a Chase branch her in Wichita! There's supposed to be one coming to KC in 2020, which would be nice because we have family we like to go up and visit there.

I'm also in KS! There is a new branch that opened in Leawood on Monday. I had looked over the weekend for the closest branch and saw that Tulsa was it, but when I checked to verify that was correct yesterday, the Leawood location popped up as an option. I didn't need any paperwork as sole proprietor, just my social.

Weird that taxes would be an issue. My dh is using his new Amex to pay property taxes, but he’s also using it to pay for a stateroom on a cruise so he should be way over the msr when all is said and done.

@snugglebug - just on our Amex accounts.

DD picked up some subs at Jersey Mikes earlier this month using her Amex AU, which stimulated the $5 offer, with a remaining $13.66 to be paid. So this shows on both cards, on mine to be paid and credited, which it has and I have a zero balance due. Zero to the left and zero to the right at top of page

On DD's account it shows balance due $18.66. On the other side of the page, it shows a $150, which was what I charged and paid last billing period. This is on DD authorized user card. All has been paid and credited on my account. So I click this tiny little 'i' by the $18.66. It says does not include any credits.

So what a somewhat confusing system. This card draws directly from my checking account, and it grabs the money and runs. So why this 'balance' showing?? My other Amex's and all other CC's go through my bill pay. Takes them forever to put up a credit even if paid in one day.

I think Amex needs to return to their prior web format.

Got my Amex gold retention offer. 15K mr for $2k spend in three months. I accepted. Not ready to part with it. It's too pretty.

I hope I am as lucky. I've put the majority of my spend on this card and it's paid it's way but a retention offer would be icing on my cake. Mine won't come due before Dec as I got it late November last year.

:offtopic: But does anyone know anything about Hale vs Statefarm? I tried googling but I didn't see a lot of info. I am just skeptical when I see checks show up in the mail. Afraid to cash them in case of a scam. lol Seems weird to me that I would get one in my name and DH in his name also. Anyone?

ETA - I now found something that said checks were mailed out this week. So maybe it is legit. Sweet.

The AU card does show the $105 I spent on it on the left. I never look at it, I only log in that acct to check for offers.
The primary, which should show the amount with the credit deducted, isn't displaying properly. It sounds like yours is reflected the way it should be. I do need to spend $100 at Lowes today on the AU card so we'll see what that does to it.

My DD worked all summer to pay for a Global Health mission trip to Ecuador. She let my other DD pay for it on her new CIP and she paid her back via paypal when it was a Discover category. Win/win for them both. However, this just happened and now one week from leave date the trip was cancelled! She is so sad. They are trying to scramble and put a last minute trip to Belize together. She will find out more today. However, it won't be the same mission type work. They were supposed to work in hospitals in Ecuador and they will not be doing that in Belize. She is pretty bummed about the whole thing. They are trying to get the money refunded, I think if she goes on this other trip it will just transfer over to those expenses. But she wasn't sure if 100% of the costs would be refunded. I am just glad this didn't happen while they were already in the country.

Update to my DDs trip to Belize - Their original Ecuador trip was supposed to be I think Friday through Sunday. The last minute Belize trip was going to be shorter, Sunday through Friday. Last Sunday their first flight was delayed 45 minutes. They landed in Atlanta as their connecting flight was taking off! Next available flight, 24 hours later! Delta put them up in a hotel and they were off the next day. They ended up just spending a few hours in downtown Atlanta, I don't know why they didn't do anything fun with their time there. So they lost a whole day in Belize on an already short trip. Fast forward to today, flight out was supposed to be this morning, and they are showing an over 4 hour delay at this point. If they fly out at that time, they will land at 9:00 pm in Atlanta and last flight to their connecting airport is 8 pm. So at this time, best case scenario is another overnight in Atlanta. She is not a happy camper right now. But I think she did enjoy her trip, she said to ask her again when she finally got back to campus if it was worth it. lol I am still not sure how the whole refund thing worked out or if this trip just takes it all away.

I've only put about $1,000 per month on mine.

Update on my AA flight to Puerto Rico that I was able to cancel with no penalty because there was a significant flight change. These flights were paid with numerous low denomination AA GCs. I was hoping I would not receive the credit in multiple low denomination GCs and I did not. They did issue back one AA GC with the funds. So glad that all worked out ok.

I did go to a restaurant two nights in a row at a horse show once (small town, only place there). The first night I handed them an Amex and they took it no problem. The second night, I handed them they same card and they tried to tell me they didn't take Amex. I told them I paid with the card the night before and one of the waitresses said "I knew I thought I saw an Amex in there last night." Apparently they "take" Amex, but their boss tries to get them to tell people they don't....

My hair salon is like that. It says "no AmEx" on the credit card reader but one day, I wasn't thinking and put my AmEx in and it took it. My stylist said that it will take AmEx but they don't want to because of the fees. I get it, and most of the time I have a Visa that I'm working on a MSR for anyway.

I've paid property taxes several times to meet Amex MSR with no issue. Feel like it's just an excuse. From reading DPs, seems sometimes the SUB just glitches out. But when you ask about it, all they do is give you the run around. Sometime down the road, they may do an internal accounting and suddenly you get your points (along with a whole lot of other people).

Hope you eventually get your points! Wish I had better advice. :(

I wonder if SW ever actually enforces the 7 and under policy. It reminds me of the so-called express lines at my grocery store for people with 15 items or fewer, where I always seem to end up behind someone with a totally full cart. I once asked the cashier, in super-nice, just-curious way, whether they actually enforce the 15 items rule and she said no, they weren't allowed to say anything to people who weren't choosing to follow the rule.
It’s like a preboard. Anyone can request one. They won’t tell you no. We did it for years cause my dd has a severe peanut allergy and I needed to wipe down everything and clean the floor under her seat. Most of the time, when I asked for a preboard, I explained why but if I didn’t, they never asked me.
