Quick question. Got the amex delta with the nice sign up bonus - thanks to advice here (which i hit quickly due to car repairs!! ). If I want to gain status (silver) by spending do I need to spend 25K or 50K ? I am confused by the charts. Any of you gurus know?

Congrats on the new card! To earn Silver status:

Silver Medallion requires 25,000 MQMs OR 30 MQSs AND 3,000 MQDs or $25K spend on the credit card.

100%! And the AP has the same effect. So when DD3 and I go alone to disney, I cover our hotel with discounted gift cards that i cash out URs for, use CP for her flight and SW points for mine, and no tickets needed. It makes it really easy/tempting to go A LOT!

THIS! is what lead me to the hot seat and got me a two year ban. I totally almost took DD for a weekend trip before our AP ended but figured that it would have had to be a one way deal for me at that point. However I am back and planning 2020. I knew she could not stand on that foot for long.

Thanks guys. I was actually out of town at a gig when it happened so it was crazy to hear about it over the phone. I got a text from my wife that literally said. "Ran my arm over with my car. Car is wrecked. Ouch" with a picture of her in the back of an ambulance (she does have a great sense of humor). She had gotten all the way out of the car to see what she hit and it was going to quickly for her to jump in so she tried to dive in to push the break with her hand. The door knocked her over and the tire went over her arm. Our kids were in the back of the car. DD8 jumped out while the car was in reverse and turning towards the house (DD10 stayed in the car til it hit the tree). So yeah. This could have gone worse in so many ways and we are counting our blessings. We are so grateful things turned out the way they did. I hope my previous message about the MSR didn't make me seem like an insensitive selfish jerk. She was actually excited yesterday to bring up the points and meeting MSRs were as a silver lining. She is amazing and besides a sore and very black and blue arm things are kind of back to normal already.

Oh my goodness. This really is a crazy story. So glad everyone is okay!

It says it excludes single tickets, but has anyone who has added this offer to your Amex account had success receiving the credit for ONLY tickets? I highly doubt just buying tickets will trigger the $100 credit since packages are booked differently on the USO website than tickets.

Well its good to see that Disney IT has not improved any. I was fearing a glitch free trip. Been on hold now for 30m to get my account corrected. When they added the second reservation they created all new profiles for DD and DW, so I am sure I wont be able to do FP's for them past the first stay as they don't have tickets linked.

Any reason I shouldn't buy an apple watch 3 on walmart for $189 plus whatever other discounts I can scrounge up? I am starting back to work soon, and need a watch for counting respirations, etc, and thought an apple would be great. I am not one to need the latest tech, so if there isn't anything major I'd be missing out on, the 3 is fine.

I have a 3 and DH has a 4. The main difference that I know about it that his has better protection against water damage I believe. Otherwise, I don't think he uses any features on his that I don't have on mine.

1. SW Performance Biz Card -80,000 SUB
2. Cap One Spark Cash Biz Card - $1,000 SUB with $10,000 spend in 3 months.

I was 3/24 the Sp[ark Biz Card puts me back at 4/24 even thought it is a Biz Card. But I have another card dropping off December 1, so will be back at 3/24. Normally I would not get 2 cards with this much spend but I know I will have 2nd Semester Tuition Due and will just pay early to get the SUB's.

Are both of these cards OK to Venmo?

I was good and waited over 3 weeks and then sm'd chase yesterday that I still hadn't gotten my PP card. I should have it by the end of the week. Why they can't figure out that it doesn't auto send on a PC I don't get.

It doesn't autosend on a regular signup either. You have to go in and sign up for the PP program and request it. Is that what you mean? That you thought just getting the CSR automatically sent the PP card? If not, then disregard me.

Looking at applying for the Marriott Bonvoy Bold card. Just want to double check that I am okay to get the SUB. The only Marriott/SPG card I have had and received a SUB for in the last 24 months is the old AMEX SPG card-not the Luxury card. Language excludes if you had and received the Lux card bonus in the last 24 months. Does not mention the regular old SPG card, but just wanted to double check that I am okay to receive the SUB before applying. Thanks as always!

Not a techy person so not much help. But I do own an apple 3 watch and like it. But no idea what the difference is with the newer versions. I just chimed in to say that I bought it on walmart.com. At the time it was advertised as a new series 3 apple watch. When it arrived, the pieces (band, watch, charger) were in individual bags with chinese writing on them. Contacted walmart, since it didn't come in nice apple packaging. They said to keep it and refunded the money. I use my free (?refurb, stolen, who knows) apple watch daily. The battery lasts much longer than the original apple watch I had.

When you pc something to a csr after you've pc'd your csr to something the PP still shows as activated, there's no other way to donit but sm them. My card in the PP app shows expired because it's tied to the old csr.

Interesting. I plan on PCing soon. Will have to remember this. So it doesn’t work electronically either? May move up my PC date so I know I will have card when I need it.

You guys, I did it! I booked our flights to Sydney!!


This morning while doing my usual United availability stalking, I saw 2 seats for the almost perfect flight----J leg on Air Canada from EWR to Vancouver, 2.5 hour layover, and J leg to Sydney. I couldn't believe my eyes! And it's on my dh's birthday

I had enough URs in my account so I just needed to do the transfer to United.

Now to just get us home on one of our preferred two days
