We got a unique offer code in the mail from Disney today. It’s for this summer until August 28. I looked and the deals really don’t seem that great. I’ve gotten better deals on third party sites than these prices
What’s the offer code for? I agree. They seem to have plenty of rooms open for the summer and they’re trying to entice but the prices are still so high.

Any mention of what month the DIS trip will be? Also any mention of how that trip might differ from the regular itinerary, if at all? I'm gearing up to book the December regular departure (but am not 100% sure about traveling to Egypt (safety concerns) so not certain I'll keep the ressie beyond the time period for a refund of the deposit.

They don't have any of that info yet and didn't know exactly when they'd have it. The biggest thing is needing to email John about interest to get onto the list because they'll be able to fill it from the list. So if you may have any bit of interest it's best to email and wait for the info to come out.

They have their moments lol

OMG...cat story! Last night I was awake every hour and had to leave early to babysit the grands so the sitter could go to an appointment. So, around 5, one cat made a big scuffle soon joined by the other cat. In the dim light I saw him with something in his mouth and I'm in my bed so I'm sort of freaking out. Then he dropped the item and I was sure I saw it move.

Meanwhile I'm yelling/screaming because I don't like even the idea of a strange creature whether it be spider or good heavens a mouse in my house so I have a guy for that - Orkin comes regularly.

Finally get the light switched on and Cat is sitting there with the thing in front of him.

The thing? A brown paper napkin crumpled up....

The cat was confused at me but immediately rebounded, demanding his breakfast 2 hours early.

Ebates offering 15% off at so many stores, and I can't find anything to buy!

I bought DS jeans at American Eagle. I have to order his size online anyway. I also bought the backpack on Ebags. And if anyone can recommend some super comfortable great sandals for high arches I might spend more money. I have been looking for comfortable, non old lady ugly sandals forever. I am too the point where I almost don't care if they are old lady ugly. I loved my Teva flipflops forever, but the last 5 or so pairs I have bought are not the same as they used to be. I keep buying them hoping it was just that one pair that are off but they keep disappointing me.

My CIP #2 was approved yesterday, referred to via my own CIP link. When should I expect to see the referral points? Would tonight be too soon? They usually post on Tues nights, is that right? This is pretty sad to say this is my first referral :)

Oh, also, My DH's CSP AF just posted, I told him we should PC it instead of cancelling, CFU seems like the best option, correct? No SUB (so no opportunity lost there), 3% cash back the first year (does this apply to PC's?), and no AF.

Whoa... I just got a call from 1-800-935-9935. I didn't recognize the number so I let it go to voicemail. Googled the number and it's Chase's fraud department for checking and savings customers, except the voicemail they left was in Mandarin. These scammers were able to spoof Chase's number. (I've also received calls from a spoofed Social Security Administration number before.) Be careful folks.

Thanks @Lain. Unless I have the number marked, I let it all go to voicemail. Soon our phones will either have to have some kind of enhanced security or they will be useless.

In NYS....even if your number isn’t called to report it counts and you can’t get called for another I think it’s 7 years...not sure how other states work

I’d call since you have received them in 2 names

It's been over 7 years since my last summons. But I wonder if getting my license renewed is what triggered it.

So, I just redeemed some AA miles and used my latest card's $250 travel credit for actual flight and car through the AAvacations site. I didn't want to do it because I need all that for WDW but it's a situation where better to do it than pay cash and actually better flight options on AA portal.

Long story short - my MIL went for a shot in her back about 6 weeks ago. To help with back pain. Doctor nicked a nerve and she immediately lost all feeling below the waist. Had to have emergency surgery to relieve a hematoma in her spine. Hasn't been able to move her legs or any feeling below waist since. Was in ICU for 3 weeks, then moved to a rehab facility and in a few days is moving to a different one. They are going to have to sell their 4000sqft 2-story and get a small ranch. My dh needs to go back to help his dad in about 10 days.

Was super thankful to have the miles and travel credit. SOOOO much cheaper than cash for flight and car!

So sorry to hear that. Prayers for your mil.

If I want to go for CIP #2 and the Barclays Aviator Biz does it matter which I do first? And do they need to be spaced apart? Last card was way back in late December and the CIP would put me 4/12 6/24 (those include 2 biz cards so not really over 5/24) with Chase.

This is so terrible & scary. :( I hope she will have some improvement soon.

CONGRATS on your first one! Your first time is always special ;) :lmao:

Tonight would be too soon - you usually have to wait a week or so - Chase isn’t a prude but they aren’t exactly a hussy either :rotfl2:

I follow TPG on twitter (I know, I know) but sometimes they have useful info though I do try and read it on DoC instead. But all of these tweets about the new vlog are 100% more obnoxious than he and they normally are. If it continues each week or whatever I'm going to have to stop following them. We get it, you have a lot of points, are self serving, make a lot of money and your brand is you flaunting all of this, it doesn't make you good at what you do especially since you give all the info away and ruin it for others. :badpc::badpc:

@Judique love the cat story, too cute though I know it wasn't at the time. Love that they wanted breakfast early, typical cat :cat: My neighbors had a great calico when I was growing up, she'd purr and just wanted to be loved on. But she also liked to bring your presents like dead birds, moles that were still alive, a snake, a lot she took into their house too. She'd occasionally bring stuff to my mom if she was outside working in the yard.

This is awful. I'm hoping she gets better. Not to be crass - and I am not this type of person usually - but I think you and your DH should be looking at some lawyers. At least have a few in mind that you could suggest to your FIL. What a horrible situation.

Thank you! She's only 68yo and fairly active before so kind of a shock and no one was really ready for this. They were told she should have feeling back in a couple weeks but nope. We'd been suggesting for years that they downsize but they didn't want to and now they are being forced to and it's much harder.

I'm so sorry about all of this. I hope she recovers from this, at least somewhat.

I plan to have print outs of every single hotel reservation as well as our plane tickets just in case. The printed one for that reservation will have to be our email because I can't access it on our Chase account. I used to be able to see it on their, but I can't find it anymore. I'm too nervous to cancel it because I wouldn't want to risk losing those points.

We have a hotel booked on Chase points for next week. I know that the reservation is not showing up on DH's Marriott account, but we did call about a month ago to confirm the reservation. Now I'm getting worried, too.

Oh no. I'm so sorry to hear about your MIL going through that. Prayer and pixie dust being sent.

I don't think you are being crass (and @wendow has already posted that they sought legal help).

The reality is that a life changing event has taken place and very few people are already equipped to deal with a sudden onset situation - especially medical ones that change a person's ability to fend for themselves. There are extra expenses involved and needs to be met. I'm sure the doctor did not set out to have the procedure go wrong, but unfortunately in this case it did and the patient deserves to be able to receive help in covering costs through insurance. I've had the same doctor for 26 years and I know he would not set out to hurt me, but if an accident happened and I needed the help I would sue the practice. I'm actually dreading the idea that he might retire soon, but he does have other doctors in his practice.

My FIL already contacted someone. And case has been filed. The lawyers told my FIL they’d let him know if they needed anything else after he sent all the medical records. Said these cases can be wrapped up quickly or take years. It really is a horrible situation.
