So I convinced Dh to go out with me today and play in the snow because I’m a child like that. I made an awesome snow fort (chair?) if anyone’s interested.

Reminder to everyone that today starts the Shop Disney Friends & Family early access discount for Disney Rewards Visa cardholders!

I may or may not already have a cart full of merchandise :rolleyes1
I wonder if that puzzle is an eligible purchase... I could use the savings to build the bigger wall I'd need to hang it :p

Chase thinks I have the memory of a goldfish...
"NEW Offer, earn 5000 bonus points" when you upgrade to IHG Premier and make one purchase.

NOPE! Same cruddy offer you've been hawking for months, nothing new about it, still not an interesting offer. Especially since the other week they invited me to apply for the new card for the 80k bonus... hm, 5k or 80k? (I'm still taking neither as I'm happy with my $49 AF.)

I was shocked too! I can only hope the image is better on their computer screen cuz almost anyone can use mine. It reminded me of my pool hall "membership" card where they used the cheapest webcam attached to the oldest computer I'd seen in a long time... I half expected it to print out on a dot matrix but nope b/w inkjet at least :teeth: When I got the GE card in mail I laughed when I opened it and thought I need to keep it separate so I don't grab the cruddy pool hall card by accident... I don't think that has the same authority, hehe.
The picture that prints out when you use the GE kiosks at customs is equally as bad. I think they must be doing some type of facial recognition between the two. (I remember when The Universal on-site hotels had the picture kiosks for the Express pass and those pictures were the worst ever.)

Just app'ed for my dd18 her own CIP as a day care services biz :) She does babysit. A lot! Just not always in the day lol!

She got the 'we need more time' response but no 30 days or other timeframe. I think I got this before but cannot remember the outcome. Anyone know?
That’s the message I got but when I called it said 2 weeks. Hope she’s approved sending some pixiedust:

I'll try again in the morning :) So curious after someone here posted that they read 18yo twins got CIP's (maybe @Lain) to see if my 18yo can get approved lol.

I can't take credit for that story. I think it was @gottalovepluto who saw it in DoC's comments. I will happily take credit (but only if your DD18 is approved :thumbsup2) for telling you to go big and have her apply for the CIP since she has her own child care business and income! Fingers crossed for you. I mean, her!

NOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Bonvoy, Starwood Purple.

P.S. My SPG cards are still SPG and Purple in Apple Pay -- for now.

P.P.S. I'm going to keep using my purple cards until they expire. My newly pressed SPG Lux replacement came in yesterday.

I guess I didn’t know this. We only got the cards for our Japan trip so I don’t think we will gather too many Hilton points then

If you use your card and earn Hilton points they reset or use the Hilton shopping portal and earn points or transfer MR into Hilton they reset etc.

TPG notices all the chatter about the Amex airline fee credit not working on something they know it’s technically not supposed to work on. Asks AA, and writes an article about it.

I'm pretty sure he lives in Miami or at least had a house here that was selling for over 4 million. While I've never run into him at the Centurion lounge or AA Flagship lounge, I suppose he is currently safe from me throat punching him on sight for that article on his blog, don't care who wrote it, it is his blog. Not because I fear arrest for assault or anything. Simply because he is 6' 8 and I am 5' tall. But that doesn't mean I wouldn't be thinking about throat punching him and it's the thought that counts right?

Counter DP... ;) :)

I’ve been playing this game in some fashion since 2011. I’ve been hardcore since 2015. 2019 is going to be one of my most lucrative years. I know numerous others here have been at this for years. Banks will always need new customers and the signup bonus isn’t going anywhere. If you’re savvy and resourceful, willing to adapt, and up to speed on the rules, the game will go on :D

Very true. I started in some fashion in 2009 but discovered a better way and been at it hardcore since 2012. I think you and I have been at it before the existence 5/24, Amex lifetime, endless Barclay and BoA cards, Citi 24 family rules, the death of easy MS like the Mint, Amazon payments, Red Bird, the birth of RAT, Chase shutdown etc. Hasn't slowed either of us down. Granted, if AA GCs via Amex statement credits are no longer viable, I'll be pissed but still find another way.

Not directed specifically at you but this is another reason I always advise having a detailed spreadsheet of all points.

We've had a lot of discussion here recently about Theft Of points. Well you also want to keep track of last activity and any potential expiration dates on points...Here are the fields I have in my spreadsheet for this:
  • Program Name
  • Person (i.e. me, wife, daughter1, daughter2)
  • Points Balance
  • Date of Last Activity
  • Expiration Date (calculated based on last activity field - you'll need to look these up for your various programs)
  • Info As Of (date I last logged in verified everything - so if something is ever wrong I can pinpoint when the change occured)
  • Approx. Value (calculated based on my valuations
  • Notes
  • Membership ID #
I then check all of this info monthly or more frequently.

Off the top of my head here are some expiration policies:
  • Southwest = 24 months
  • Marriott = 24 months
  • Hilton = 12 months
  • IHG = 12 months
  • American Airlines = 18 months
  • Delta = NEVER (wow you go Delta!)
  • AMEX MRs = remain active as long as you have 1 active MR earning card
  • Chase URs = remain active as long as you have 1 active UR earning card
These are the programs I'm actively tracking so I don't know details on others like Hyatt, United, etc...

This is great. Thanks. I do check my points frequently and use an old fashioned "paper and pencil" spreadsheet at the end of each month. I do not calculate approx value though.

As far as the CIP. Are there any additional fees for adding "employees"? And would it draw attention to the account by doing so...:magnify:

Is there a way to tell when you added someone as an authorized user to one of your accounts? DH recently applied for the Chase Ink business unlimited and I’m pretty sure he is under the 5/24 rule, but he is an authorized user on some of my accounts and I’m not sure when he was added.
