ABD Egypt - Tipping and Accomodations for 3

One thing I can confidently say about our company is DO NOT book them if you don’t want many early mornings. We’ve had several 2 or 3am ones already and another meetup at 3:30am tomorrow, then they are taking us to the airport five hours before our flight at 8:40 the next day, so we’ll be up at 2:30am again.

Thank you for this information. The AM meetings definitely will not work for us since we will have a teenager and a young "adult" that like to sleep until noon, no matter which time zone they're in.

We just spent 2.5 days in Egypt two weeks ago. Flying from Heathrow so it's only 5 hours and no jetlag. It was a quick trip to see the new magnificent museum in Giza.

Just asking as we were considering ABD for future travel to Egypt but would arrive early to help with jetlag. Traveling out of Canada expensive ttrip.

Have you considered nursing the jetlag in a different country before going to Cairo? Flights from Rome, Paris, and London are about 3.5, 4.5, and 5.5 hour-long, respectively.

Going through Cairo has always been very stressful for me. I can't imagine doing that while exhausted.

Hi this is not related to tipping or accommodations (so do let me know if I should start a new thread), but could I ask if anyone in your family got sick (e.g. "mummy tummy")? Just wondering if this is a common issue or more rare, especially with ABD's services and lodging. Thanks in advance!

We didn't have the tummy issues, but we only stayed in the country for ~72 hours. We used bottled water for teeth brushing and I carried a lot of Purell wipes, travel soap sheets, and hand sanitizer. We only ate hot food from our hotel which was 5 minutes from our destination.

This was a private trip, not ABD.

In Egypt, I was always careful of what I ate until the last day. Instead of pealing an orange (safe), I grabbed a quick glass or orange juice from the hotel buffet (unsafe). It was probably frozen concentrate mixed with tap water. I later regretted my choice.
