I know we have a few folks on here that use Swagbucks. I booked 2 rooms at the Waldorf Astoria in Vegas many months ago and went through swagbucks as they had the highest portal cashback. I was afraid it wouldn’t track since I paid so long ago and honestly forgot all about it. The transactions finally tracked and I got just shy of $100 for the two rooms, about 7% cashback. Just wanted to remind folks to check Swagbucks when booking travel. I was about 60 SB shy of cashing out and found a survey that put me over the top so I could cash out via PayPal.

Nice $100 bonus to hopefully offset the AF for P2’s CIP #2 that I just applied for. Still pending at 30 days but hoping for good news on the status line soon.

Edited to add. I booked the rooms direct through the Waldorf Astoria site and they were an advanced purchase rate.

Oh wow! I assume RR points towards the companion pass reset in January? And the companion pass is good for the remainder of the current year and then the following year? So I would need to apply for the SW business and personal cards in January to be able to use them for 2020 and 2021?
You would want to apply for them between late October and early December, depending on how easily you will meet the MSR so that you earn the bonus on them in Jan 2020.

Around this time last year, I did an upgrade offer on my Blue Cash Everyday to Blue Cash Preferred. I see a "renewal membership fee" showing in my activity which I'm assuming is the fee for the BCP since the year is up, but the charge is only $3.90 instead of $95. My original plan had been to downgrade back to the no-fee BCE after the year, but if they're really only going to charge me $3.90 to keep my 6% back on groceries I'll keep it as is. Does anyone know why the fee would be reduced? For context, the BCE was opened in 8/2015.
You will be charged that prorated fee for the remainder of 2019. In January you will be charged $95 for 2020.

Sooo I think I have just talked myself into upgrading my 3 day October PH to a Signature AP.

I don't suppose, when I go to upgrade it (at the ticket booths... bleh) that will code as travel on the CIP? (The original PH I got on UCT did, thank you good people on this thread for telling me that).

Or, wondering if it would be worth it to start buying Disney GC's now and use THOSE at the ticket booth to pay for the upgrade? I generally don't buy the Disney GC's because I use mobile order a lot and you cannot add those to the mobile order app.

Either way, it's going to finish off my MSR on CIP#2 in case I was going to have trouble meeting it.

We upgraded to APs on our trip last week at guest relations at AK. Charged it to the room. Coded as travel on DHs cip and finished off the spend.

DH just applied for CIP and he got the "decision pending" response. He wants to call right now, I said wait. What is his next step?
You can call the automated line to check 1-800-432-3117 and follow the prompts to see what it says...since today’s a holiday it may take a bit to review the application

Oh that’s cool! Wish I could do that but we are staying off site (DL and not WDW so off site is not a big deal 😁)

Any benefit to calling tonight vs tomorrow a.m.?

He is a skittish P2. Happy to travel on the points and proud of my planning, but reluctant to actually apply himself. So the "pending" stresses him out!

Absolutely understand..my DH will not make calls or do anything ...But he’s fine with me applying for cards under his name since he loves to travel and with points we can
You can call the line whenever you want since it’s all automated and you don’t speak to a person....

Perfect, thanks!

It will code as travel if you charge it to your hotel room. If that’s not an option go the gift card route.

ETA: ah, charge to room not an option. Go the gift card route.

Just an FYI for anyone on the fence of doing a Delta Vaction deal. I have on hold a July vacation now after booking earlier last week our Spring break. I will probably book July (and just pay for the insurance in case want to cancel) but I learned two things. First, you can change your resort and that part of the package anytime up until 30 days before the trip. (Which is when the balance if any is due). Only airfare is not changeable. Second, you can call and make payments. On my spring break trip I didn’t want to use all miles so owe about $1000. It did code as travel on the CSR. (Hello, $300 travel reimbursement). Today I put another $100 down on my Arrival Plus. If it codes as travel as well I figure I can pay for the trips with no/minimal out of pocket cost.

Do you know if you can book one way flights by calling in?

Status line says 2 weeks for P2’s CIP #2. Hopefully that’s a good sign.

Award travel advice/help if anyone is bored and wants to sanity check.

I need to get from somewhere near the UK back to Detroit (DTW) on July 18, 2020. We’ll be visiting friends north of London post cruise. We’re pretry flexible where we fly out of as long as it’s a short positioning flight from the UK. We can fly in the evening of the 17th if needed for lower cost. I’m trying to avoid the high fees I’m seeing when I search. We waited a bit too long to book our return flights since we were waiting to see if family was going to join us (they’re not :worried:).

I have over 500K URs, 130K AA miles, and 122K MRs.

Thank you in advance for anyone willing to take a look.

The highest fees seem to be flying BA through LHR. Have you checked flights from Dublin? We are planning to fly from Paris next year to avoid the very high fees, but that may not work with your plans. Also, check out awardhacker to see what flights might work for you, and then you can see what's available.

ETA - We are finding the AA miles worthless for good flights without tons of stops, but those MRs or URs will help. Between those two you have so many airlines to choose from.

I don’t know if you could or not. The rep I talked too today was super helpful more than once she said they would work with me on it. It would not hurt to call and ask. She did say on the package I put on hold that they would run it again before I booked it and if the price did go down that is the price I could get. Hoping they run the deal again or extend it again...it would be great for our October WDW trip.

I'm really considering booking a Delta package. I may consider one for Jan OR my dd17 may be performing in the CP in December. She's stay with her choir at a value so we'd need a room for 5. I want to book one airfare for my dd19. She might actually take the flight lol but probably not cause the options from DEN stink something awful. Most likely, I would book one flight and a room that would sleep 5 and then call Disney wholesale to add us all (minus dd who is singing...). AND then we'd all fly SW. Is there any problem not showing up for a flight? People miss flights all the time so I can't imagine this is a huge issue.
