Just an FYI for anyone on the fence of doing a Delta Vaction deal. I have on hold a July vacation now after booking earlier last week our Spring break. I will probably book July (and just pay for the insurance in case want to cancel) but I learned two things. First, you can change your resort and that part of the package anytime up until 30 days before the trip. (Which is when the balance if any is due). Only airfare is not changeable. Second, you can call and make payments. On my spring break trip I didn’t want to use all miles so owe about $1000. It did code as travel on the CSR. (Hello, $300 travel reimbursement). Today I put another $100 down on my Arrival Plus. If it codes as travel as well I figure I can pay for the trips with no/minimal out of pocket cost.
Thanks for the details! I've been playing around with options for next summer. So tempting to be able to use points on Disney tickets, but the uncertainty around bridging to AP gives me pause.

My Chase Bonvoy biz AF posted. What are the benefits to keeping that card? We kept 3 of the 4 old spg/spg biz cards so we have 3 - 35k FN certs.

Two major differences:

- $99 AF on the Chase Bonvoy Biz vs. $125 AF on the Amex Bonvoy Biz.

- 35k FN cert from the Chase Bonvoy Biz posts exactly on the anniversary date vs. 8-12 weeks later on the Amex Bonvoy Biz.

Just caught up - did a quick skim of all the posts today. Didn’t want to fall too far behind! Had a great day at Cedar Point (this was a quick trip with my parents and I). Park was much busier than last year’s Labor Day trip but with Fast Lane it was a great day with minimal waits. If you live near Cedar Point - I always highly recommend it. You can even stay “on-site” at Breakers and it’s a super nice resort. (It honestly reminds me of Beach Club a little bit). I could see spending a bunch of days here sometime in the future. I also believe the resort and park tickets are on the UR portal.

The staff there is great! So much better than our local park (Kennywood) in Pittsburgh.

We weren't charged the AF *YET* on the amex biz. I cancelled my dh's but I'm pretty sure the AF was only $95. I was gonna keep mine for the $95 AF. How do you know if you will be charged $95 or $125?

Can I take the 35k night FN cert and still cancel and get the AF refunded?

@Lain OT if you are around in the next bit. Is there anywhere inside DL to get galaxy's edge stuff aside from inside GE? Friend will miss world of disney since it closes when the park closes but there was a shirt there she wanted that wasn't in GE. Trying to see if there's anywhere else she can look. It's her last night there leaving early tomorrow. TIA.

Amex raised the SPG Biz AF to $125 as of 3/28/19 If you opened the SPG/Bonvoy Biz after that then you were charged a $125 AF in the first year (not waived). If you had the SPG Biz prior to 3/28, you should get one more year grandfathered at $95 AF, then I believe the AF increases to $125.

Did she check Launch Bay? I am not sure if they're still selling GE merchandise there but I was there during the reservation period and there was a lot.

Merchandise in SWGE is all designed to be “in universe” like it looks and belongs in the story of GE. So there will be no merch with the Star Wars logo or labeled Galaxy’s Edge. You’ll see First Order, Resistance, Black Spire stuff “in Batuu” that is exclusive to SWGE, so your friend isn’t likely to find anything in SWGE outside of the land. However, Launch Bay and Star Traders in Tomorrowland have a lot of “Star Wars” merch and merchandise that have “Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge” on it.

Thank you both!! She knew she wouldn't find it in GE but hadn't found anything SW in the park outside of GE. The DLR app doesn't have the shop function like the WDW app does where you can search for something and find out where they have it.

Another Delta Vacations update. I just noticed the flight and room information shows up on the Delta app. I got onto MDE and in an amazing feat of it being way too easy the systems talked to each other and the reservation number listed was what was needed for MDE. Easy peasy.

I'm really considering booking a Delta package. I may consider one for Jan OR my dd17 may be performing in the CP in December. She's stay with her choir at a value so we'd need a room for 5. I want to book one airfare for my dd19. She might actually take the flight lol but probably not cause the options from DEN stink something awful. Most likely, I would book one flight and a room that would sleep 5 and then call Disney wholesale to add us all (minus dd who is singing...). AND then we'd all fly SW. Is there any problem not showing up for a flight? People miss flights all the time so I can't imagine this is a huge issue.

I don’t think it would be an issue as far as missing the flight. Based on my above experience you might be able to add the family to the room anyway without calling Wholesale. Plus as long as she was on the room unless there has been a change I have missed you all would still have the 60 day booking window. Since you have AP’s now you won’t have them difficulty of having tickets linked for fast pass purposes.

I think if I do confirm our trip for July I think I will do it for 3 of us and book the room for 5. Come October I will have another companion certificate to use and would like to use it instead of effectively cash price for 5. Plus if I do that it seems even better deal.

Waiiiit. I can use AA miles for something at WDW?
Yes! Resorts are appearing on useaamiles.com and aavacations.com. They had gone away for a bit and returned just recently.

If I recall AAV requires hotel + flight or car. Cars currently can't be reserved past 7/28 (as of today), but the resorts can be booked on useaamiles through the rest of the year. From my checking today aavacations with car is the better deal.

I have not seen DL resorts on either site.

Off to research! Thank you!

It is officially 9/3 and my personal Plat was approved on 6/2. I think I will apply for CIP3 when I get home from work :jumping1:
Ooooh sounds exciting :D Good Luck!!

Oh Hey - it's September guys!! I am 0/24 now... All the way back from 31/24! What a ride it has been :D During those 2 years I still got 8 biz cards and between my wife and I we got 20 cards total (18 biz and just my wife's Sapphire DD on the personal side). So I'm 0/24, she's 2/24 and the churning world is our oyster!!
