I really feel like I should finish this night so I can post my last day. I wanted to drag things out a bit longer, but I have to share my last day with Cynthia because I did something super, super cool at the WL. It was Disney magic at its best. Yes, I know that Cynthia is not leaving yet, but I will be leaving next weekend for a week in the Outer Bank and then Cynthia will be leaving. There is wireless at the OBX house, so I guess technically I could update on vacation - but will I?????? I just don't know!
So when I left off last we had finished a very long dinner at Ohana and we were finally entering the MK at 8:50pm, possibly later. Chuck and Cathy saw everyone lined up for the parade and they decided they weren't going any further. They found themselves a couple of spots along Main Street. Denny and I decided that as much as we wanted to see the entire parade, we REALLY wanted to ride some rides. It was to be our last night in the parks. We needed to get our "ride on" and we only had an hour to do it.
So we walked in and out of the crowds down main street and headed to frontierland. Splash mtn was down when we tried to ride it on Monday, so it was now or never. We jumped in line and were in a log in no time. Of course, our ride came with complimentary red neck photos.......
We were in a fun boat. Everyone was obviously enjoying themselves in our boat. Well, everyone but those two folks in the front seat who were obviously trying their hardest to avoid getting wet.
After we got off of Splash we decided to go straight to Big thunder. Oh, how I LOVE this ride at night. Night is the best. I tried to soak in all the atmosphere and laugh my head off as I got jostled and bumped around. When we got off Splash I could see Spectromagic off in the distance, so I took a few really crappy photos.........
I know these photos stink, but considering I was taking them from near the exit of Big Thunder, I think I'll keep them. I zoomed as far as I could go.
Denny and I went right back on Big Thunder. There was no line and there was no sense in trying to see the parade. We would never find an acceptable viewing spot. So I am happy to report that Big Thunder was just as good the second time. We loved it.
When we got off the second time it was getting dangerously close to park closing time. I could see people off in the distance making a slow crawl to the front of the park. We weren't about to join that procession. So what did we do? Need you ask? We got back on Splash for our final ride of the night. It was so fun. We got to catch bits and pieces of Wishes and there is nothing better than seeing fireworks light up the sky while you are circling Splash Mtn in the calm night air. For a few brief moments I actually imagined that we might be able to get in one more ride, but I was clearly hallucinating. It was well after 10pm when we exited our log.
We hit the restrooms to kill some time before we started our final procession to the front of the park. I did take some pics as we passed the castle......

You can never have enough castle pictures, right?
It took us quite awhile to reach the front of the park, but it was worth it. 4 rides in an hour was worth the trek to the back of the park. Chuck and Cathy spent the time people watching and they were still at the front of the park waiting to meet us.
When we exited the park we were right in the thick of the crowds. The line to the monorail looked like it was 1/4 mile long and the crowds trying to get to the boats didn't look much shorter. We decided to split up and Chuck and Denny waited in line for the monorail while Cathy and I waited in the painstakingly long line for the boat to the Poly. I knew we had picked the slow route, but I honestly didn't care. I was just glad I didn't have to handle small children and a stroller, as many of the other Poly guests did. So I counted my blessings as I waited to return to the Poly.
Just as we were getting off the boat I got a text from Denny that said, "Where are you? We are waiting in car". Denny never texts, so I knew he must have been in a hurry to get out of there. I didn't care. Cathy and I slowly strolled through the Poly taking in the nighttime sights. We actually ended up walking into Captain Cook's. It wasn't intentional, but once we were in there I noticed that the had soft serve pineapple dole whip and I had a bunch of snack credits burning a whole in my pocket. I informed Cathy that I had to have some NOW. What a great way to end the night. Cathy and I slowly walked to the parking lot with our dole whips. Sorry boys! LOL!
As soon as we got to the car Chuck seemed anxious to get out of the parking lot. The only problem was he had no idea where he was going and the gps was giving him multiple false directions. He was half listening to the gps and half impatiently driving around in circles. Cathy and I didn't realize the fiasco that was unfolding in front of us. We were in the back seats enjoying our dole whips. After one particularly rough turn we both looked up to see what was going on. I could hear the gps giving a tirade of continuous directions in the background.
Finally, after chuck went around the same circle three or four times, still failing to find the exit, the gps blurted out "IMPOSSIBLE". Denny started to laugh, "Did she just say impossible?" We all realized at the same time that our gps, in her prim proper Mary Poppins accent, had indeed said "IMPOSSIBLE". OMG....talk about falling into a fit of uncontrollable laughter. We were all laughing so hard (and choking on Dole whip), that we couldn't even see straight. Finally sanity ruled and we turned the gps off and found the exit to the Poly parking lot. My stomach hurt most of the way back to the WL.
Next....a few photopass pictures and our last day! The infamous WL tour aka a date with Ranger Joe!
