I hope the Treasure is not like the Wish

We never really looked into the Wish since we prefer longer cruises. I finally watched a You-Tube video with a full tour of the Wish and I was so disappointed. We have only been on the Dream and the Fantasy and we love both with the decor, the layouts, the staterooms and just the overall warm feeling. The Wish seems too contemporary and cold. The verandah stateroom didn't seem to have nearly the storage of that on the Fantasy. Also the 1 bedroom suite on the Wish has a strange layout and doesn't seem nearly as luxurious as the Fantasy. Please understand that I realize everyone has different tastes and I don't mean to be condescending towards those who love the Wish. I'm hoping that the Fantasy will continue to do 7 night and longer cruises. Anybody in agreement or is there something wrong with me, lol?

I just got off the wish on Friday. The ship is very beautiful but has a strange layout on all the outside decks. I will sail on the treasure just to say I have done it and seen it. After that it would probably be the fantasy and dream. Nothing wrong with magic and wonder also. If it has a very good price I will be back to the older ships.

I was in an inside stateroom and it had plenty of storage. I don’t remember how it compared to the fantasy been five years since I been on the fantasy.

There are many people in agreement with you but I’m not one of them. I’ve sailed the other four ships several times each and I’d like a change. Even with its quirks, for me, none of them rose to the level of not wanting to sail the Wish again as long as it’s at least a 7 day cruise and the destinations are acceptable.

To the title of your thread: the Treasure is going to be a lot like the Wish. They are sister ships (along with the yet-to-be-named third Trion class ship). The layouts will be very similar, although the theming of the rooms, restaurants, bars, etc. will vary. But it'll be very similar structurally.

We did b2b cruises on the Wish and didn't like it. Felt crowded, weird layout, no designated adult bar area, Adult pool is more like a hotub in the very back of the ship along with Cove cafe, stateroom tv is hard to watch from the couch because it's in front of the bed and not adjustable. Not a fan of Marceline Market place either.

I find it interesting you’ve come to dislike something just by a video without the experience. I for one am glad I didn’t listen to all the negativity here about the Wish. It was indeed a beautiful ship, bright where the others come across as a bit darker. I didn’t care for the size of our room but we enjoyed the trip. Are the differences enough that it‘s noticeable such as the buffet layout? yes. Is it enough to bash it and say I’ll refuse the Treasure and never sail on the Wish again? Absolutely not. I for one am glad I step to the beat of my own drum and not others or I would have missed out. If one goes into something looking for issues, you’ll find it. I’m a firm believer that one should experience something themselves and decide for themselves. There’s been a lot of opinions about the ship compared to others that I’m surprised there’s yet another negative Wish post all from a you tube video. And I’m sure you’ll find plenty of folks who agree with you but that’s my 0 cents worth. 🤷‍♀️ On a side note, there seems to be a lot of negativity going around lately. Holy smackers.

And the Treasure looks to be the darkest of all. That main area is WAY too dark for me.
I think/hope if you're going by the reveal video they were just playing up the lights down low reveal for effect. Even at the end when they have more lights up the lamps put out more lighting than the overheads. It won't be as bright and airy as the Wish, but I'd be shocked if it actually as dark as the CGI video makes it out to be IRL. That works in a lounge, not an atrium... if they try it I'd bet money on them swiftly making changes to that due to complaints.

I agree-we did not like the Wish, especially the layout. Love the Dream & Fantasy.

We see these same threads in regards to WDW resorts all the time.
People are so tribal when it comes to "their" favorite resorts or cruise ships, that they feel the need to bash anything that threatens to take the shine off their precious. That's all this amounts to. Haha
We've all known it's the exact same ship as the Wish for years now. SMH

The Wish is stunning- but she doesn’t work IMO as a cruise ship. The layout is off, especially compared to the Dream and Fantasy.

There are good things about the Wish - pool food, best pirate night imo, and I even like the multi pool for families layout in front of funnel vision (would be nice if at least one was a deep as the Fantasy \Dream). I enjoy the look of the bathrooms in the staterooms.

But so much doesn’t work imo. I hate the lack of a true adult district as things seem to quiet down even more than normal for a Disney cruise in the evenings. Luna being opened where kids can hear match your mate passing the lounge isn’t a great feeling. The bayou is lovely but with a lot of foot traffic and the venues for trivia always seemed swamped.

All that being said I was hyped to book the Treasure- until I spent 8 nights on the Fantasy. I kept trying to picture how the Treasure would handle extra sea days- the adult pool is so tiny, lack of shade in the adult area, Trivia venues filled quickly on the Wish and with more time to fill I wondered what events they would have. On the Fantasy I often had to pick between events I wanted to attend- on our Wish cruise we had time to kill between activities.

I love the Jungle cruise but I was hoping for something like the Adventures Club (I miss it) not the Bayou level of theming (minimal even if lovely). I was hoping the would adjust the high end retail store space into other venues but that doesn’t appear to be the case. Even dedicating the front Chip and Dale pool to adults only would help (but so far nothing).

1923 is a wonderful restaurant but it does feel very tight. I don’t want two nights (or more) at Marvel or even Coco (one dinner show is plenty imo). They also didn’t share anything about the anticipated Haunted Mansion bar or what the stage shows will be.

As I have a teen, I’m going to focus on the Dream and Fantasy as the Wish’s Vibe (and I assume it’s sister Treasure) is a major downgrade. I’m also surprised they didn’t change up the kids club at all to have slightly different areas but that’s just me.

I’m sure the Treasure will be stunning but I really wonder at her functionality for these longer sailings.

I agree with the notion that the Treasure seems too similar to the wish, I am also skeptical about some of the choices they made, and am curious how these overly stylized show venues will work on a 7 night cruise....

That said, we are booked for May of 2025 and I can't wait!

I've heard horror stories about the Wish's elevators going to specific floors and depends on which elevator bay you use. Personally, I've never been on a cruise because I am frightfully claustophobic, so I am last to talk.

OP, did you catch the Disney Treasure feature on Disney+? That might be a good resource.

Really? We were on the Wish maiden voyage in an inside stateroom and thought it had the least amount of storage of any cruise stateroom we’ve ever had.
I thought it was enough. The closet area was enough room for me to put all of my clothes and wife’s clothes. She packs a lot also. Now I liked the table better on the fantasy and dream where you put your dirty clothes in. The wish table was a joke had stateroom host removed it from room.

Is adventure going to be considered triton class

The Wish is different from the previous four ships, for sure. Not necessarily better or worse, just different. If you are used to the first four DCL ships, then yes, the Wish will seem odd. Can't speak for the suites, but the "regular" verandah staterooms are very similar to the other ships. We did not feel that storage was lacking on the Wish.

Sure, on the not-so-good side: there's the lack of a running deck; tiny movie theaters; seemingly smaller main theater; glitchy Adventure game; sketchy Diamonds International on board; and questionable lounge positions and layouts.

On the plus side: the Festival of Foods on the pool deck is really good--pizza is open late!; Enchante's Collection menu is fantastic--maybe a bit better than Remy's; nice Murphy beds--way better than sofa beds; elevators seem deeper--but use the stairs to save time; the indoor sports area makes some sense--it can be used while the ship is in motion; AquaMouse!; crab at Marcelines; and you can walk to the very front of the ship.

All in all, the Wish is just different. If you can afford it, try it out and decide for yourself. It is a Disney cruise, after all, how bad can that be?
