I got a Xyron 500!

A new Michael's opened an hour from me and I had a 50% off coupon so I got it for $20. I've been wanting one for little die cuts and letters and punches.
I got a replacement cartridge while I was there and I got removable because I tend to want to reposition things. But I noticed it isn't checked on the side of the box for scrapbooking, even though it is acid free. Does it just not stick as well or what? Should I return it or have some of you used the removable kind?

My DH got me the Xyron 850 for my birthday last year (isn't he the best?), and repositionable is the way to go. The first time I bought a replacement cartridge I got permanent by mistake, and it was a disaster! I haven't had any problems with the repositionable and it really great with small punches, letters and other small embellishments. Do not go crazy like I first did and put everything through it (pictures, frames, etc.) or you will need a lot of replacement cartridges! Good luck, I'm sure you'll love it as much as I love mine!

thanks for answering! I plan to use it for little pieces that are a pain to get adhesive on. Hey! Does it work well with vellum?

I just bought the little 150 and I think it is going to be a great little tool. My question is when you are making your punches do you put your paper in whole before you punch or do you punch first and then run it through.

I have the little 150 and I punch first, then pop it through the machine - it works fine for me, althought I haven't put anything really, really tiny through but I imagine it would be fine.

If you put a strip of card or paper through before punching or
cutting, it could end up being quite wasteful, dont you think?
