Back when I was playing Unreal Tournament online heavily, my handle was "Buttery Pat".

Not many people got the reference, but a few did.

(For those thoroughly confused, Buttery Pat was The Breadmaster's henchman, who was basically a walking stick of butter in a 3-piece suit. The Breadmaster was a supervillian whose love of baking and natural ingredients and bitterness over being kicked out of cooking school combined to make him a force to be reckoned with. He existed in "The City" along with The Tick.)

If you haven't seen the cartoon The Tick episodes - see them at your earliest opportunity. It's easy to spot the villians - they always have pointy fingers!

I tried a couple of photography forums, but they were so full of pros that I felt completely alienated, even on the good boards where people didn't come down on the newbies.

The only photograpy boards I visit these days are this one and themagicinpixels.com, since they are both Disney-specific and very nice to the newbies.

The photography boards are tough. They make our Community Board look tame.

I do like to read those boards, as I learn things. But I'm usually too squeemish to put my toe in the water.
