...she doesn't know the difference between a room at the Contemporary Resort with a Bay Lake View and a room at the Bay Lake Tower with a Bay Lake View. This is frustrating.

I am looking at potentially changing weeks because of the FD and she is very confused as to which rooms are comparable.

Are you trying to stay at the Contemporary or BLT? I don't like studios so we always do the a frame, and I enjoy the Bay Lake view more than theme park. I'm sorry you have a confused agent on the phone. Maybe they are exhausted from all the craziness this week, lol!

This is why I book online and don't actually book my room until the promo I expect if Disney wants my business comes out. Then I don't have to phone to try and change anything.

We are currently booked at the Contemporary but would love to change to BLT if a one bedroom were available.

Can you even book BLT I thought it was vacation club only?

Rooms at all the DVC villas are available for cash, subject to availability, of course.

They are not necessarily included in all the promotions.

Doesn't surprise me. I waited for almost an hr this morn only to get some guy who not only told me that there were absolutely no moderates available for fd that since I was arriving on Nov. 29th, I would only get one days worth of FD since that first week of Dec. was blacked out. I calmly explained he was giving wrong info and said I'm hanging up now and calling back to get someone a bit more knowledgable and luckily for me, I did!

bingo!!! I once called wdw dining, and found out that the Cm I was talkig to lived about 5 miles from me in Illinois. and had only been to WDW once, and I knew 10X what she knew. we had a nice chat, but it went like this :

ME; blah blah blah.
HER: really? I didn't know that!

etc etc.:rotfl2:

Yes, I have been on a forum with work-at-home phone agents that take Disney calls. I believe they do both room reservations and dining. I think that if you call to make changes, you may be dealing with non-WAHM because they always seem most knowledgeable and have been able to push our dates back a few days before check in without an extra charge and without much hold time. I assume wherever that guy was he must have a manager nearby because he worked some magic for us LOL!

Interesting - I, too, had a similar experience. A couple of weeks ago I got a very nice young man who lived in - LOS ANGELES - and, get this, had NEVER BEEN TO WDW.

Worst of all -- I was using the travel agent specific line! Go figure.

I gave him a 10 minute overview of the parks/resorts, which he appreciated, then suggested he request WDW give him a training trip to the area he is expected to service. Yesh!

Most people who regularly post here can attest to the large variablility in resort booking CM quality/knowledge/experience.

You can often tell within the first seconds of talking to the CM whether you have a good or not-so-good one (sometimes, when I suspect I have a not-so-good one, I'm tempted to hang up and call back).

In any event, I always go on-line shortly after the call to make sure the reservation looks right. I'd say about 30% of the time, something (even if relatvely minor) looks wrong. Sometimes, this has to do with a limitation of the website (i.e., it wasn't the CM's fault). But often, it's apparent that the CM missed something (I've noticed that this is most likely to happen when you're making a change to an existing reservation that will ultimately result in less $ going to Disney ;)).
