I am now ANGRY!!!!

Actually my understanding was that they were now waiting to distribute RSR FPs until the regular park opening (so not during EE). Perhaps people ignored instructions from the CMs and made a line to wait in line? I've heard various stories about that.

And I would have been fine with a late night FP. It's a beautiful ride late at night.

I suspect that our widely different views on all of this has a lot to do with our widely different touring styles. You go at peak times and we don't. You take breaks during the day and we don't. We love to repeat headliners and you don't.

Yes, that is what I said. They started issuing the FPs when the park opened at 8, but there was already a line at the distribution point when we walked past it at 8.

Our solution was to use the single rider line, which allowed us to get 3 rides on RSR, 2 of them at night.

And, yes, it was established a long time ago that our touring styles are different, and of course that is why our views are different.

But would have other guests?

If they wouldn't be OK with it, then I guess they'd pay for an onsite hotel next time, like so many people in that line did.

Or perhaps they would use their magic morning (comes on any 3 day or longer ticket) to line up and get an earlier time.

I would LOVE to stay at one of those cheaper offsite Harbor Blvd. hotels. But I like to have early entry. So I pay more and get the perks that come with it.

OP Last year there was a glitch in the system when the S&D first came onto the 60 day window. For 3 nights in a row while away on a trip I was up for 3 nights at midnight going nowhere so I completely understand your anger.

People have no right telling you how you feel or how you should feel. Your thread title clearly states how the post is going to be so if you don't like it don't read the thread.

Well I will certainly start paying attention to signatures. I generally glance at stuff below lines as...how many times this person has been to disney, or links to personal photos, etc. I have kind of stopped paying attention to that stuff so I just never noticed or perhaps even looked. I will now know to check out the stuff you have because it obviously has some valuable information.
I've set my preferences up so that I don't even see them.

That must have changed during the peak season. For some time they weren't "allowing" people to line up at all until the actual park opening. I was skeptical they could keep that up for long though.

Sounds similar to the justifications for FP+.

I actually agree with you here if that is what the recommend is.

But even within this thread, someone posted you would get no headliners. That is the fear and hysteria. Spreading mistruths that getting on at midnight is required for anything. It isn't true and never has been.

But, if folks would stick to the recommendation that A&E is pretty much necessary to do at midnight and mine train is a probably at 30/60 for best chances (and wishes and parades)--there would not be much of an issue. That is an Approrpiate strategy suggestion.

But there are many headliners than those and being on right at midnight is not required. We have gotten all we desired including mine train-save the above other mentioned things--with out heeding the proclaimed "requirement" (eTA: but signing on at 30 days first thing in the morning). And this is for 6 people. (I book us all together and seek a change if 2 or more are unable to ride.)

*again, we just began using our APs Nov 30th, so it remains to be seen if this trend continues. But so far, it has worked just fine. My biggest issue is securing a BOG reservation. I was successful this morning once I realized my computer would work better than my iPhone. So at 6:05, I did get am ADR, but way too late on the 9:00 hour. Will try again another day.

Everything depends on the crowd level during the time of your visit. I couldn't book a Wishes FP+ over my Easter trip 60 days out. That is NOT fear or hysteria, it is a fact. I could get 7DMT however because that has more capacity and I was also only looking for 2.

Perhaps Disney should just change up the window time every day. That way there would be no insider information on start time. I'm not so sure anyone would like that, but it's certainly a way to stop the complaints when the start time changes by an hour.

I sure hope the OP was able to get their FPs by now. :)
I'm sure he did. Not only did posters reply within a couple of minutes of him, a tech-guy, posting this rant, I also began a "Conversation" with him to notify him of the 1:00 am booking window. I also bumped the 1:00 Booking alert thread for mesa for the 2nd time last night... it was bumped a total of 3 times. No response from him, at all.

My feeling is he saw this thread: http://www.disboards.com/threads/cant-schedule-fp-for-march-16.3379933/, and figured all the same posters would need something to do today!:hyper2:

Since these threads are not stickies (and I understand the reasoning behind that), signatures are the best way I have to communicate them to the masses. That, and timely bumps.

LOL, so you think that would result in fewer complaints?

You must have misread my post.

This thread has given me some thoughts. I'm not calling anyone out, just offering another option.....

What does it matter SO MUCH that a particular experience MUST be done? Are people seriously spending thousands of dollars and multiple days/weeks at a destination just for one approximately 5 minute experience? Has anyone thought of not staying up all hours waiting for the window and then seeing what there is when you wake up? Then if whatever is not available you either tell the person that wanted it, "I'm sorry but there were no FPs left for that, so your options are we can spend an entire park day waiting in line for that ONE thing OR we can spend the rest of the day checking out other fun things to do." Or if it is a child that didn't know to begin with, you don't tell them anything and then if they see at a park, you explain what happened.

If you want to tell me that this event is "ALL" your party wanted to do or "were really really looking forward to" and you can't do without, then perhaps you are creating people that are spoiled to having all of their expectations met. Call me crazy, but not everyone gets EXACTLY what they want EXACTLY when they want it and EXACTLY how they want it to happen.

There are how many people staying on disney property and in the parks on any one day? Hundreds? thousands? Millions? Do the math....people have different FP opening days than you. Not everyone with reservations/tickets is going to get to ride/meet "exhibit a" on May 1, 2015. They might not even get to do it during their time there from May 1-May 5. That's when you have an alternate plan.

I may be thinking crazy, but I am betting there are other things to do at Disney. I dare say there is even more than one park to find things to do! And resorts too!

In fact so far it looks like some have 'liked' it.

Just as an aside (otherwise know as a random thought)...this new like feature is interesting. I've been looking at them now and again and oddly enough, it seems that I can very accurately predict just who will and won't like specific posts. Trying to figure out how it is I'm able to do that...maybe I'm psychic.

Thread started out with folks explaining why the Op experienced what they did. If the posts that followed bother you, you are welcome to not read them as you have no right to tell people when, where, and how they should post.

No psychic ability needed. I imagine there are a number of posters here with that same power.

I said in a thread a while ago...a 10pm window opening time would seem to satisfy most people. It isn't as late as midnight for the east coast. It's 7pm for the west coast - well after regular work hours and even after most regular dinner windows for both coasts. It might not work out as well for those coming from Europe/Australia...but IMO, whatever time should be based on the country WDW is in, not overseas. As someone else said, WDW doesn't promise a time, only a day. 10p eastern is just as arbitrary as anything else, with a lot less inconvenience for the vast majority of guests.
