Lucky people who have to be up at 1am- that's 6am here!!! I was up ungodly early on New Years Eve to make fastpasses, and Mine Train & A&E were still available later on when we did the rest of our fastpasses as a family!

I actually would prefer 6 AM. I have to be up then anyway and wouldn't have to interrupt my sleep.

1am is the middle of the night to me. I'd MUCH rather get up at my normal 6am to take care of Disney business instead of the middle of the night.

I was in Jamaica when my window opened last October. It was 10 more days before we got home and I started picking them. I don't feel like I missed anything.

That's why I think this is generally a solution looking for a problem. When I made my FPs for the week after Easter, I checked for the next few days to see if I could change one of my MK FPs from BTMRR to Anna and Elsa and I could. So, at least then, for a party of 3, making FPs at midnight 60 days out would not have been necessary.

Just because a problem doesn't affect everyone doesn't make it less real of a problem for those it does affect.

Personally midnight doesn't bother me. I'm usually up then anyway (the joys of insomnia). I can still understand why it doesn't work for others and see potential solutions that would make their experience better without negatively affecting my own.

So maybe that means that you don't have to have a temper tantrum when FP+ screws up a little???

I did not harm any animals in my post, nor did I throw myself on the floor. Just because someone gets mad and says something about it does not mean they threw a tantrum. I was pissed and posted about it. So what? Get over it. I am sure that when something does not go your way, you rant too, we are all human here

You may not know it yet, but here in pixie-dust land, the use of all-caps and multiple exclamation points is the rough equivalent to a fully-automatic weapon with the safety off.

LOL!
You'd do it on the 60th (30th) day out. But you already knew that. Silly ol' bear. Remember what Einstein taught us. Time is relative. You can pick any day you want. 61. 60. 59. Doesn't matter.

Day 60 at 10pm is 22 hours later than it is now. So you need 22 hours cut off so that it is more "fair".

I don't really think it matters which way they do it.

I am confused by the "loss of 22 hrs" statement. Even if they did move the window to 10p *on* day 60, e
it would change for everyone. It isn't like some would be able to book at.midnight, and others.would hace to wait til 10pm...everyone who is eligible to book would be waiting til 10pm. So what loss is there?

Let me explain (no snark, so please do not assume any):

There are 24 hours a day and every day of the year begins at midnight.

To move the time to 10pm, 1 of two things must occur.

Option 1: nobody on day 60 gets to selecting anything between 12am and 10pm on day 60 which equals 22 hours.

Option 2: the day begins at 12am, but if we do a 2 hour "head start", then the booking window at 10pm actually occurs the day prior at 61 days before.

The loss is now you have waisted an entire day not allowing anyone to book (22 hours out of 24 hours) so that there is perceived fairness for those who find that time better for their schedule.

It would make things even more confusing than it is now. Require more education where folks would still complain. A solution doesn't typically create additional problems or more headaches.

So?

22 hours later doesn't matter if nobody else is gobbling up inventory in that time.

And I just don't see how that would require more education.

Intend to stop you? How would you suggest that I could do that? Once again, a perspective that is way over the top. I will comment on the ridiculous and obvious regardless of who posts it. If you happen to post it more often than most, I cannot control that.

Oh, okay. I made a complimentary observation regarding what Disney has been able to accomplish, and you deemed it to be a ridiculous conspiracy that I should let rest and if I should disagree with that then I am somehow too emotionally involved or way over the top. Yes sir. Got it, sir. Won't happen again, sir.

All caps anywhere on social media typically indicates that.

My grandmother types many things in all caps--but that is due to her eyesight. Takes a little bit of doubletake to realize she isn't yelling.

The OP might have missed the memo on that too. Is there a thread you could direct him to?

I guess I don't understand why it's seen as "wasting" an entire day not allowing anyone to book. If Disney had started FP+ with a booking window opening at 10pm on day 60 (option 1, to be clear) from the very beginning, there wouldn't be a perceived "loss" of time - the booking window is whatever Disney says it is.

I also don't see why it would be more confusing. ADRs don't open at midnight - they open at 6am (online). Over the phone they don't open til 7am (at least, I think that's still the case). How is stating a specific time you can start booking on day 60 any more confusing than ADR booking opening at 2 different times (depending on booking method) which is also a separate time than the time that FP+ window opening? (and that's without going into the 180 day window vs 60 day window).
