How Much Is It Costing You To Go To Orlando In 2011?

While we were there in February we upgraded to weekday FL resident passes. Our next trip down will most likely be over our spring break, and most likely we will stay with my daughter who is in college at UCF. Its about a 45 min drive to the park, but the price is right LOL Can't get much more budget than that I suppose.

This is what I have so far:

$1436 Disneyworld tickets ($224 x 2 for child tickets--7 days
$247 x 4 for adult tickets--7 days)

$840 Universal Studios tickets ($145 x 4 adult tickets—3 days
$130 x 2 child tickets—3 days)

Total for theme park tickets $2276

12 nights hotel $1500

Car rental $800 (need a van for 2 weeks)

6 flights @ $300/ticket $1800

Total vacation for 12 nights: (minus food, extras, parking)

$6,376

This is a trip for Dh and I, plus our kids who will be 19, 17, 8, 6, 17 months and 17 months (twins) at the time of the trip in September 2011 :)

For our July trip --

I'm going down for a conference and taking my daughters and 6 of their friends. One mom is also tagging along so this is for 2 adults, 4 16yr olds, 2 13yr olds and 2 8yr olds (10 people total) spending 6 nights.

Airfare -- 2620
Park Tickets -- 2348 (2 of us already have APs, so this is for 6 adult and 2 child 7 day PH with free bonus 1 day waterpark through conventionears.com plus 1 day waterpark for the AP holders)
Hotel -- 2952 (3 rooms at Yacht / Beach Club for 6 nights under a great convention rate)
Food -- 1916 (includes 5 sitdown, rest counter service and breakfast in room. Also includes Tables in Wonderland)

Total $9816

The kids are each paying for their own plane tickets and the other mom is paying for her and the 8yr olds' park tickets. Work is paying for my plane ticket and part of one room so my out of pocket will be $5712, or $95 per person per day in Mickey Math.

For DH and I:

$1500 for hotel, park tickets and free dining (staying at Pop and upgraded to reg dining plan)

Haven't book air fare yet since it's not available for our whole trip. It's gonna be around $800 for the 2 of us though unless prices come down. Flying cross country out of Vegas is expensive, but cheaper than SLC which is the next closest. I guess that is the disadvantage of living in a small town. We also need to factor in shuttle and possibly hotel fees outside of the airport.

Still deciding on a rental car. We have done the buses and don't mind them, but a car would be nice. Especially if we decide to run the wine and dine.

Haven't figured out a budget yet for souveniers, tips and extras, but based on our last trip that will be about $400. Maybe a little more though since it will be much hotter than last time.

i figure right around $3000 for me and my 3 boys. The only expense I didn't figure was car rental and I'm not sure I will rent one...

well, airfare was nearly 3 x what i thought it would be and the kids decided they have to go to Universal so....another $1500 onto my original $3k plus $250 for car rental...and another $500 or so for food. Jeez, i could gone back to Italy for less.

I was estimating the cost today and this is what it was budgeting for:

WDW:
Airfare for 5 $2400 (grandma has a free flight voucher)
1 child ticket (everyone else has AP that haven't expired) & grandma's PH $570
Food $1000
Room- DVC, paid for

DLR:
Gas to drive $600
Rooms on the way down and back $400
Room- DVC, paid for
Tickets- $800 (2 kids, a adults)
Food- $1000

We're thinking it'll be DLR this summer...

We've put down the deposit on our room for our upcoming December trip this past Wednesday. This is what we have budgeted...

Airfare - $205x2 = $410 RT for the both of us NYC to MCO

Hotel (1st night as we arrive late) - $95x1 = $95 Pop Century Standard

Hotel (Wilderness Lodge Woods View - 4 nights), Tickets (4 Day Park Hopper), and Dining (Basic Plan) = $1850.00

TOTAL: $2450 (plus souveniers, incidentals, etc.)

Not too bad considering we got a group rate discount on the room and the tickets.

Total cost for our family - DH, me, DS (9), DD (6), and DD (2 - will be turning 3 on our trip which is how we chose our dates - one more free trip for her and one more chance to stay in a one bedroom)

Airfare - booked thru WDW Air Tran - $1243 out of MSP

9 nights in a 1 bedroom at VWL - $2830

8 day Park Hoppers - $1254

Total cost I am paying on: $5327

I am also planning around $1000 for food, souveniers and MNSSHP. The older kids have around $300 each saved up (everyone they know gives them gc's for bdays, christmas etc.) This will be their souvenier money, plus they each want to do one special thing - like parasailing with their money.

This is the way my DH feels about it now that we have gone a few times. But, it only takes one trip to really make you feel that way. :headache:

We are going next month - DS's marching band is performing before lights parade in MK!

Marching Band cost - $1100

Airline tickets (4 from PHL) - $600
Airline ticket for son to return w/us - $80
3 nts Kids Stay and Play at ASM w/ tickets & deluxe dining - $1600
4 nts at LBV Embassy Suites - $450
Week car rental - $250
Souvenir/spending money - $500
Restaurants for 4 days - $600 (+$100 Outback & $50 Applebees GC we might use)
Tips - $200
Luggage & airport parking - $200

I'm sure I've forgotten things but it adds up to $5,580:scared1: Last time was a lot less....but a lot of that extra cost is by choice - marching band, deluxe dining for princess dinners...so I can't complain too much!

I have to say that DH an I could have gone back to Italy but NOT with my 2 sons and 1 grandson...so I guess it's worth it to give my boys their first Disney.

Next year...Hawaii...alone...DH and me!

ok, i HAVE to post this one to make myself feel better. I am going for a week in October...I am staying at Pop with no car and an AP/TIW in my hand. Hotel is $430 for my 5 nites and air will be $250-300. I anticipate my food will be less than $400...hopefully WAY less...but I do not intend to eat baloney just coz I am solo. :) I NEED my dole whips. :P

DH is joining me mid-week when we move to the GF for the remainder. We are getting an awesome convention rate on the GF and the hotel, his air and food will be covered by his business expense account. So...our october week will be around $1200 total for the both of us. Oh...make that $1300--we ARE doing MNSSHP...it's our annual ritual and we can't miss it.

Whew...that makes the March Madness much more palatable. :)

December is a whole nother story again. LOL.

:rotfl: DH & I are dreaming of Italy....alone! ;)

I do envy your trip in October! I love WDW in October!! :wizard:

Our WDW trip this year was at the end of Jan and cost around $2500 for 5 nights, for 2 adults. We stayed at BWI, standard view, w/40% discount. We had 6 day hoppers and paid OOP for food. I had about $250 in BOA credits toward our food costs. Airfare was right around $200 per ticket. We took a towncar transfer to/from MCO/BWI.

No more WDW trips for us this year, and I doubt we will go next year. We have three other trips planned, for other locations, this year and next year we are shooting for three weeks in Hawaii.

Since I am going solo, the MYW package(6 day PH, POP Preferred, no DP) is $905. $252 RT from Kansas City. I figure $400-$500 for food and souvineers.

Family of five, two adults, one tween, two kids. four nights, five days, DDP, $2570. Gas budget $200.00. A night at a hotel going and coming, priceline bought, $150. Tips $250. Extra food budget, $200.00. Soven. $150. Grand Total = $3670....of which 2670 is already paid and I have $1000 on a debit card saved.

I do intend to upgrade our tickets when we get there to Florida Resident passes, and estimate that at an extra $120 total.

$3,400 total
airfare
14 nights pop century
regular dining
10 day park hoppers
2 adults 1 child

We're heading to Orlando from Northwest Montana in March (6 nights) and it is costing us (2 adults) $365.60 each R/T to fly on United. The rental car is $114.00 (midsize). The hotel is $95.57 per night @ Holiday Inn Express near USO. Total $1,419 so far. We need to get passes for USO yet....

What is it costing you and your family this year?

May I ask what car rental company you're using and if you have any codes?
