I only do on golden delicious. Other apples such as red delicious or other red/yellow mixed varieties I generally don't. But I do like to have carmel sauce on those!!!!!
I used to put it on watermelon, but never apples. I realized when reading this, that maybe that's why I no longer like watermelon! I stopped using so much salt & now only use it on potatoes, tomatoes (when eaten plain on the plate) & in pasta water (when cooking.)
I've seen people put sugar on watermelon and tomatoes - YUCK!
99 - I had to laugh! I think red delicious have absolutely no taste & started thinking that maybe the salt would help! I love Macintosh & Yellow Delicious with sharp cheese - it's probably the sodium content.
