how long to drive from SD zoo to DL?

Does anyone know about how long it would take to drive from the San Diego Zoo to DL (HOJO) hotel? We would be leaving the zoo at about 6pm on a Friday night and driving straight to our hotel. How long of a drive are we looking at? THanks!

6PM on a Friday night is just about the busiest time on the highway.

It's just under 100 miles so you should figure 2 to 2 1/2 hours

Actually it might take even longer than that!!

I used to work late in our downtown office and not even leave for home till about 6:30, and then it took me about 45 minutes to go 20 miles. going up the 15 or the 5 will be very bumper to bumper.

maybe you should go to a restraunt and have dinner before going, let the traffic clear up a bit.
