How hard to get Vero rooms in July 7 months out?

Hi,

I'm a DVC member with points at both OKW and VB. I'm planning a family get together July 2003 at Vero Beach and plan on using both OKW and VB points. Some of the rooms I'll get 11 months out, but the rest 7 months out. Do you think I'll have any problem getting VB rooms (Inn rooms or studios) 7 months out. I'd hate to plan this and only get part of the rooms I'll need. I'd trade OKW for VB points but I don't see much of that going on.

Hi Steve-

I don't think it should be a problem if you call right at 7 months. In fact I just made some ressies last week for a Vero trip this July. I was able to get 2 nights in an Inn room/Ocean View. MS also had Garden views and regular Studios available.

This will be for a Sunday-Tuesday, mid-July. It might be tougher around the 4th or weekends.

I happened to have called exactly 7 months out and I was able to get an Inn room (1 night) and a 2bd (4 nights). I live in CA and I am not a morning person. Needless to say, I called mid-morning early afternoon PDT each day and the rooms were available. MS did mention that I should call everyday because it seemed to be a popular time.

We booked the 4th of July week, 1BR ocean view, for 6 days June 30-Juy 5th for this summer. We booked at 7 months out and had to be waitlisted fot the last 2 days. We got the 1BR for the first 4 days and studio for the last 2 days. After that, we decided to buy at VB also, to get the 11 month window for VB also.I think down the road it will be hard to book VB in the winter months at the 7 month window.
