We are flying and do not plan on renting a car. How do we get to our dining destinations if we are not eating in the park?

It would be helpful if you said where you were staying and for what resturants you have dinner reservations. That being said, in most cases you can take a bus to DTD or any of the parks from any of the resorts and then catch another bus to the resort where you plan to eat. Otherwise, there are always taxis.

We are staying at the POR, on the day we go to animal kingdom we have dinner reservations for Narcoosee's. We also do a breakfast at chef mickey's and Ohana and a dinner at the flying fish. I do not allways want to take taxis. Will it take too long to take the resort buses/ rails etc?

grand floridian bus from ak for narcoossees. chef mickeys and ohana take bus to TTC or MK then hop on the monorail. its do able! we made our 6 adrs last year pretty easily! just give yourself enough time! have a great trip!

I see in another post you are staying @ POR. For DTD restaurants take the boat from POR to DTD or the bus.
The easiest to remember, in general is grab a bus to a Park, walk over to the bus loading for the resort you want to eat @ and take it to that resort.
For restaurants @ the Poly (Ohana, Kona) GF (Narcoosies, V&A, Citricos, etc.) Contemporary (CG, Wave) take a bus from POR to MK. Walk towards the MK entrance but veer left and follow the resort monorail signs, hop on the monorail and get off @ the resort where you are dinning. For WL or Hoop dee doo (FW) take the boat in the same area, instead.
For Epcot area resorts take the bus @ POR to HS, head towards the entrance to HS, veer right to the boat launch then take the boat & get off @ the resort where you are dinning.
For AKL take the POR bus to a park, get off, then walk over to the bus going from that park to AKL and hop on.
These are not the only ways to do this, btw. You can always go to DTD and catch the bus to the resort you want to eat @ there - I've just had LONG waits @ DTD, so I avoid it as a transfer point.
If dinner runs late, you're tired and don't want to mess with buses/transferring, take a taxi.

How much is a taxi to get from POR to say, Contemporary? Do they run at 7:00AM? (We would need to transport 5 people). I'm assuming that a bus will not be an option to make it to Chef Mickey's for an ADR at 7:35 AM.:confused3

Actually you should be able to take an early bus to MK and just walk over to the Contemporary. You would want to be at the bus stop by probably 6:30 and grab the first bus that arrives for MK. I think you can make it.

If you taxi, I would budget $15-ish.

For an ADR at 7:35, you can get a MK bus around 6:30, from POR. Then, when you get on the bus, you can ask the driver which is quicker to CM's.....monorail or walking. The driver may very well offer to drop you right at the CR. If he doesn't, just get off the bus and then walk over to the CR..takes about 8 mins.

IF you head over to the Transportation Board, you should be able to get a ton of good info there. We love to get people around WDW!!!

To be honest... I wouldn't make an ADR for a resort restaurant that wasn't adjacent to the park we will be at that day (ie... stick w/ GF/Poly/CR/WL on MK days, etc).

That said... an AK day will end early so you should have time to get from AK to the MK (there is a direct bus) and then take either the monorail or boat over to the GF.
