How do you get stay in Cinderella's Castle?

Spending just one night there would be wonderful, but I would be very happy to just see it in person.

I told dh this morning that HGTV is going to be calling today to tell me I won. He started whistling the 60s song, "Dream, dream dream dream," and I replied back with, "When you wish upon a star . . . "

I got a tour of the suite a few weeks back when I was at Disney as part of a D23 event. It is not that large, I think they said about 600 sq ft or so, but it is beautiful. I would love to stay there. They had a guest book and people had stayed there the night before we were there so it is still being used. But it's via Disney only. You can't "buy" a night in the castle.

We were there for the D23 event, too. We were told that the only way to get a night into the castle is to win it. They don't rent it out to anyone - not even celebrities. And there are rumors that Disney is thinking of going back to rewarding a night in the castle randomly, like they did during the YoaMD, but that wouldn't happen for a year or two, if at all.

My Family was one of the lucky few to win the DREAM of staying a night in the Castle. We even won on Mickey's birthday! (Sunday, November 18, 2007) My DH was sitting in the right seat on Mission Space at Epcot. It was a whril wind of activity that day. It was amazing and something that we will never forget. It has to be one of the best days in our lives. Just behind the birth of our DS and our wedding day. I hope that a fellow DISer wins the stay from HGTV. Good Luck to all!

We were told the only celeb to stay there was Tom Cruise and it wasn't because he was a celeb. He wanted to come to Disney but all the resorts were booked so they let him stay the night in the castle. (I guess it was partly because he was a celeb...if I had called they would have told me they were sold out..I wouldn't be offered the castle...lol) Also found out that one family won the chance to stay the night in the castle twice.

An "urban legend."

Well not sure if it's true but it was told to us by the cast member taking us to the suite tour. He said originally he thought they let him stay there trying to get him for some Disney movie, but then heard it was because they had no rooms left.

I guess I’m strange because the idea of staying there doesn’t appeal to me that much. It’s a lovely room, I appreciate it on an artistic level, but from what I understand, once you are in, you are basically locked in for the night. You can’t go out. You can’t even look out into the park. I’d get claustrophobic after a while. Plus, I am a night person, I like being out late. I’m sad that there is no more PI but still, I’d probably pass the night at a late meal or strolling the boardwalk or Jellyrolls. I think if I ever won it, I’d give it up to a family with little kids or something.

Believe it or not,you are not alone.:)During the Year of a Million Dreams promotion SEVERAL random winners TURNED DOWN a night in the Castle Dream Suite!:)

As for being claustrophic, during my tour,I didn't feel that way at all. There is a phone and television and I could see parts of Fantasyland,Liberty Square and Frontierland through small parts of the stained glass windows.:)

I wonder, if you turned it down could you just like, turn to the family with 2 little girls who randomly happens to be standing next to you and "give" it to them or would you have to let Disney pick the next person?

We were told that they could leave the castle and walk around if they wanted. They preferred you stayed in your room, but if you wanted to walk around a bit you just had to let the cast memebr with you know. Also, if you won the night at the castle they gave you dinner in the restaraunt in the castle and you got a VIP guide for the rest of the day, since you would lose time in the day packing an overnight bag. So there were other perks as well as just staying in the suite.

My 'Keys to the Kingdom' guide was also TomKat's tour guide when they stayed in the castle. She said that Tom was invited to stay over Valentine's weekend by Iger and that is why he was allowed to stay there. She also said that they were super "normal" and that Katie had even made their beds in the morning.

No,during the YOAMD promotion, the Dream Squad was given a specific location, time, etc.(Space Mountain exit,9:50 AM,second "rocket",first seat)by a computer program.:)The winning Guest could not "transfer" the prize.:)

I am not sure if,when the winning Guest refused the prize, the computer issued another location,or if the CDS just went unused that night.:)

:thumbsup2Yes,though many thought(and some still do)it was just another "Disney Rumor",there are several eyewitness reports like yours.:)

IIRC,they were in the state for the Daytona 500.:)

I just wonder if TC jumped on Cinderella's COUCH!(How rude!);):)

Disney is offering another chance for a night in the Cinderella suite. Just found this new contest, ends Feb. 8, 2010, and you can enter daily.

http://www.dadt.com/dfm (Disney Family Movies)

It says the value of the grand prize if $11,087.00 -- you will have to pay income tax on this. Honestly, what is the value of the one night in the suite? How can a four-night stay (one night in the suite and three nights in a two-bedroom suite; meals and park tickets for all, and a $1,000 gift card) cost what is for me, 1/3 of a year's income???? I wonder if they would let you downgrade everything so the taxes wouldn't cost as much?

thanks pw...

Ok now Moderators please close this thread so it dies quickly before anyone sees

I don't think so. Me and my princesses will be sleeping there. If he is lucky, we will let Prince Charming come too.

Okay, I am from toledo(where Katie is from), I will get to the bottom of this, did they stay stuff. As far as her making the bed. She is actually pretty mean and and not the least bit curtious and I would be surprised at this. Although her family is nice. Maybe tom has changed her but as of 5 years ago I would die if she did that.

There is no way of knowing who and how people end up staying in the castle outside of contest. Do you think if a VIP wanted to stay there Disney would make it front page news??? Its probably no telling how many celebs have stayed in the suite simply because the public hasn't and never will be informed of such a happening. I don't care how inside Disney some people think they are on here if a celebrity asked a top exec to stay in the castle the deal is done unless a make a wish kid or other family was already in the castle. Disney is not going to say no to a mainstream celebrity. I like the make a wish idea as those kids deserve the chance at something like that versus those of us in perfect health. I don't like it but there aren't to many big time stars that don't get what they want sooner or later...
