How crowded is a 6 crowd level by Easy WDW?

I am following ALL the crowd calenders for august 2015.
Planning August 18 for 4 nights, since it is slightly later in august, and it doesnt go over a weekend, which I think woudl be more crowded???
When you see crowd levels of 6-7 by all these sites, is it still really crowded?? Not sure what to compare it too?
I have only been to Disney once at he end of September and it was low crowded for sure. I wouldnt even consider it crowded.
Also, on dads world calender, these dats are green (low level crowds)

Yes it is crowded. Do rope drop and you should be o.k. Just prepare for building and growing crowds as the day goes on.

Level 6 is my favorite crowd level. The parks have enough people for shows to be 3/4 full and fun but not so crowded that walk ways are stressful. We are good at managing crowds and at Level 6 if you get there 20 minutes before rope drop you will have a great time all day.

I think that is the BEST way to answer your question - watch actual wait times on a similar crowd level day! Check it out at rope drop, watch and see how quickly the wait times build or don't build, look at what they are in the afternoon and evening.

That method will certainly provide you with a much better feel for what crowd levels will be like on the day(s) you visit than will someone's sometimes inaccurate recollection of how long they waited for one attraction last summer.

1) Look up the crowd level of your last visit (back through 2006), to get a baseline number that you actually experienced. If that visit was a 6 and you felt like low crowds, you're in luck!
2) For each ride you can get an estimate translating crowd level to wait time. So that'll give you hard numbers to what a "6" vs "2" means.

Up to you whether it's worth the $$ for that site. But I paid and have found it really helpful.

It's long been our experience that Easy WDW's crowd level predictions are underestimated. Given that, I would say that a Level 6 should be fairly crowded.

I did pay for that plan, and I did already do that. LOL. Yes, at the end of Sept. it seems they had it at a 2-3 Level. Thats why im terrified of the 6. In Spetember there seemed to be many people, but not crowded, and i dont remeber ever waiting on lines, esp before 2:00. Im not so much worried about longer lines, but large crowds in general.

Level 6 in August from our experience is 30-50 minute waits on Splash, BTMRR, HM and similar. PP and 7DMT will be 60-90 minutes. Usually the other parks are a little bit less crowded, but similar wait times should be expected. TSMM isa FP+ or RD ride. Crowds are busy, but not packed.

I agree that RD is the best strategy and use FP+ for late morning/early afternoon.

We have been in the second half of August the last two years. It is definitely getting busier each year. We are going back and hoping that with the construction and expected 2017 openings, some might delay their vacations. Isn't looking good though.

We would definitely arrive before the park opens. We are more interested in just MK. So hoping to get most of the rides done for a seven yr old by lunch. She wont do splash moutain or the big ones anyway.

We have been when it is level 6 and it isn't bad. Get there early, take a break and head back after dinner. That is our plan anyway!

Both the Touring Plans site and easywdw are loaded with information that should help give anyone a ballpark idea of what kind of wait times to expect throughout the day based on the expected crowd level.

Touring Plans offers a chart for each of the 4 parks showing peak wait times based on crowd level. Here is the one for the MK; there is a link for similar charts for the other parks at the bottom of the page:

Between this information, and looking at the actual posted wait times from a site like mjhannaf's "Disney Wait Times" site (for which he posted a link above), there is probably more information than someone can process. But, if you want to answer the question, "What kind of wait time can I expect for Pirates of the Caribbean at noon on a crowd level 5 day" , I think this is as good as you're going to find.

Yes. Im from NJ. We go back before labor day as does most of NJ this yr. We go back Sept. 2 . wonder if NJ WEEK in November woudl be better. I know temperature wise it would be.

And just now at 4pm in the parks wait times for some things were:

Space Mountain: 40 minutes
Test Track: 60 minutes
Rock 'n Roller Coaster: 45 minutes
Expedition Everest: 25 minutes

Keep in mind, it is just as important to know what park to go to as it is what crowd level the resort is. A crowd level 6 for the same day could feel completely different at MK than it would at Hollywood Studios due to extra magic hours, park close time, parades etc.

The best advice I can give is use the EasyWDW crowd calendar and pay close attention to the recommended parks.
