Hi, I'm was thinking of trying to go to the HDD revue at 5pm and then to the Camp fire sing a long at 7:30 pm, also at Fort Wilderness. Has anyone done both in the same night? Will we be able to make it? How far are the 2 locations from each other? Thanks in advance!

The next seating for HDDR is 7:15, so you'll be out in plenty of time. I'm not sure about the distance to the campfire in regards to walking. You could always grab one of the internal busses for a quick trip to it.

Thanks for the reply! Has anyone been to the Campfire and sing along? Is it worth staying for after the HDD revue show? We have a 2 1/2 year old and a 4 1/2 year old.

Also, what's the best way to get there from CBR?

Thanks in advance!

We were thinking about catching the camp movie in progress after the 7:15 show. After a long day, and the excitement of Hoop-Dee-Doo, we headed back to our cabin.

For the campfire, if your kids are holding up, just take the internal FW transportation to the campfire. I believe it will be the "orange" bus line (there are signs to help you).

To get to Hoop-Dee-Doo: If you take a bus to MK and then the boat over to FW, it's just a short walk to Hoop-Dee-Doo (and it is a fun way to get there). After the show they bring in several "special" buses to get people back to their resorts.

There is not normally an external bus depot at Hoop-Dee-Doo or the camp fire area. For that you have to travel to the opposite end of Hoop-Dee-Doo via internal transportation to get to the check-in area of FW. Here you can catch a bus to/from a park, then to/from your resort.

I don't think there are special buses following the 5 PM show; since the OP is considering staying at FW longer, there may be a problem coordinating transportation. There'll be buses after the 7:15 show, but will the OP's party be able to get back to that pickup area in time? If not, there are also buses after the 9:30 show - but not until that show ends.

We plan do to the same thing. I've heard great things about the campfire sing along and thought it would be fun to try. Does anyone know if the characters sign autographs there or do they only take pictures? Also are you able to drive to hoop dee doo or is it better to use the disney transportation?

:goodvibes

We are planning on doing CM at 5pm on 9/24, then heading to the campfire after. Our kids are also 2 1/2 and 4 1/2. Maybe we will see you there! :) Do you know if they offer the campfire everynight or if its just on select nights of the week?

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. So now the question is how to get back to CBR after the campfire. Can anyone help with that? Thanks!

Can anyone tell me more about the campfire? Who is there and what do you "sing?" WE have HDDR at 5pm on 9/25. Doing the campfire sounds interesting - will have a car to get back to our resort so we only need to get from HDDR to the campfire itself.

There is no parking at HDDR. You would need to park near check-in and ride internal transportation to HDDR (FW is a very big place). Here's more:

When does the Campfire program begin and what is it like?
The Campfire Program is open to all WDW resort guests. It generally begins around 7:00 pm during the fall/winter season and 8 pm after the time changes in April through the summer. It is held near the Meadow Trading Post in the campfire area. The program begins with a sing-a-long led by a Disney CM and a marshmallow roast around two campfire rings. You may bring your own marshmallows or buy them at the Chuckwagon (roasting sticks and marshmallows are $2.15). You may also buy pizza, hot dogs, candy, nachos, juice, popcorn, cokes, coffee, beer and other refreshments at the Chuckwagon. While this is going on, Chip and Dale make an appearance to visit with guests and sign autographs. The sing-a-long lasts about 30 minutes. Next, one or two Disney animated features, depending upon the season, are shown on a large outdoor screen. Seating is available in bleachers or on benches. There is also plenty of room to lay out a quilt or blanket. The movie schedule is posted at all comfort stations. In the event of rain, the sing-a-long is still held on the porch of the Meadow Trading Post.
What is the Hoop-dee-Doo Revue and how do I get to it?
The Hoop-dee-doo Revue is the most popular and longest running dinner show offered at WDW. For comments on the show click here. The show is held at 5:00, 7:15 and 9:30 pm nightly at Pioneer Hall (note - Disney sometimes cancels the 9:30pm show during the "slow" times). Reservations are a must (407-939-3463) and can be made up to two years in advance. To get there, FW guests may board a Purple, Yellow or Orange internal bus to the Settlement Depot. Non FW guests may get to Pioneer Hall by driving to FW and parking in the visitor lot then catching a bus at the Outpost Depot. One can also drive to the Contemporary or Wilderness Lodge and take the boat launch to the FW marina. Another way, depending on the hours at the Magic Kingdom, are to take a resort bus to the MK and then take a boat from the MK to the Fort Wilderness marina. Pioneer Hall is a very short walk from the marina.

The campfire area is roughly in the middle of the resort, on your path from HDDR back to the parking area on one of the internal transportation routes.

Take internal to the stop about a 1/2 block from campfire. They sing various campsongs. There are fire pits on each side where you can roast marshmallows. You can bring your own supply or for $4 you get a pack of graham crackers, chocolate bars, sticks and mallows. They have bleachers or you can sit on the ground. They show two movies. It is fund.

We did both on our last trip. We loved HDDR but were not impressed with the campfire. I don't know if we were just there on an off night or what but Chip and Dale were only out for maybe 10 minutes and didn't really do much interacting at all. I was kinda under the impression that they hosted the thing. We went with kids ages 13, 6, 4, and 11 months. It's not something I would do again, we can make smores at home. We didn't do both on the same day so I couldn't tell you the best way to get there.

We are considering seeing campfire thing this year as well...still on fence as I keep hearing about being "bitten to death" in summer nights?????????

Not what I want to deal with........:lmao:

Similar question - We will be at WCC at 6:25pm in Aug. and were thinking about the campfire afterwards to get into the magic on 1st nt. w/o a park - have never been to FW - are these close? Will we have enough time to get there after dinner? (Was trying to move ressie up to 6ish, but no luck yet!) I saw the map someone posted, but did not see WCC marked on there. Also how far is the area where you can see Wishes? Thanks for any info. you can provide!

WCC is not at Ft. Wilderness, it is at the Wilderness Lodge, that's why it is not on the map. They are two different resorts. There is a boat launch from WL to FW but I don't think you will make it with a 6:25 ADR. You will have to have eaten, taken the boat launch, and gotten on an internal Ft.Wilderness bus to the campfire all in 1 hour.

Thanks for the info - FW/WL confusion - newbie mistake! I will keep trying to move up ressie to give us more time!
