We're getting ready for our winter getaway - December 6 - 12. I have reservations for a suite at the Hilton in Downtown Disney. But have been reading the great reviews about the HIFS, and am considering changing reservations. Which hotel would you choose? Here are the facts:

2 adults, 3 children - neice age 11, ds age 8, ds age 4. Kids eating free at breakfast, lunch, a plus for HIFS?

We will be driving down, so we will have our own transportation, but would rather take the bus to the parks, if convenient enough.

We have 4 day park hopper plus passes for Disney World, and plan on attending MVMCP. The early entry is a plus for the Hilton, but is it necessary during this time of the year?

I've checked on ressies at HIFS and can stay there for a few dollars less than the Hilton; I am paying $119 at Hilton/night and could get HIFS for 109. So the $ is not a deciding factor unless I could save even more.

Any comments would be absolutely great and much appreciated. Thanks so much.

If it were me, I would choose the HIFS, simply because you would have more room. The suites at the Hilton are just larger rooms. You get either a king bed or two doubles and a sleep sofa, while the HIFS is more like a 2 bedroom - a true suite in my opinion. Also the HIFS is more geared towards children with the free breakfast, kiddie pools, free train rides, kiddie check in...

My family consists of 5 too, and after a long day at the parks, I find it relaxing to be able to go to my room and shut the door away from the kids while they do their own thing.

I really liked the Hilton DD, I think it's a nice hotel, but when we stayed there, we got two rooms.

we stayed there in 2002 and will be returning in jan . you cant beat the price you pay for that you get......free breakfast (that was actually yummy ), free transporation to the parks, beautiful rooms that the kids love with 3 tvs!!!!the pools are really nice and the kids will love the big arcade. the food court had kids eat free, too. a&w, pizza hut and i forget the other. my hubbie actually sat down after our 6 day trip and figured out how much we saved (fam of 4 at the time). at least $200....no kidding!breakfast alone anywhere else would be $25 at least every morning. oh, at night they also have fun family activities when you get back from the parks. one night they had family kareokee(sp?) that was a blast. did you ever see a 29 year old mom attempt to sing brittany spears:p oops i did it again.......anyway it really is a beautiful property and to be honest, i never stayed at dtd hilton. i heard great things about it, though. but, you will love that you and your hubby can have some quiet time in your own room at the end of a crazy day. dtd is just sectioned off , right?well, i hope this helps and either way, youll have a great hotel!::yes:: ------maria

I haven't stayed at either, but am looking towards 12/04. I just wanted to let you know that I plugged in 12/03 dates for HIFS to see what rate we would be looking at, and I came up with $79 on the Entertainment rate.

This is the priority club website (I got off of this board!!!) that I saw the Ent. rate on: http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/pc/1/en/home

At $40+ a night diff, it might help make up your mind. I am anxiously awaiting the return of early December travellers to decide if we should stay at PC or offsite.

Thank you so much for your replies. I have decided to go with HIFS, made the reservation for $73. I didn't have an entertainment card; however, I just ordered the book and had it shipped to me (express shipping) so that I could get this discount. I will save a considerable amount doing this.

Your imput was great. Thanks for taking the time to post. We are getting so excited.
