I am SHOCKED!!!!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

:thumbsup2 Will set my DVR! Thanks

This is my thought, too, but I did watch last night. I have been and still am a Hillary supporter, but know that I will not be voting for Obama in this election. Listening last night made me feel much more comfortable with McCain and reinforced my thoughts about Obama.

Welcome to our thread. :wave2:

I am still uncomfortable with McCain (mainly over the Supreme Court and abortion issues) but I know that Obama will mean big trouble in the White House so what choice do I have? I am glad you feel comfortable with McCain. I wish I could.

The pres just picks the SC nominee, Congress must approve it.:thumbsup2

I never really saw the SC Justices a Pres only thing!

Cant help with the 'comfortable' thing!:lmao:

If Congress approved Thomas, they will approve anything, sorry. The only one I remember not getting approval is Bork. Harriet what's her name withdrew her application as well.

I suppose that with a repub pres and a dem congress, things would be slightly more interesting, but given the fact that Pelosi has been ridiculously soft on Bush, I wonder...still no comfort.

I agree about feeling more comfortable with McCain after that show. I felt after it was over that Obama was to soft but McCain was to hard:confused3

You could definitely see the difference in there ages/generations. I also was left feeling that if Obama was left in charge that I would worry that we would be easier invaded ....McCain in charge that we would not yet McCain would be more likely to provoke trouble.

I was impressed by McCain. Cant see what else he has to bring to the debates. During a time of war I can say that I feel more secure with McCain. Obama is still yet to touch me. I keep waiting for him to wow me but it still has not happened.

I for sure dont agree with all of Mccain's issues but I also dont when it comes to Obama's issues. Still have not decided on whether I will even vote.

With the new light with Russia and all that is happening around the world with these crazy dictators Obama makes me even more nervous. Is he to soft ???????

The question posed was whether or not there were any pro-Obama books out there. The general train of thought that I got from some here was that there were none. I just wanted to show that not only were there some, but there are many books on Obama's earlier life, from childhood, to his time spent as a community organizer, to Harvard law (written by those who knew him well), to Senator. They're easily found. However, to judge the legitimacy of these books, one would have to read them, footnotes and all, or find a source that you feel is credible and get their opinion, like crcormier did, to make that judgement. The fact that Corsi wrote the Swiftboat memoirs about John Kerry tells me a lot about the man, both as an author and as a purveyor of truth. I wouldn't use any of his writings, from his Swift Boat trash, to his gutter stained swipes at Hillary as a "fat hog" and a "lesbo" who "couldn't stop B.J. Bill being satisfied", to this pitifully researched attempt at character assassination of Barack Obama, to clean up after my dogs. The guy is pond scum...
I agree.

Thanks for listing the books by the way. :thumbsup2

I am in stitches. :lmao:

I just took the test on the "who would you hire" thread and apparently I fundamentally disagree with everyone who is running. Mu closest match is Nader. :dance3:

As an explenation, the questions were not very nuanced and I had difficulty picking some of them because my position is more complex.

Un-freakin-believable! Just when I thought Obama couldn’t stoop any lower – there he goes again. So, general consensus (even from DailyKos): McCain won the presidential forum Saturday night. Now the Obama campaign is quietly letting out that McCain cheated.

(Videotape)
SEN. JOHN McCAIN (R-AZ): Defeat it. Couple of points. One, if I'm president of the United States, my friends, if I have to follow him to the gates of hell, I will get Osama bin Laden and bring him to justice. I will do that and I know how to do it. I will get that done.

(End videotape)

MR. GREGORY: Andrea Mitchell, that's a pretty clear contrast.

MS. ANDREA MITCHELL: Oh, absolutely. And, you know, there was the crisp, immediate, forceful response by John McCain, clearly in a comfort zone because he was with his base. And Barack Obama, taking a risk in going there but seeing an opportunity. And a much more nuanced approach. The Obama people must feel that he didn't do quite as well as they might have wanted to in that context, because that--what they're putting out privately is that McCain may not have been in the cone of silence and may have had some ability to overhear what the questions were to Obama.

MR. GREGORY: Right.

MS. MITCHELL: He seemed so well prepared.

http://wizbangblog.com/content/2008...a-mitchell-dutifully-carries-obamas-water.php

Right.

Sorry, Obama, everyone with even half a brain knows the two following things about you:

1)You can’t think on your feet and need a teleprompter spewing out a well prepared speech in order to speak.

2)You refuse to take stances on issues and conform your answer to whatever audience you are in front of at the moment. Yes, it was rough on you Saturday night to answer hard direct questions when you are trying to give an answer to appease every single person in this country at the same time. It was obvious that you were trying to not take a stance. You have to take a stance sometime in order to be President. McCain, in contrast, showed that he could stand up and take a stance even though he knew his answers wouldn’t be popular with every single person in the United States.

But the fact that you can’t accept that McCain did better than you in the forum and resort to falsely accusing him of cheating and listening to your interview shows such [lack of] great character on your part Senator I.cant.take.criticism.I.must.be.loved.and.revered.by.all. Obama.

McCain has already shown he can answer tough questions on the spot without hearing them first or hearing what an opponent’s answer was to the question. He’s done numerous town halls where he’s been put on the spot with question after question. He’s even done a “town hall” for Hillary supporters – Democrats who are pro-choice and for other liberal issues – and was put on the spot with their questions and answered every single one of them without hesitation.

Oh wait! This is the same Obama who, while Hillary had to go first every single freakin’ time during the primary debates, listened to her answers and either a) repeated them or b) just basically said ‘what she said’. I guess only a cheater would accuse someone else of “cheating”.

Oh, and about McCain being in his “comfort zone”; Obama can kind of thank himself for that. Obama has refused to do any town hall meetings or be in any political settings with McCain except for the scheduled political debates but he’s “willing to meet McCain anytime, anywhere” (except for the previously listed exceptions  ) and Obama left himself wide open to this type of forum since he wouldn’t do anything else.

Most outrageous answer of the night - in my opinion:Obama’s answer to his stance on abortion and when the conception of life begins: “That’s above my pay grade” :lmao:

I can't wait for Hillary's speach at the convention!!! I love watching her and knowing that she's a mom and wife as well as a powerful politico! She's amazing! Does anyone know who is introducing her? I wish they'd had the convention a little earlier so school kids could stay up late to watch the whole thing. My son gets so busy right off the bat that he may have to miss it.

I haven't seen the exact line up. I'm certain that you could Google the schedule.

I know that I’ve posted before that there are rumblings that a lot of Hillary delegates are being replaced with Obama delegates. How can they legally do that? Now there is some harder evidence that it is going on.

I mean, I guess the Obama campaign telling all of the HS to not be surprised that she doesn’t get as many votes at the convention as she did in the primary should be proof enough :confused3 … but how can you just replace delegates before a convention when a candidate hasn’t released them yet?

If you can just do it, well then, I say it’s perfectly fair for Hillary to go and change every Obama delegate to her delegate and then she’ll win the primary. I mean, what does it matter that the delegate represents our votes in the election? If it’s just a game of replacing delegates with your own to see who can do it first, and since our girl has proven she’s the harder worker of the two, I think she could successfully replace all delegates first and be the Democratic nominee.

But seriously, what’s the purpose of voting? What was the purpose of me being late to work that morning because I had to swing by and cast my vote? What was the purpose of me rushing to my caucus location after work to stand out in a cold (for Texas) parking lot for a few hours to caucus if Obama is just going to breeze on by and replace my delegate – my vote - with his delegate? Can this thing be any more corrupt?

Sounds like the last Debate he had with Hillary. Remember he was HORRIBLE, so he decided not to debate anymore (there were still 3 debates left too go)...because ABC asked 'silly' questions.
Sounds like 'spoiled brat' syndrome too me.:snooty:

Sadly the DNC said VERY LOUDLY your vote DONT COUNT!!!! Thats why I am Independant now.

Besides, I read somewhere that for the first time ever. All the delagates MUST sign a sworn statement BEFORE the Live Broadcast head count at the Primaries. So no suprises. VERY SOCIALIST to me.:guilty:

Secretly I would LOVE for Hillary to get up at the podium and just TRASH Obama!!!!!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

That would be something else wouldn't it? Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it), she's too politically savvy to insult Mr Obama.

:scared1:

I honestly thought there couldn't be a President worse than GWB. If Obama's elected he'll be worse and more corrupt than GWB. :sad2:

:thumbsup2 I'm alllll for that! He doesn't deserve one ounce of respect from her after the way he treated her. She's a much bigger person than he is. If the roles were reversed and she'd gotten the nod (as she should have) he'd be nowhere to be found for the rest of this election... he'd be off pouting somewhere that he should have been the nominee and he would not be standing up for her as she has been for him.

Should we call him Dictator Obama? Do you refer to socialist leaders as Dictators? I need to go and get the 411 on socialism since that is the direction this country is headed should we have an Obama leadership.

You are right. So now what do we do? Other than refusing to vote for Obama in the General, we are pretty much hosed.

That's my point exactly. Whoever the President (assuming a republican) picks, the worthless, spineless democrats we have in congress will vote for him.

 Ha!!! Nice thought but it will never happen.

Lenin was socialist. Wasn't he just called comrade?

Of course, some people think that all liberals are socialist. Maybe we have some tendencies but we're far away not all at the same level. I would definitely say that Obama is way more socialist than I am.
