eeyore whines i think it took a lot of courage for many of these posters to come out of lurking mode. it really is weird how often interesting threads just shrivel & die...but the controversial/argumentative ones (refillable mugs, occupancy issues, DDP, etc) live forever & ever

This thread is hilarious! I thought I was the only one that felt this way! I always spend so much time on my posts, trying to be very polite, making sure I don't have any typos, etc., but then nobody responds to me!

I think I'm trying too hard. I probably come off sounding too stiff and formal.

Also, I have an embarrassing confession to make. When I first registered, I didn't know anything about the tag fairy thing, so I thought I'd be cool like others and make up a little "saying" under my name. I went with the Hakuna Matata singing line because that's what I always do in the car on the way to WDW. I've been in a quandry over whether or not I should remove it, now that I know about the tag fairy. I don't want to look like I'm trying desperately to fit in or something.

By the way, sorry about putting the kiss of death on this thread. I hope you all enjoyed it before I killed it.

A thead locker is when you post something that the moderators find offensive or the thread gets too nasty and they lock it so no one else can post. The problem is that you don't always know what's going to be deemed offensive or what someone might get upset about - baring the obvious like swear words, hot topics etc.
I locked a thread by using sarcasm to get a laugh about people who pool hop and, well, others didn't have a sense of humor and were offended. The thread got nasty towards me and boom - it was locked. I was then given a warning and told I would get points against me if I was "mean" again. Wow!! I wasn't trying to be mean. I had no idea that sarcasm was frowned upon here and that you can get penalized for using it. I've read plenty a thread where people were discussing much "hotter" topics than mine and slinging mud left and right, yet it was still open. Go figure.
So the moral of this story is...Better a thread killer than a thread locker.
