Hi, my name is Elaine and I'm a thread killer

Troll posts are to sabotage yourself, though, right? I was sabotaged--I wrote a "Thank You" to Mary Poppins and someone wrote a sarcastic reply. Ummm... that was probably the ONLY thread I didn't want a response to (unless you are Mary Poppins, of course!) I was agitated, but refused to blemish my thread any further by responding.

Re: Killing this thread tonight--not gonna happen. This thread DOES sleep at night though! These TTKU's are early to bed and struggle a bit in the morning until they have had a few cups of coffee.

So, good night fellow threadkillers. I'll be back first thing in the morning to greet you all! See you then!

I totally feel like a thread killer...so most of the time I just lurk. Shoot, I've got a trip report going and I'm even killing that one, no one even posts in that one either! :rotfl:

I also read your TR. What a great proposal. Congratulations! It was an excellent read. Love your pictures! I'm going to read your Disneymoon TR tomorrow after I get back from work. :thumbsup2

I'm wondering, too.

I started a thread about kids meals - which has over 180+ views - but only ONE reply!!??

Can't help wondering "why"?

I didn't read it...sorry. If I read a no reply post I usually try and say something. I know how it feels to be a thread killer. :faint: You just have to put yourself out there. Don't think of your pain but of the relief you have given to another. :woohoo:

I'm in Hawaii, I guess I'll have to post on this thread before I go to bed to keep it alive...in hopes that I'm not the thread killer LOL!!!

Starrzone...it's funny that you made that comment about being Canadian. For a fleeting moment, I was toying with the idea of removing the reference to being Canadian from my signature because I thought that this must be the reason that I'm killing threads left, right and centre! I know that's silly, but I really can't figure out what the problem is. I'm starting to develop quite a complex over it! :rotfl:

What's a Ding? Let's keep the thread alive.

Have you ever been so frustrated by the responses to a statement / question you posted?

I started a thread concerning a Disney CC. It seems that all of the responses are totally from left field, people are obviously not reading the post, I stated in black and white what the issue is.

So now, I keep watching this post and having to clarify things, that are already previously stated for people.

Do I just ignore it now, knowing I'll never get any real help and suggestions? Am I my own thread killer? I know I probably won't get an answer to this, because no one will read it.;) I'm so lonely on here.:confused3

Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

By the way, an addition to my above post, that thread has had 274 views since late last night, and only one reasonable sensible response. Go figure.

Oh! See, I thought no one responded to me 'cause I live in a blue state. Maybe it's my avatar? You could drive yourself crazy trying to figure it out!

 I read this post and I wish I could help! I don't have a Disney CC, so I probably wouldn't be of much help. I think that sometimes people read what they want (or superimpose their own situation onto yours) and respond to make themselves feel good/look better. Sometimes (and this one REALLY gets me) people will read ONLY the first post and then contribute, even if the topic has been covered or new questions have arisen further down the thread.

Don't be lonely alone. That's why we are here--to be lonely together!:grouphug:

just read your TR, & really enjoyed it :thumbsup2
sadly, of about 30+ WDW vacations (not counting pre-marriage ones), i have yet to complete a single TR. the way you used pictures to tell most of the story is great tho ~ you may have just inspired me :)
Thank you so much! I'm glad you are enjoying! I like using the pictures to help tell it, makes it way easier on me!

Thank you so much! I'm glad you like it. I love how my DH proposed, and he got all the details arranged at the last minute too and pulled it off!

I hope you get a Ding for your upcoming trip soon!

Well, the way the weather is up here right now, I was starting to wonder...maybe when I go to Mexico in 10 DAYS!!! the posts will pick up (well, the fact that I won't be posting while on vacation may help...). Or, maybe it's my accent? I've been told (even by fellow Canadians) that I have quite the way of pronouncing some words (Toyota and bagel in particular!).

A Ding is a super secret special discount you can get when you download a super secret special program from the southwest.com airline website. You can save money by booking through this ding if you fly with their airline and they fly to your city. I booked tickets and the great thing is that if they have a sale for that specific flight/date or you're flexible you can cancel/rebook (no penalty) at the cheaper price and save the difference towards another flight. Lately, the pickins are pretty slim :rolleyes1

See?? My posting resulted in a 3.5 hour delay until the next post :scared1: Maybe I need to do a Disney trip to absolve my sins and make the DisBoard Gods happy, since I haven't been since 2005:worship:

About the word Ding...does anyone else think it's a funny word? It sounds so passive/agressive..."I'm going to DING him if he does that again"! Is it named after a sound the program makes? If it made a different sound, would it be called a Blip? Or a Ping? Man, I need to get back to work...

How do I get a ding??? I want cheap flights.

HEy now I posted a page ago and this thread is still going??? I think I lost my touch here what the heck is going on????

If Southwest Airlines flies out of the airport you frequent, you can go on the web and look for the DING logo. It will have instructions on how to download it onto your computer. You will need to indicate what cities you want to fly to and then when you hear a 'Ding' you'll see a notice which you click on and for that range of dates and flights you can book using that program. As you familiarize yourself with it, you can see the options that are available to you. The Transportation Board has a thread that some great folks update every day showing the daily Ding flying to FL, :)
